- Massive Montana Field Fire!!!!!!!! 2021 Wheat Harvest
Today's video is all about the massive 1000 plus acre field fire that started at our neighbor's farm. Uncle Chris gets the big John Deere tractor and disk over to the fire to try to help. They went to try to disk up the soil so that it would create a fire barrier to protect the wheat crops. The problem is this fire got really big really fast due to the wind and it was very dangerous. There were 5 volunteer fire departments to help. There are at least 5 big tractors disking fire barriers. The fire spread into the coulee where Campbell Aviation flew in with his plane to try to help stop the fire by air. It burned through the coulee pretty fast and got into our stubble field. It burned a crop of wheat and it kept burning in the coulee for 3 days. Grandpa and Dad talk about the fire and their experience with other fires. We are all safe and so are our neighbors. This fire started when a combine bearing went out at the neighbor's place. The wind helped the fire get started and before they could put it out, it was out of control. Fires are very dangerous for people, wildlife, buildings, equipment, and crops. We are very blessed and grateful that no one was injured because nothing matters more than life. We also can't thank our volunteer firefighters enough for their dedication and courage!!!!!!! I hope you like my video and thank you for watching.

My Story…
Hello. My name is Kate Stephens, and I am a 17-year-old 4th generation Montana farmer. My family has been farming wheat in north-central Montana since my great grandfather immigrated from Denmark in 1912 and homesteaded our land. My family has been teaching me about farming since I was two years old. I run one of the combines on the farm at harvest. I believe that it is important for everyone to know where their food comes from and the families who produce it. I love our farm, and I hope that my Farm to Fashion and Farm to Table products can help educate people about where their food comes from in a fun way. That is how Kate's Ag - Farm to Fashion became a reality. I hope you love my products as much as I do because this is an extension of our farm and the grains we have been growing to feed other families for over one hundred years.
"I can see it too Kate" lol - your dad cracks me up.
Thank you for your great comment!
Love your Grandpa Kate he is the voice of experience and he has the knowledge to enable future generations to be the best they can be. Listen and take heed of every word he says Kate. All your grandpa’s advice will be invaluable when you are running the farm on your own in the future.

Kate, I appreciate your passion for farming. You are a sponge when listening to her Dad, Uncle, and grandpa to learn about all aspects of the operation. They have a wealth of knowledge to share. Keep up the great work ethic and great video's. This former Iowa farm kid has Montana on my bucket list to venture that way to see the operations in person. It is very impressive. Take care.
Thank you for your wonderful kindness and great encouragement!!!!
Fields in the uk have ditches, hedges , roads in between so no spread like this. Not to mention the rain we get.

Thank you sir for your comments. You really help explain things. There are a ton of Kates followers that are so interested in what y'all are doing on your beautiful farm. God I am so sorry this fire happening. Stay safe y'all. Thank you, Kate. God bless America! 🇺🇸
Hi Mr. Koblitz! Thank you for your kind words!!! I am very grateful that everyone and all the neighbors animals were safe. There is nothing worse than having to turn a herd of horses out because of a fire. We are all very fortunate!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow what a fire. Bless farmers to help neighbors & also to the plane, firefighter's. Great video loved interview with grandpa.
Thank you for your kind words! We are very grateful to the neighbors and firefighters and Campbell Aviation!
The Drone video showed why it was tough to get ahead of it. Some rough terrain. Glad your family was able to help out with a disc.
Thank you for your great and kind comment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad that the fire is under control and your wheat & combines are safe that was a huge fire
Thank you so much! We are very grateful!
Thank you Kate . Great observation. I agree. Listening to the calm approach your father takes in light of the situation, that is a man I would be happy to have around in a stressful times . I am not a farmer so I have no idea how much damage a field fire can do. I do happen to know that natural fires occur in the forest all the time and I feel so bad for the livestock being in danger and having to find new places to live but in the long run the fire does the land a lot of good making the soil fresh again and ready to start over. I hope you all stay safe and I really enjoy your reporting Kate. Your doing a great job.
Thank you for your kind words and great story! We worry about people and also animals because some of our neighbors have horses.
Your Grandpa is a wise man and your dad is too Kate your videos are very interesting thanks for sharing 👍
Thank you for your wonderful and kind words!

Thank you for your amazing kindness Mr. Garrison!
Glad you were able to stay safe and that the fire got under control. The drone footage of the aftermath was really interesting to see how the fire burned and what stopped it. Congrats on hitting 30k subscribers!

