Its always fun for me to test out great products by great companies. There are so many products out there to help hunters be more successful. In this video I highlight 3 different aider companies. No winners or losers just great products 👌 You cant go wrong with any of these aiders!!
Hey man. I watch a ton of your videos. I just got a lone wolf custom gear .75. I also got the compact 17 in. sticks. I been thinking of the one sticks for less weight. What’s your thoughts. Thanks in advance for responding.
Thanks for the comment. Id just run the compacts on the .75. The system just works so darn well together. I ran that system for the last 2 seasons with the .5 and I think its the best way to go. Im sure you could figure out a way to run the one sticks on the .75 but the weight savings and cost of the sticks and lack of nestability for me would make it not worth it to me. I feel like a few extra pounds wont kill ya and the l.w.c.g system is hard to beat. I bought these sticks for saddle hunting
@@chadreid1068 its all situational, sometimes im 8ft up in a swamp tree or last season on October 22nd I was 5 sticks high 22 ft to my platform on an oak knoll and killed my 8pt so it just depends. Cover is king when trying to kill mature deer. Or weary public land deer. Ill hunt low if I have some cover.
As always, a solid review. The audio was crisp and consistent. Little things like that make a big difference. I made a 'versa aider' to run on my Hawk Helium minis, similar to Backwoods Mobile Gear's design. I can comfortably climb 5' per stick. It girth hitches around the arch of your foot/boot, so there's no toe fishing around on the way down.
Thanks for the mention on the audio I finally found how to merge the 2 audio channels. I have a back woods mobile versa aider but its not recommended on these sticks.
When running a set of sticks with aider it’s always hard to come back down at dark. Finding your footing on an aider in the dark even with glow tape , paint , or a flashlight can be tricky. This made me go to one sticking because repelling down at the end of the night just is safer to me an now I think if you combine repelling on the way down to get your platform an sticks off the tree is perfect for me. Great video keep ‘em coming
Just discovered your show. One of the best I've seen for explaining the different sticks and stand systems. Well explained with honest opinions and insight. Definitely helped me. Keepem coming.
Good video as always. I know alot of people use aiders in the hunting world. I'm glad they work for them. Personally, if I wanted to be a few feet higher, I'd buy another stick. I use 4 LWCG double sticks. They get me about 15 to 18 feet high. Thats good enough for me.
Try the Tethrd Veralinks. The eight-foot Amsteel length not only allows you to replace the Amsteel that comes with the One Stick, it gives you enough length to create an adjustable aider with no additional carry item required. Great video.
Great video as always. You should also try Vital Ground Outdoors aiders and rope mods for your One Sticks. Pretty awesome setup he offers for them as well.
There is a more secure way to attach your amsteel aiders to the one sticks. Start one slot closer to the center on the step, take your loop end of the aider up through that slot, then weave back down in the next outward slot, then loop the tag end up around the hook end on the step. You can accidentally knock the loop end off the way you did it in the video.
Backwoods Mobil gear is my favorite just had to modify it to my liking didn't like the handle and going over the top step so I cut it where the top splits took the handle off then folded the ends over and sewed the with a little amsteel loop on there now it attaches just like regular amsteel aiders do I have a dbl on all 3 my sticks and can get up pretty high with 3 stix setup that way also if u wanna sell that dbl amsteel aider id buy it or trade ya few foldable Cranford steps with amsteel mods on them
After all the new sticks over the past couple years what have you decided to use most? I ordered the tethrd one gen 3s. I’m alittle hesitant with the recalls in the past but with 3 of them and my .5 it’s under 10.5 pounds. Running light weight isn’t really a deal breaker for me, if the one sticks don’t make the cut for me, I have my 4 mini LWCG sticks with aiders which is still effective and light. I know you run multiple setups what are your go too sets ??
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors I remember when you could buy a rifle, a hot dog, an icee and a pack of fruit of the loom for a great price if you could sprint to the blue light fast enough. Another great vid, keep ‘em coming.
@@MichiganGreatOutdoors ha! Yeah mine took me hunting for the first time and put me in a 50 gallon drum he nailed in a pin oak tree. You’re right when you say we live in the golden age of mobile hunting.
Not even surprising anymore. Saw a picture of the top step/standoff split in half. Scary, I have a pack of skeletors on the way and hoping no new issues arise in the future.

Sounds good thank you for the advice. I’ll use them this year. This is my first time running a hang on stand. How high would you recommend.

LWCG compacts or doubles with my .5 or .75 and beast sticks or EWO sticks when I saddle hunt.
Moral of the story, kmart kamo was ahead of it’s time.
Loved me some Kmart camo, Anyone remember when you could buy Rifles from Kmart???

How high do you think it’s possible to get with the aider chain in one step or should I go two id like 15-17ft
If you did one per stick you should be good. Depending on your gap between sticks
Truth coming down on amsteel is hard and always on the damn toe
Yeah, you gotta really dig in, which can be hard to do with rubber boots on in the swamp!!
The GEN 2 TETHRD ONE STICKS ARE NOW RECALLED. DO NOT USE. Contact Tethrd for more information.
