The photo of horus fighting the emperor 🎉😅
The colors no idea
superglue can be frozen off, put your parts in the freezer then pull apart.
Hi Tabletop Time.
I've used Established Titles before and I hate to be the one to inform you but they're a scam.
I'm currently looking at Highland Titles. They seem to be more legit and even offer a tour.
Don't forget the Led in the light fitting 🙂.
The lore: "they travel through the warp"
Forge World: "warped, you say?"
Green-purple iridescent please! 👍😁
It's always remarkable to me that forgeworld kits are so expensive but seem to lack even basic quality control
handled by a subsidiary or 3rd party maybe?
@@FenrirFrostborn Actually, I'd wager that the number issues with GWs forgeworld kits are sent out like that because nobody returns them...
@@AngelusNielson the prospect of warpage and nonfitting parts is probably why I wont ever buy from fw.
@@FenrirFrostborn I don't even have enough disposable income for "Normal" 40K. I'm not going to be like my friend and spend 50 bucks on a tank hatch.
The reason my local store gave me which is only 1 of 3 that are allowed to order in and stock forgeworld kits is that there are so many defects in the mould process when it comes to resin, its simpler to just tell us how to fix the minor ones and send replacement models where needed than throwing out entire batches because of small defects in the resin, personally I got a Sanguinius model a few months ago and the sword had a hole in it and they sent me an entirely new model which I donated to the store (I took the sword out of the kit tho and gave them the damaged one)
If you're looking for a colour scheme, the name Porphyrion comes from the ancient Greek word porphura, meaning purple.
Purple, blue and silver, perhaps? Purple for the name, and blue and silver for the TTT brand!
Also, Porphyrion was the name of one of the Gigantes, made to destroy the Olympians in Greek mythology. Specifically, he was made to destroy Zeus. If I remember my mythology correctly.
Also, Acastus was the name of Medea's younger brother. Medea, as some may know, helped Jason steal the Golden Fleece, so maybe some gold in there too??? Also, haha, second Greek mythology reference.
Tyrian purple specifically, it's a very red purple. Goes fantastic with gold or bronze.
I like purple and yellow as an homage to that house mortimer that we get a flash of at 6:12... That heraldry look familiar to anyone else?
Could link back to some certain weird goings on on an ice planet we have come to love at Ttt? 😈
Genestealer cults, I'm talking about genestealer cults for those that don't get my daftness 😁
A White, Dark green, and gold or silver would make a very cool medevil times Knight
would say silver would fit the "knight of people" theme more, being a more humble metal than gold
@@LilithLonelyHeartalso, with gold it would seem too much like a dark angel
I remember really liking a silver green and blue color-scheme someone used for a Marines Errant paintjob on some space marines.
@@LilithLonelyHeart would bronze be better?
So.... Dark angels
That lumbering pose really sells the mass and inertia of the knight.
"Pour-fear-ee-onn"
There ya go. It's the name of the King of Giants in Greek Myth.
I would like to see a Saint Celestine freehand on the amor (realy like the look how Jenn painted her).
For color... Maybe purple, green silver.
imagine if bandai made a 40k knight with proper articulation like a master grade or something. loving the deep dive on older 40k lore,
it would cost a few thousand dollars... then again some 40k fans would still buy it
@@bowmanruto nah, its about the size of a perfect grade with none of the intricate detail and no where near quality of bandai stuff, you'd probably be looking about £300ish and it would be so much better
@@cloneyA I misread the original comment which is on me, yea if bandai made it it would be great, I read it as what if GW made a knight kit with the articulation of a master grade
Agreed... a "Bandai" 40k style Knight would be Epic AF
An Imperial Knight of the people, for the people, by the......TTT people.
I think Black, Purple and Silver/Chrome would look amazing 🤩
I was there in 1990 when the ancient scrolls were written. Those knights were amazing.
Okay, but in honour of the history the freehand should be something dinosaur related right? 😛
Sweet video, really liked the little history lesson too
Definitely think he needs a TTT paint scheme, then be can join the the TTT marines against the Necrons lol
Love hearing the history of warhammer history some of the retcons sound great and needed to have been kept like imagin a Chapter dedicated to using Dino seige equipment!
In terms of a mural I think recreating the battle from the launch of Age darkness would be awesome, the two titans in it fighting would be the main focus and then the small detail would be the space marines
This thing is supposed to be an executioner so your mural should be of a medieval knight executing a tyranid monster.