Thank you for your kindness!!!
So glad that you and your family are ok Kate.😎
Thank you so much! Everyone is safe!
Well done, Kate. When you're driving around work through what you would do in the case of different emergencies. Talk it over with your dad and grandpa and then you won't have so much anxiety and will be better prepared for what ever might happen. Did it for my 26+ years in the Air Force and still practice it even now. Preparation pays big dividends. Stay safe!
Thank you for your great story!! Yes we are always talking about what we do in case of emergency. Having a plan is really important.
LOL, I enjoyed the translation when your Dad said it was time for supper!!!
Thank you for your great comment!!! LOL
Where I worked in Eastern Oregon hay field fires can burn so quickly when the winds are high and are very dangerous. The farmers all worked together to put them out. I never saw a field fire when I was working as a hand on the Ranch. The Cowboys told me about them. Lightning started the fires. Great video. Thanks Kate's AG for this informative video. :)
Thank you for your kind words and great story!!!
As long as everyone is safe and sound. You can plant the grain and be ready for next season. Great Aerial view.
Yes I totally agree! Everyone is safe and that is all that is important! Thank you for your kind words!

They should add this as a feature in Farming Simulator 38.
😅
Great family, glad you brought us into your part of the world ,
Thank you for your amazing kindness Mr. Morrison!
thanks for another great video fire wind and mature crops are such a dangerous combination, you family was well prepared and you handled it well, glad to see you are all safe thanks again!!!!!!
Thank you so much for your kind words!! I am very grateful we are safe!!!
I volunteer on the fire department in a farming community... Seen lots of scary fires... I'm actually to busy farming to be dedicated to Fire Department.... But somebody has to do it, help when I can.... One of the few volunteer jobs I do where people come up to me, to let me know they appreciate it!!! Fires can get very serious...very dangerous FAST!!! Big thanks to neighbors and people who are willing to fight these fires. Fighting fires and farming at the same time have made for some long days and nights!! Great video lets people realize how stressful farming can be at times... Farming is never boring always an unexpected situation coming up!!!
Thank you for your great comment and for your service in the fire department. We really appreciate those who are volunteer firefighters because they are the real heroes. All our neighbors help with tractors and discs because it doesn't take long to burn 10,000 acres. It is amazing how quickly our volunteer firefighters can get organized and on the scene! We are very grateful that everyone was safe and so were the animals.
You are very lucky to be around these older guys like your dad and Grandpa. As you get older you will realize they are great people to be around. They've been around for along time and good people to be around especially your Grandpa. Try to keep hanging around them, a lot of wisdom to be gained from being around them. Enjoy your videos.
Thank you for your great advice and wonderful encouragement!!!! I am very grateful for grandpa!!!!
Wow Kate, this brings back memories. I grew up about 25 miles South of you and had some similar experiences with field fires. They can really move. You keep up the video making, I'm really enjoying them. I think you and Peterson Bros in Kansas (and many others for sure) are doing a great job educating people on farm life.
Thank you for your great story and kind words!! I really appreciate your wonderful encouragement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I could hear the fear and concern in your voice. Great Video Kate.
Thank you for your kindness!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for showing non farmers the hazards of field fires! You did a great job! Congrats on 30k subs too!
Thank you for your kindness and great encouragement! I'm very grateful for 30k subscribers too!!!!
nobody gonna comment that this girl/woman answer EVERYBODY in chat???? l meen... dang.... never seen that before.... working all day on the farm and answering everybody at night..... respect from Norway....
Hello from Montana! Thank you for your wonderful and kind words!!! I think it is really important to answer everyone because they take the time to comment and I am very grateful for that!!!!
So glad you all made it through this. We had a fire one time in an oats field and we lost about 30 acres before it got to a road. That's how they stopped it and yes it was an overheating bering.
Glad you were all safe.
Thank you for your great story and kind words!!!
Great video Kate! Lots of suspense. Glad that it turned out well!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
