    Been running this in my stroked LS3 for 4years now with no issues. I do run the 10w30 though. I'm not in a warm climate all year long. I also have only run the conventional. May start blending

    Great unbiased review on Valvoline VR1 oil, I've been using it for years in older American flat tapped race engines and has proven to be in my opinion the best racing oil. I've experimented with other oils and tried the different oil stabilizers with really no improvement. So I went back to VR1 oil and have had amazing results with it. Can say enough about this oil!

      Jerome Jakubowski dude so glad you love it as much as i do... unlike standard conventional oils it holds up under some extreme test pass and races not dropping viscosity so fast. And yeah its keeps our engines nice and lubricated and nice layer between metal parts 😀😀.. yeah man 4age deff need this oil from its old spec clearances lol..

    20v oil pumps work for a higher quality gear on the 16v. You can buy slotted main bearings for the top and bottom halves. And hks pressure up kit. That would save you okay without the need for a dry sump set up, that's what I'm doing

    • @holdmywetnutz

      Ryan Dull what company sells those slotted bearings?

      Look on billzilla that's where I got my info. But you can either buy 2 sets to make your own (half of them are usually slotted) or just look at the product picture on rock auto

    I got a old chevy 92 silverado with a 350 type oil was SG on oil cap ive used havoline oil for ever but now with SN plus zinc is going down more i could used this oil instead?

    • @holdmywetnutz
      @holdmywetnutz  5 років тому +1

      I believe your engine is a flat tappet as well . The SG part is of an oil performance rating system. This oils a race oil but not a full race oil so it has some detergent in it to help engine stay clean. However it's not recommended for catalytic converters and can cause clogging from what I have read but personally never experience because I run open exhaust systems. If your concerned about zinc and protection from high loads and worn bearing I would use this fully or mix it with a high milage oil with same weigh and viscosity.. some may not recommend mixing oils but from my own experiences it's how you mix them and getting great results. If you wanna give this street racingboil a shot you will like it. It can take alot of load and heat before the viscosity drops to water like consistency vs regular oils. You may loose 5 hp but your engine will run smoother and quieter. In the fingers it has a maple syrup texture vs regular oil that feels like vegetable oil

    +Rollachiz would you recommend any of them for transmission?

    • @holdmywetnutz
      @holdmywetnutz  6 років тому

      Those oils i would not recommended for transmissions. I know Honda guys will run those light weight oils in there transmissions in na application back in the day but deff not me.. I prefer the extra cushion from 1 bottle 75w140 gear added oil since I'm running heavy boost.

      Ut I'm also in hot climate.. for starters and to be safe use a 75/80w90 if not crazy power

      @@holdmywetnutz I'm actually in South Florida, the reason I asked is because I drive the dodge neon srt4, most owners use the mobil 1 high mileage. That's when Mobil used to display what they have in their oil, Rumor has been that mobil lowered the amount of ZDDP, so people stop putting it in the trans. I know valvoline vr1 has high amount of zinc. That's why I asked

    Ever tried rotella?

    • @holdmywetnutz
      @holdmywetnutz  6 років тому

      Personally no I haven't tried it.. bit I can say I've heard good things about it because it's a diesel oil.. what i would do is research if it has a high ZDDP. . Vr1 that I run has short life of 1500-3000 miles . I change mine every 1000-1500 miles because of my ring gap clearances and e85.. I think rotella will be fine for your applications long as it's the right weights dn thickness