In a model as expensive as this one,i would paint every nook and cranny. And i would magnetize the heck out of it.
What an epic model! I look forward to seeing your freehand work!
Hi Dave, if this is going to be for Tabletop Time it should be blue, white and red and can't wait to see how this big boy shapes up.
Agreed but I think it should be a more metallic color instead of red
The American Knight?
I'd love to see a Purple main color (Like Eggplant) with gold plated metal (if an older look is desired, gold could be flaking) and green secondary colors.
I had the same colors in mind (except silver instead of gold :D)
Edit: What do you think about a monochrome mural of Saint Celestine? :)
The saints knight
little superglue tip. If you put the glued part in the freezer for a couple min the glue will turn brittle and the part easy to snap off. done this a few times to fix some mistakes before and it works like a charm.
Personally, I think it'd be cool as a Space Bear.
You don't need to do any extra customisation, just paint it in the Space Bear colours with the chapter's insignia.
Idk about the actual lore of knights, but a german grey, bright red, and bronze would look fantastic. Plus, Vallejo german grey is just a very useful color to get a black look, without obscuring details by making them too dark.
'And with super glue you're not getting those pistons back' - There's super glue remover that will turn it into a jelly that you just wash off without damaging the resin. You can also use acetone, but I have no idea if that affects the resin. I've used the remover a few times on ebay purchases that were badly assembled.
Idea for a mural: The appointment of Horus as Warmaster by the Emperor on Ullanor. Would have been a great honor for the Knight household at the time but a point of unending shame after Horus´ betrayal.
So then the spikes start coming.... 🤣😂🤣
My vote goes for Green, Red and Purple. Because I would love to see you make those 3 colours work somehow.
Love the work you put into posing the legs! The pictures on the official Forge World website make it seem so boring and static, but you coaxed some dynamism into it that it desperately needed.
If I were to propose a paint scheme, I would go with white and blue for the armor, with gold trim and mechanical components underneath. The white and blue are painted on in alternating squares, like an extremely over-sized checker pattern made up of only a handful of squares. I think this would give it a proper knightly look, helping to sell it as a nobleman's battle garb. Plus, I'm a big Battletech nerd, and I love repping good old House Steiner and it's white and blue.
that sound like house terryn's color scheme.
sorry forgot the s in sounds, makes me sound like a cave man... {:(
I always love the super deep dives on things i would probably otherwise skim over! With this format, its like two videos in one!
It's also really sick that y'all are taking viewers into consideration!! Something that ya don't see a lot, but always makes TTT stand out! The discord/s are testiment to that!
Just a helpful note: super glue debonder is a thing you can buy... And is incredibly useful for correcting errors with super glue, like squeeze out, or just putting parts in the wrong places.
Also, cross pinning is a good thing, even if done after the fact.
I dare you to create a fully articulated figure of an imperial night. It can be any kind of night of your choosing, but it has to be fully articulated. it can also be whatever size you'd like it to be
Purple, tan, and silver would look great!
I think a cool colour scheme would be an ultramarine blue and white, then with reddish-bronze trim. You get mostly cold colours, then that dash of warmth to contrast it.
A cool mural would be an angel weeping over a fallen Knight. There's a similar image used by a titan from the legio Invigilata to reference their losses during the 3rd war for Armageddon and its an concept I like.
Maybe do a metalic opace green as a primary, then a ivory secondary and a bronze trim.
Havent seen that before, would be uniqe.
A deep purple primary, a bright red secondary, a copper tertiary, and bright green lights and energy with a dark iron skeleton. A strong scheme that definitely stands out across the table, and purple would be the perfect base for whatever mural gets decided on to make the mural pop off of it.
For the symbol, an hive city with a halo around and the knight head above to symbolize that this knight protect the people from the hive. ( like lord Horrik in Shootas blood and teef)
I would love to see turquoise and orange, with a silver trim
Blue as a primary colour, black and silver for machinery, and white decals with the tabletop time logo
Burgundy- magenta for primary, black/white for secondary, and gold trim would look amazing.
Some fun irl lore : The original prototype of the Porphyrion got shown off at a GW event, it was 3D printed plastic and was around the same size as a standard knight titan just a bit larger. At some point in development they decided it should be the size of a warhound titan and scaled it up which makes some of it's proportions look odd when you look at the individual parts, sort of like a knight titan got hit with expand in photoshop
Techpriest recruit: What did you say it's secondary weapons are, Triple Lascannon?