WOW! That was wild. I've never seen a field fire like that, I have heard about them. I am so glad your dad got some footage wit is drone. It really shows the reality of the situation.
I feel sorry for your neighbor. But I am so glad it only did minimal damage to your crop.
When you turned around and got a real view of the fire, it looked like the world was on fire.
I really like when you interview your grandpa He's a kick even at his age. Must really be a great guy.
Well you have a great week and stay safe. looking forward to the next video.
Thank you so much for your kind words and great encouragement! We are very grateful that no one was hurt.
When I was a kid, in the 1950's, I used to ride the train from the titanium mine way up in the Adirondack high mountains down to the port of Albany, NY. The heavy trains and hot iron brake shoes would spark fires all the way down out of the mountains. At night, you could see a ring of fire around the wheels. The fire companies would all go on alert when they heard us coming, blowing the horn for the crossings.... Glad you're all safe and the Lord switched the wind around! WillyB
Oh my goodness! Thank you for the great story and kind words!
One of your most intense and interesting video yet. Happy to see no one was injured.
Glad to see what a coolee is! I remember seeing those places in big fields when we visited Glacier National Park! Good coverage of scary moment Kate! I love your grandpa! Feature him some more! Take care now and God bless!
Thank you for your great story and kind words!! I will try to get Grandpa on video more often!!!
We miss you Kate. Sorry about your health and other ordeals. Please come back
I love this activity ….Kate you are an amazing super young woman- a definition of beauty and brain who is out of her comfort zone rolling-up your sleeve and ready to showcase and inspire the world especially the young generation the benefits of farming in our contemporary world. I salute you.
Thank you for your kindness and great encouragement!!! You made my day!
Great content Kate. I'm a rancher in Oklahoma. In the summer during fire season, our winds are so strong in Western Oklahoma that it is almost impossible to put a big fire out! Keep up the great content young lady!
Glad you’re all safe, and you’re Dad helped you Kate to calm down.
Thank you for your comment.
New subscriber and I love the videos, you do a good job driving those big machines. It’s always nice to see people that want to share how farming is and what farmers do. It means a lot to a future first generation farmer that people want to share how farming goes and the triumphs and tragedies of farming. People don’t really teach how to deal with a field fire. btw the videos are very informative
Thank you so much for your wonderful and kind words!!!! You made my day!
This year in North Dakota we've lost a lot of acreage to fires because of the cigarette flickers out the window on our highways! Good coverage of this fire looks like it went a long way up that Cooley. Good Drone footage showed where the disc did their thing! I enjoy your interviews with your granddad, I see where your father gets his sense of humor.
Thank you so much for your great story and kind words!!! Yes my Dad has an interesting sense of humor!! LOL
Well that was kinda tough to watch Kate. Scary stuff right there. Glad you guys are all right. Hang in there and be safe !!
Thank you for your kindness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Kate that fire NATO was pretty but scary, glad every one was ok, doesn’t take much to destroy a lot of hard work, hopefully the rest of harvest goes smooth, love seeing your granddad bet he has lot of great stories he could tell us about farming through the years👍
Thank you for your kindness! I will let Grandpa know and he will smile!
Seriously enjoying learning about Montana farming. Being under the smog of California, I never see skies like that. Must visit the state someday.
Thank you for your kind words and great story! Montana is big sky country!
Another awesome video Kate. We sometimes have fires like that here in Ohio, just not as big. Even the small ones can cause havoc. Thanks for the video and keep them coming.
Thank you for your kind words and great story!!!!
Wow Kate, Pretty exciting video. That was a big fire. Glad no one was hurt or any equipment lost
Thank you for your kind words! Everyone is safe!
I have always heard of crop fires but never knew they were so devastating. Thank you for the education.
Thank you for your great comment and kindness!
Scary stuff! Glad the fire got put out before it spread to your land.
This is why I love farm communities. Everyone sends equipment to help their neighbors. Half the fire department are farmers. Everybody coming together for one common goal
Thank you for your fantastic comment!!!! We all help each other!!!
One more video and god jub Kate.Thank you so much.
Thank you for your kind words!!
Very glad you all didn't lose any crops and that the fire went down as quick as it did. Stay safe out there young lady!

