I already have the McLaren GT3. I am looking at that deal and wondering if I should get this one too. I do a lot of Formula classes and thought it was worth it. However, it seems this one does not come with the cluch paddles like the McLaren. I am thinking not only it is not worth it but without the extra cluch module, it would even be a downgrade
@@MegaIronicaThe GT3 wheel is an inferior product even without the APM on the Formula V2.5X imo. Ive had both, and outside of the included clutch and paddle function, plus the extra size, the v2.5x beats it in every way. If you were lucky it seems you could have gotten the APM + V2.5X for less than the McLaren wheel anyways due to a price glitch, but we’ll see of those ships
@dryagedmilk what is this price glitch? I understand the V2.5X is better than the McLaren. I mean, being almost double price, it has to be better, lol. What I am saying is that without the clutch, the experience is worse because the start of the race is sometimes the most important thing in F1. If I have to add 140$ to get the APM, it is not such a good deal anymore. I am talking for someone who already has the McLaren GT3 wheel. If you don't have any, of course, the V2.5X is better at the same price.
Mate, great video! As people have already said, these 270mm are because it's emulating Formula wheels, which in 1:1 scale are around 260-290mm. The SF1000 Ferrari for example, from the 2020 season, was 270mm. Small enough to be driven in a tight space like the F1 cockpits. I love smaller wheels, because I need that more direct response to my movements at high speeds. When I had the McLaren, I felt like driving a bus and couldn't feel comfortable with it. Anyway, if you read this, can I ask you something? Do you have a video on your stream buttons setup? I'd say Stream Deck but I don't know brands so it may be another brand. If you do, I'd be happy to see the link and watch it. Thanks in advance, thanks for this review, and till next time. Subscribed and Liked!
Just got the V2.5X for 199€ on black friday. Together with the ready to race CSL DD 5nm bundle. Really hoping it'll arrive soon. I'm super excited. Feeling like I'm 8 years old again the evening beforce christmas. 🤣 Can't wait to upgrade from my like 200 years old Driving Force GT. 🤣
Happy for you. I got the 2.5x wheel myself. I’m 67 yrs old and a C racer. Can’t wait to get the wheel. My tag is Cevert 1956. Hopefully I’ll see u racing.
I'm hoping Fanatec releases a better wheel, in a 500 range price, 280 mm at least, preferably 290 mm. Now, with the release of DD+, who knows... they decide to bring something like this. It's seems to be an open niche to explore.
i bought this yesterday , the shifters are way too stiff anyone know how to make them loose or something, they destroying my hands especially on downshifting cant do it fast anymore
Just to know, on xbox led, rotary encoders, the thumb encoders, the oled display and the toggle switched dont work. Furthermore not all the buttons are actually mappable on xbox
I've had this wheel for several years and it drives me nuts. It is 270mm, way too small even for Formula cars. F1 uses 280 and the absolute smallest GT3 car uses 300 where most use 305 to 310. At 280 to 300, it would be an all time great, despite the worthless thumb rotaries. Instead, it feels like a cheap toy.
Every day I end up finding what im looking for on your channel. Is this the same as the V2.5x ? I know the x is for xbox which I dont care about but functionally the same? Just got this with a CSL dd 8nm, the elite pedals etc all for 500 bucks on black friday. I was gonna wait and go for something stronger but I just spent 2000 on triples... Wife is gonna have a heart attack as it is.

for me its too small it feels like i toy. i want a 30 cm GT3 wheel of similar quality n price from fanatec. im disappointed in fanatec they sponsor World GT3 -- wheres the affordable wheel and i do like your review's thanks
Nice wheel but without a motor for my playstation not much use , you would think with over 5 million playstation sales fanatec would cater for the playstation a lot more, ridiculous .
This was my first sim racing wheel, agree with you 100%, if you can only have one Fanatec wheel this is probably still the one. Great review!
Just picked one of these up for $200 on Black Friday, figured for that price I might as well give it a try over the McLaren gt3 for a bit

Me too😆
F1 wheels are naturally more narrow in diameter. I just went from a McLaren wheel to this for more functionality. Definitely looking forward to it.
This is my daily wheel and I love it.
Same here. I Bought this steeringwheel a few years ago and never thought buying another one.
I love mine as well. It was worth it, and if I had to purchase it again. I would do it. I am thinking of purchasing the McLaren GT3.
I love this review! Subbed!!!

Yes this is the x. They’re all the same functionally except colors and grip material.
how did you get it with the 8nm for $500? Mine with the 5nm was in the $500s and a hair under $600 with tax and shipping.

Definitely still a solid choice for a rim.
I went from formula to mclaren and back to formula :D

Yes if using one of the PlayStation compatible wheelbases

I agree, fanatec really needs a more modern gt3 wheel at this price point.
Still worth it, still have a RS300 rofl.

They have playstation wheel bases what are you smoking? and any wheel works on playstation as long as wheel base is ps compatible.
