    Looked like the move went without a hickup what so ever.. nice👍 Have been part of a moving operation of a cabin some years ago.. We had to move it from the original site not too far from here to the new site in Sweden actually.. even had a police escort from the border to where it sits now.. fun project to be a part of🙂 Hope you and yours are doing good.. stay safe and warm my friend😃

      All good here thank you, this would have required a police escort if it has to mover any further than it did. Currently in the middle of my second cabin move, coming very soon to a screen near you.

    Hello Simon! Always great seeing you. I'm way behind on your videos. I've been busy preparing for winter and other expected happenings here that I know you keep up on. Really beginning to get crazy here. Well done on the sledge hammer. I know, I felt it too in my back. I hope everyone is doing well. Take care and God bless my friend.
    Hello Sara! 👋 Hope your doing well!

      Hi Michael, I am not surprised at all. I spend way to much time with Ryan Hall y'll which only covers one aspect of the madness. As for the rest well you could't even make that shit up! I am doing my best to keep the broken bits working but am currently moving another cabin before I get shut down by weather. We are all good thanks and we send our best wishes to you and yours. My thoughts are with you all during these very testing times my friend. Be Alert!

      @@arctic-rebel Thank you my friend. Ryan Hall is a class act, really great young man and very talented. He's from where my father is originally from. It's nothing more then good vs evil and they have lost their damn minds. Even with next month being a factor, I see things ending only one way.
      I'm glad your holding things together there. I still remain in the same shape as we discussed before. One day at a time. Wife and I went out after sunset and took some photos of the northern lights. Not often were able to enjoy the show but that's twice now this year. It was a great way to end the day.
      Thanks again my friend and yes always vigilant. I did see the potato harvest upload, I look forward to that every year and will soon watch. Take care and appreciate ya my friend. Thanks for sharing.

    My goodness Simon that was fascinating and to think that those steel rods and cement slabs stops the cabin from moving….do hope you didn’t suffer too much with the shoulders and back after 50 minutes of repetitive motion. Just amazing seeing the photos….bloody strong straps around that cabin😊😊😊. That view will be a game changer for them. Excuse my ignorance but does it have a flush toilet as I didn’t see any pipes? Thank you for another super watch. Warmest love to you all and big cuddles and kisses to Kasper from us.❤️🇦🇺🇸🇪

      Hi Anne, The pins stop a float affect on the gravel and are long enough to hit the original ground. Belt and braces affect. Your flush toilet question made me laugh, no Anne their are very few cabins that have flush toilets. 95% have an outhouse. 4% have illegal flush toilets with illegal cesspits which leak into others wells and the river. 1% have an approved installed expensive systems. Some villages have a mains waste water system or at least part of the village do. The same apply s to water supply, ground wells are at every property even the ones that now have mains supply and mains supply is still drawn from the river but there is a central pump house. Whatever goes into the river upstream gets consumed by all on the way down. The same apply's ground water, whatever is put onto or into the ground leaks into all the well's.

      @@arctic-rebel I wondered if that was the case, but thought I’d ask anyway 😊😊😊. Bugger that for a -20+ C middle of the night jaunt if one has diarrhoea 🥶🥶. Outback here one has the pleasure of these at pit stops along the highway. I could see a health problem kept an eye on in the home. I suppose water is boiled for drinking then in some circumstances. Thank you for the time to explain and also the rods. Loves to you all ❤️🇦🇺🇸🇪

    Howdy Simon- I would say the fellows who moved the cabin had done that before. Not their first rodeo. Will you be doing any restoration on this particular cabin? I could see snow falling. Hope all is well. Take care and God bless

      Hello Paul, the company that moved this cabin were smooth and fast for sure. The cabin is in perfect condition so only some cosmetic work to the outside. I will be building a new wood shed and some other small structures for the outside next season. As I type we are having another snow fall, I am currently in the middle of a cabin move which is disassemble move and reassemble and fighting the weather all the way. Thank you and be well my friend.

    They usually slide some big H beams under it and back the trailer under it. But I don’t know about the ground. You shouldn’t be pushing yourself so hard, sledge hammers are for young guys.

    • @arctic-rebel
      @arctic-rebel  3 місяці тому

      Hi Kirby, they had to lift this one because it was sat up high and the wrong way round. If I had a young man he would have been on the sledge for sure.
