like 99% of their songs , "rational gaze" is in 4/4 ; the problem being the subdivisions played by guitars & bass ....and then ,on top of that , you get the brainf.cking drummer who plays both at the same time!!! Tomas Haake is A MONSTER !!!
The high hat is always consistent, it’s the time keeper. Took me a long time to like meshuggah, but now they are a favorite. Hard for me to think of a bad song honestly. Also, I would have loved to see the tour where meshuggah opened for tool.
Oooh new headphones. Ryan you were probably warned to turn the volume down a bit. lol I listen to Meshuggah when I Wordle. It is relaxing for me because I'm an older metalhead. Music from today's pop selections are a bit boring for me. Meshuggah is never boring.
I'm still not quite ready for a Meshuggah mosh pit, lol. Desperately seeking my musical inner cave woman, minus the chest hair. 😆 Actually, I was fine with the polyrhythmic sounds, but overall it was a little oppressive for my taste, though I'm sure that's what others find appealing about it.
@@spawn4582 you think polymeters are primitive? I mean this is one of their simpler songs but they are one of the most musically talented bands to ever exist.
@@spawn4582this is raw talent mixed with raw anger, but it’s funneled into a precise, intricate sound and rhythm that defined the metal genre for years after. Nothing primitive about that
Classic Meshuggah moment. Both of them are headbanging in different rhythms, yet both of them are on point.

Each of his limbs has it's own brain and nervous system
The main riff of Rational Gaze is quite literally four measures of 25/16, followed by a measure of 28/16, or, 4/4.
Takes time to get inside Meshuggah. It is worth the struggle.
This album came at just the right time. The metal industry was saturated in Nu Metal or Alternative Rock tracks from metal bands. It was fresh.
Still is fresh

FINISH YOUR JUICE

95% of the time there is a cymbal to help you keep time. Beautiful music. 🤘🏻
2:36 proper and only way to headbanging to meshuggah on the right.🗣️🔥
8:38 To me Meshuggah's music has a calming effect... Go figure lol
Its like hypnosis to me 🙂↕️
the commercial for this album eloquently claimed:
"you'l get nothing, and you'll like it"
That’s what is great about music! Soft, hard, intense, sweet, it’s up to you what you like!!🤘🔥

Meshuggah is an aquired taste
This seemed to be a very heavily remastered of the original version
Let a caveman live! 💪
Can you guys react to Mein by Deftones? Its featuring Serj Tankian from System of a down 🔥 more deftones in general is always great!

I recommend dancers of a discordant system- meshuggah; raas version. Its a slowed down version of the main song.
Very Pantera-ish😉
Reminded me at the time of Betty by Helmet a lot.

Groupie!!!
Oh no...not my style at all! That guys sounds pissed...LOL
I've never heard this. I don't like this at all.
I can almost guarantee you’ve heard something inspired by it. 90% of metal after 2000 and even some rock songs have taken inspiration from them
Meshuggah is your favourite metal band’s favourite band.
Not really my cup of tea, too much screaming.
For me it's very bad, bad music, there's nothing to even comment on.
Why is it bad?