Thank you so much for your kindness!!!!!!!!!! Everyone was safe and we are very grateful for that!
@@KatesAg that is great! We’ll keep sending prayers!
Glad you all safe and well
I remember my grandpa had a field fire out on his farm. I was only about 10 years old at the time so to me it was very scary. I remember my uncle's helping him to control it. There were others with water trucks helping to put it out....stay safe out there.👍
Thank you for your great story and kind words!
“Kate” Well I’m glad you were hanging out with your grandpa 👴 he and your dad are really cool. Love seeing your dads new combine. Uncle Chris seems to be a good man, especially trying to disk up the ground. Milky Way - Yey. You grandpa 👴 is great to interview that’s for sure.
Thank you for your wonderful and kind words! I really appreciate them. You made my day!
The most important thing is that no one's got hurt.
Thanks a lot for the video! 😊👍🏻
Thank you for your kindness!
You definitely should continue your interviews with grandpa! I'm sure he's full of great stories from his farm life as well. Good job with your channel. Live "on the scene" reporting!
Thank you for your wonderful and kind words!
kind, positive and funny girl you undoubtedly deserve a million subscribers and likes. Greetings from Georgia! 👋
Hello from Montana! Thank you so much for wonderful and kind words!!! You made my day!!!!!!!!!!!
You all are very blessed to have as much land as you are farming. Especially in the great state of Montana.
Thank you so much!! I totally agree with you.
Great video Kate that was some scary stuff I’m glad you and your family and farm are safe God Bless 🙏🙏🙏🙏💚💚
Thank you so much for your kind words and blessing! I appreciate them.
Hello Kate. That was really a huge fire. Thanks god nobody is injured. Sometimes here are fires too but mostly then in the forest but also on fields. Sometimes because of technical problems with combines or tractors and balers which catch fire. But there are also some idiots, who lays fires willfully. God bless you and your family. Kind regards from Bavaria, Germany. 😀👍
Hello from Montana! Thank you for your story and kind words!
your voice is the best in the world Kate 💖
Thank you so much for your wonderful and kind words!!!
Kate , that was a very exciting video . you handled it and interviews very well . Sorry to see your Dad so stressed out but I can see how that can be . Thumbs up to you and best to your Dad
Thank you so much for your kind words!
Hey there super Kate 😊 , glad your all safe n got everything under control , yes everyone knows the danger of wild fires forsure n being caught in one is definitely something no body wants to experience , that great there was lots of help n extinguish it , be safe down south there Miss Kate n have a good harvest even though the yields are down salvage what ya can , keep up your great work ethic young lady 😊👍😎
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm very grateful that we have wonderful neighbors who all help each other. We are all just trying to make the best of this year!
Love how calm the old men are, been there done that attitude. Not much we can do about it.
Thank you so much!
Glad everyone is safe, you should send this in to your local news station, your like a little reporter in the field!
Thank you so much for your wonderful and kind comment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you are lucky to have a nice place to farm. thanks for all the time you put into adding a new videos on .
you do a great job in the combine.
Thank you so much for your kind words!
A great but sad video Kate. I would think the hardest thing for your self and those helping you combine as the feeling of helplessness, nothing you can do but watch. I am glad that no lives or property were damaged, loss of part of a crop can be covered. I really like what you show us Kate, and applaud what you do.
Thank you for your kindness! It is a terrible feeling because there is nothing I could do.
It shows how important it is to have equipment like the disk and water trucks on hand for harvest. If it isn't lightning, it is dust and chaff in the combines. In my part of Northeastern MT we have fires in places it takes an hour or more for the fire department to get to. The locals are great at trying to get the fires out. My hat is off to them!
Yes I totally agree! Thank you for your comment!
Or the government burning crops
Kate you are a natural reporter and great editor
Thank you so much!
Whew!!!! The grain bin was prolly freaking out, as the flames approached. Well done Super Kate and everyone!!!
Thanks for sharing!!!
Thank you so much for your great comment and kind words! Yes I bet the grain bin was freaking out.
Dang what a crazy video Kate. Y’all kept your cool really well. The drone shots are fantastic. The yellow fields with those sky’s are beautiful.
Thanks for the vid. See ya on the next one. Y’all Stay safe.
Thank you so much for your wonderful and kind words!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think a fire like this is very dramatic if you've never seen it. But it just happens sometimes and you have to do the right thing. Thank you for the insight into your important work. 🙋🇩🇪
Thank you for your kind words!!!
Thanks for the update I been wondering how it turned out glad no one got hurt my 12 year old watched with me she had never seen fire in farm ground before she's been harvesting with me since she was 1.5 years old I'd seat belt her in the buddy seat and away we would go
Thank you for your kindness and wonderful story!!!! That is really neat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kate, I'm so happy all of your family and workers are ok. Big fires like that are so dangerous things can change so fast with the winds. Take care Kate
Thank you so much for your kindness!!!!!
Wow! Glad you and your family are safe. That was intense, Kate. Your Grandpa has seen it all. Nice interviews with your Dad and Grandpa. You kept your cool also.
Thank you for your kind words! I am grateful everyone is safe.