Senior Techpriest: No no no, Nipple Lascannon.
Recruit: ...
Senior: Running spellchecker is heresy, recruit. Don't even think about it.
A little tie in with the space bears would be nice. Like a lil icon or homage on a panel somewhere to show the knights pledge to the bears cause or something.
I love this! We've had requests for the space bear knight but knight houses are seperate to marine chapters. I think we definately will include some astra Primeursa battle honor's though
Make it a spacebears knight.
If you can convince jazza
It would be cool if the knight was a Freeblade since the lore mentioned they were seen as a bad omen. Maybe that led to the knight to leaving their house. For a colour scheme I personally would like to see some form of purple or burgundy.
Could always paint the Knight in TTT colors, Blue, White and either a darker or lighter shade of Blue - maybe some Silver/Gold just to shake it up?
A Medium Blue, Dark Grey, and off White would look good and fit with tabletop times logo. Can't wait to see which color scheme you go with!
A slaanesh grey kinda color would be really good to help add color without too much vibrancy.
Mural of a Knight squishing a Mega T-Rex under each foot while a bunch of eldar cry.
Oh man, I gotta get back to work on my Chaos Porphyrion…
Just bought my first 40k product and have been watching your channel for mini painting tips ... white, dark green and silver sounds pretty epic for the paint job on this model.
I thankfully brought one about 5 years ago before the price hike.
Was a blast building and painting it for my House Cadmus knight army (7 big knights Inc an acheron and now 4 armigers)
Cyan, navy, and silver. The knight is from an ocean-world and wades knee-deep through water, like a Kaiju movie.
"The story of Imperial knights circa 1990 begins with..."
Battlemechs. The answer is Battlemechs. What, you thought the idea of feudal warriors neurally linked to their giant bipedal war machines just sprang _ex nihilo_ from the brow of Andy Chambers?
I can imagine green trim with black armour plates
I think the drawing of the cadian guardsman with snow falling around him would make a pretty cool mural
I’ve been hunting for that epic version of the knight warden on a single track for YEARS. i have almost all of the other loyalist epic knights and just finished painting the house beaumaris “knight with campaign banner” absolutely love this super early knight stuff!
Awesome, this lore dive, build video format is great, thanks for the video!!
I'm glad you're enjoying it! Between this and the big group build projects they're my favorite thing to make so I hope to do many more
The spare missile section... build a terrain piece with it
Some of those older modells are soo silly looking. So thanks for the insight into the histroy of the knight that will be our knight
As for colors:
A deep royal purple with a pale-ish orangy-yellow would look cool
The mix of Dark blue, like darker than indigo, on which is white (bone color) details an highlights (like panels) are painted, and on top of that any extra details could be decked out in gold, maybe doing some fleur-de-lis? somewhere. Could be a cool, like a night warrior knight.
An orange and brown paint scheme would be ideal to really bring out the Kenny from Southpark face.
I think a color scheme with copper would be fun. Maybe a dark green, cyan, and copper? Or Cyan, copper and black?
Great to see WD 126 again - I remember that Knights article so well (and the cover - along with a contemporaneous edition with a female hive ganger with leather 'support' - appealed to my rather pathetic, 13-year old, hormone-driven self). My younger brother and I were big (Epic) Space Marine & Hulk players. Fond memories.
Wut? You guys aren't going to milk this for like 50 videos on building every appendage like all the other youtubers who get a titan?
Respect my dudes. You guys are legends
One video building and sharing the history. One video painting it all up! Done :)
Feeling a bit old right now, White Dwarf 126 was the first issue of white dwarf!
How about an Ivory, Gold and Black color scheme? The Ivory panels would make excellent canvases for murals and there's not many ivory color tutorials online.
wth?? You got the Prophyrion, you got Jazza, you got Shad! How did I only just get this video and your channel recommended to me right NOW?!?!
I love all of the above and search for them actively. A heascratcher to be sure. Can't wait to see it finished and painted.
Oh godz! I had that issue of White Dwarf 126 when it came out... Now I feel old!
For the body you should try the AK Extreme Metals over a gloss black. Or do the whole thing like that as a base coat, with acrylics on the armor panels and weapon bodies. Then if you use an oil wash over the top of the acrylics it can work off some of the acrylics, leaving the shiny metal visible underneath. Best of luck, can't wait to see what you guys do!
