I’m so glad you said that about being cheated on. My husband had an affair 5 years into our marriage that resulted in a child. We were married for 27 years. He left at the end of 2020. I got married later in life and reflecting back what I wanted in a man (spouse) in my 20's changed in my 30's and then changed in my 40's. Which I'm happy I waited because it was perfectly timed for us both. Embrace each season of your life for there will be many. One thing I really wanted to say to you Michel and I hope you see this because it's been on my heart for some time and it was a sermon I saw many years ago as it changed the way I looked at things, what I had been through because when I was 17-21 years old I was in a verbally abusive relationship but he also would stalk me. In this sermon the pastor said "nothing you've been through will be wasted." So, my mess became a message when needed. I have been through many other things and they won't be wasted either. ~Donya

I'm enjoying your honest q&a. I think that's a thoughtful and respectful answer to the question on how soon to get married. I think it's important that we have the support from our community, friends, and family. My husband wanted to elope in the early stages of our relationship and didn't want a wedding. But I stood firm, and he waited and we were both glad in the end because the wedding was a huge blessing to us, both financially and spiritually. We were blown away by everyone's love and gifts. I don't think eloping would have been wrong or bad, it's just not what I wanted.

I have been absolutely in love with your videos post divorce. They have felt very genuine and more of what you wanted to do. Also, you introduced me to what church could be. I grew up feeling that I was a sinner, will forever be a sinner, the rapture will come at any time, etc etc which led me to be extremely anxious. I would cry before my parents took me to church on sundays. It was a place of just stress and anxiety. The church you went to in California showed me that it is a loving and accepting place where others actually care about you. Thank you for everything that you do for us through this channel

My daughter is doing the same thing as you. She just ended a 4 year relationship and moved home with her dad and I. She was living in NYC and the rent was crazy, especially because she was living alone and paying everything herself. Now that she is here, and saving loads of money so she travels either alone or with friends to beautiful places, staying in AirBNB's. I wish I would have done that when I was single and before kids! I hope you enjoy your freedom and experiences. It is a luxury most people never have.

I can hear you mature and develop in your words and demeanor. Your story has clearly helped many and that's the idea, that's the goal. Mission accomplished. I was in a 13.5 yr marriage that ended similarly, only there was also a child involved. However, your advice and kind words resonate with what I share too. Kudos.
You should never never let anyone dictate when you should do things and why. If you fall deeply in love and YOU feel its the right time then you go ahead and get married. Those who are negative about it doesn’t truly have your best interest at heart. Us who love you wholeheartedly only care about your happiness and well-being.

I so wish I could snap you out of that thought about societal expectations in terms of marrying again. Of course don’t rush, but holy canoli only YOUR happiness matters. You’re not living for us. You’re living for you. Do what feels right for you and forget the rest. Plus you don’t have to share your engagement or wedding or anything else if people are going to be mean and insensitive and rude. I understand completely your desire to not have to deal with the backlash of comments about getting married, because let's face it, people can be incredibly thoughtless and unkind. The other side of that feeling that you need to watch out for though, is that in time you may end up feeling like you should be moving things along because by society's rules you're "at the point" where you "should" be moving things along. I think that thought process causes people to make the wrong choices about why they want to marry. I think you're doing exactly the right thing and taking time out to find out who you are. When the time is right and you feel ready, you'll know. It's a bit like getting clucky for babies. When you find yourself wishing you were engaged, wishing you could make a commitment to that person that makes your day brighter, because you love the thought of that person being in your future forever, then I suspect that the conversation will just come up :) Until you feel like that, keep on doing exactly what you're doing and that is learning to love and appreciate yourself, no matter how long that takes, or even if it remains that way and you never want to marry again. Stuff the rules. Marrying because you're following the norms of society will only lead to heartache. It has everything to do with how you two feel about each other and nothing to do with anybody else or what society expects.

OK, I literally had to stop your video to comment about your concerns re:societal opinions on when you choose to get married again. NO marriage, NO divorce is exactly like another. Those that watch your channel now know and understand the hell you endured through both your marriage as well as your divorce. That entanglement was, on his part, a lie from start to finish. When your heart, mind and soul are ready for you to marry, when your family are supporting your choice, do what is right for you! If there are ‘followers’ that are hateful, cruel, negative, use the DELETE button!!! Life (and death) don’t follow a timeline. Don’t put off what brings you joy, what makes your soul sing, because of random, faceless people who can’t deal with their own lives so they feel the need to critique yours! As for my humble opinion (and a survivor of marriage/divorce with a covert narcissist) you could get married tomorrow or two years from now and I will cheer for you. You deserve a beautiful life filled with incredible experiences. If that means marriage and children in your near future or being a nomad and seeing the world for a few months/years, it’s YOUR LIFE! There are many more of us that will celebrate you and your choices than will condemn you for them. Remember, you have full power over that delete button! If someone isn’t a positive addition, they can become a subtraction!❤

I feel like I'm never just popping in to say keep up the good self work and new experiences but always giving advice but hopefully this advice I have encourages both... ok, I always wanted to have a kid at 32, my dad married my mom at 32 and I always thought if it made sense for him it felt right for me bc my mom was so much younger than him and I did not really relate to that, but that aside, now I'm past that age and at 32 I had a moment I thought I was pregnant. I'm still sad i wasn't. I realize it's never the right time, but to me I learned that's not point that the time isn't right, because I'm getting older I'm having more trouble with telling my self it's not wrong, that even if women typically struggle harder at this point it doesn't change if there's a will there's a way. But if I was open to making bigger changes earlier on I might be children by now, and that's something I wish I'd realized could be good.
You need to get married when YOU feel ready and not wait for anyone else’s approval….except for maybe your immediate family and close friends in which you value/trust their opinion…even then, you gotta live for YOU (& your partner, of course.) Please do not make any major life decisions based up any of “our” opinions!! We don’t really know you, nor you, us. Live your life! We’ll adapt. I promise. Go with YOUR gut. Just my two cents 😊

People will ALWAYS judge you. If Jesus of all people, was judged and frowned down upon, we (as little people) will always be judged even if you are doing the most peacel thing on earth.
Live your life for YOU. Do what you want to do for YOU. Say what you want to say for YOU. Never ever do or say things based on others because that that point you are living someone else's expectations and wants. Not YOURS.
