  • Here is a quick video i did showing how i am mixing on mpc one workflow. There is so much more to explore and review when it come down to a professional boom bap mix in the mpc one and i was not able to cover everything but this is a rough mix on how you guys can get started when mixing a beat or song in the mpc one. i mainly focus on the kick drums because i know it plays a big roll in boom bap hip hop beat making and also want to show how i go about finding the right kick for your sampling arrangement. This tutorial video can help out if you guys are really looking to work completely in standalone mode production on the mpc live or one. This MPC one has been the center of how i make music now because of all the plugins and expansion it provides us with in the box. I hope these tips can make your beatmaking expirience sounds much better by using these simple mixing techniques. Weather you are making trap, lofi hiphop or boombap beat on your retro mpc. Keep pushing them Beats guys and much love to you all. Blessings 🙏🏽

    Killer beat. Had my head bobbing. Great education. Man, I always thought the vocals were part of your melody samples. Didn’t realize you were adding them in yourself. Nice signature move.

    Appreciate the tips as always man! I always mix a little as I’m creating, but I have a bad habit of not doing a final rough mix before moving on to something else so Its one aspect I’m not as fluent at so the mixing videos have been helping me a ton

    • @malobeats

      Hey Calvin, it’s funny you mention that because I think we can all relate to that in someway having these amazing mixing tools available to us we do a simple mix on the MPC and leave the beats as is and move out to the next one. I usually like to mix and master my beats in Ableton which I’m gonna be making a video pretty soon on mixing and mastering the beats after.

      @@malobeats that’ll be a good video since I do the same - I bounce out to ableton and arrange/mix mostly in there. But ya, mixing isn’t even half as fun as creating so I always just get lazy and say I’ll mix later and later usually turns into never haha

      Hey, unfortunately at the moment I am not able to try out the splice integration since I do not have an Internet modem in my room I only use Wi-Fi to connect to the Internet so I cannot use the splice integration which is a big bummer. I hope in an update they could let us access splice via Wi-Fi.

    Amazing tutorial so far!! Do you have specially curated kick programs (etc)? I'm using the kits that come with the expansions,even though I have a custom program with samples from Cookin Soul. Amazing job so far

    • @malobeats
      @malobeats  3 роки тому +1

      Hey brother, thank you for taking the time and checking the video out. I honestly just play back my samples sequence and listen to a few different kicks that match the sample or cut through the sample a little better than others and select my kids like that. That helps me a lot so I don’t have to do too much processWhen it comes down to mixing.