True metalic steel paint for the center of panels, with red borders on the creasts of the panels with brigth orange higthligts, heavy damage close to the head, and turquoise for the ligths, very low parts would be black metal, hidraulics woud be aluminum, i painted a Killteam that way, and i must say its the BEST combo to paint ANYTHING
Exodite still remains one of those backline 40k factions that GW only really mentions in passing but the everyman always wonders why something so ludicrously awesome is stuck being a footnote in this setting.
For the mural, you should do a group of orks playing poker
12 mins lezgoooo I love this content, I got back into minis now thanks y’all!!
To fix crazy glue mistakes, throw the piece glued in a freezer bag, and place in freezer for 20--30 minutes
That is a cool looking model and it is so nice of you to offer the community to influence it! I'm just happy to see how it will unfold. (I'd suggest white-blue-black to match the channel logo colors but I'm unsure whether that combo would actually look good and it's far too cliché. So yeah, whatever the majority wants, I'm sure it will be fine! )
For the colors it should be blue white and bronze or give it the space bears colors either way it's going to look amazing
I would think a Purple, White and Orange would work well!
Great video, love the history lessons ^^
Blue, white, and gold
Blue and white are the Chanel colors, and really invoke the feel of midevil knights. Gold feels very imperial, and it just looks pretty (could maybe do a nmm?)
My vote goes to blue, white and yellow, kinda like the tabletop time gigantic space marines
I don’t play warhammer so I never really understand what you’re talking about but love to listen and watch you paint all the same! 🤘🏼
I have seen mentions of Purple, which I think could make it stand out, but also I say incorporate the white and the blue
perhaps a tree theme or tree symbolism? as if it was of a house protecting an Agri world?
Maybe for one of the colors you could lean into that eldar history and match that classic bright red! (Maybe only as a secondary color though, I think we’ve all seen plenty of all-red imperium war machines with the blood angels)
light minty green with metal bits in brass and an orange-red as a secondary color would be cool i think
Perfect colour combination would be white and gold, the armour panels and that covered in a beautiful white and a nice golden trim.
I know the pain of white but it’s a good colour combo
I think the colours should be Table Top Time Blue for the primary colour, white and black for the secondary and tertiary colours.
Great timing as im building one as i watch this! Ive spent at least 20 hours cleaning up the parts so far...... And yeah, lucky i test fitted all the leg pistons as the instructions DONT tell you they are different depending on what armour plate sits on them.
Pink, gold, and black with a giant T'au pinup, of course
"I have no interest in painting the cockpit, no one will see it..."
First of all, how dare you?
You are dead to me, Table Top Time. LOL
Sincerely,
Someone who loves painting secret stuff like this on my knights and models.
WD126 was the first WD I ever read…..what a trip down Memory Lane!
its so big even the recasts of the model are expensive
It's a question of time and money. Do I get like three supremely big units to fight other people's armies or slave away at making armies of 50+ units? The eternal struggle.
the second i heard established titles i needed to check how long ago it was posted
Best fit them together before glueing them! This also happens on gunpla kits , don't rush glueing them or suffer the consequences
Maybe large metalik armor plates with heavy wethearing and rust (maybe nmm), with simple black/grey edging, and bright color to resemble knight house (idk but i just think about orange) (maybe symbol of Tabletop Time painted) : )
GW must be loving the trend of youtubers making titans 🤣
Now I really wanna see a Space Bears Knight with like a bear face.
Purple in honour of Randy Feltface!!!
I've always been a fan of Copper, so Copper plates would look really cool.
Big fan of dino ranchers
GW should expand on this lore, its brilliant
@@TabletopTime i think i speak for at least a few of us but big fan of the lore while you build. It's clear you put in work with the script and Its appreciated
@@TabletopTime Read Flesh from 2000AD
I can’t wait til I’m able to paint one of these bad boys.
Colors. This is gonna be a long shot A forest green, bronze metallic, and some brown of some type.
As far as Dark Age Lore is concerned, that pretty much matches up. They (the human settlers) would look at an Eldar Wraith Lord herding Dinosaurs and go "That looks like a really good idea, Mr. STC can you make us one of those?" And boom the first generation is a human "knock off" of an Eldar Titan. ....Scaled down. As they perfected the technology the Eldar resemblance would of course be lost in translation.
