Our veterans,Farmers, and truckers don't get enough support!! God bless you all!!
Lol
As a volunteer firefighter for 30 years I am very pleased when a farmer shows up at a field fire with a tractor and a disk. I tractor and disk can put a field fire faster than what a brush truck can.
Thank you for your service I salute you stay safe sir
Yes sir disc will work wonders on a fire!!
I was working a fire and a farmer and tractor showed up without notice. I was so appreciative. Low manpower about killed us.
He’s containing the fire the brush truck puts it out big difference
Volunteer
Thank You for helping the Firefighters.
I'm a retired firefighter of thirty years.
I can't tell you what a relief it was to see a farmer
with a disc show up on a field fire.
This is what the real ones do. They help those in need! God bless our farmers unsung heroes in my book.
The American farmer . Always there in time of need.
I grew up in rural Georgia country and now live in Texas around a farming community. Most farmers I know will stop whatever the're doing and help when either needed or asked for. The firemen and women are there doing their jobs (and they are important) but you sir, you are there doing it because it's needed. All of y'all are heroes in my book! Wish I could buy you a beer :)
Awesome job. Farmer and firefighters working together. I have not been in a situation when i helped my uncle farming when i was younger. 1 plot of crop can cost a lot for a farmer. Losing 1 or 2 passes is not a huge loss. Thanks on the great help.
Always glad to see people helping their local fire department. Good on ya!
As a retired firefigther I really like seeing people helping out the F.D. Great use of a tractor and disk. Here in Texas the Forest Service would cut a plow line with a dozer and then do a "back burn" by lighting off the grass/woods between the plow line and the fire to burn off the fuel in a controlled manner. Have had Hydro mulch companies send out hydro mulch trucks and trailers to assist at wild land fires. Those things can send water out over 150 feet.
You are a farmer, a fine neighbor and a first responder thank you for your service
As a fire fighter of 15 years every time I hear field fire, I start thinking who's disk is the closest, only way to fight field fires! Well done
Fantastic you are helping fight the fires here in Tn we have people setting the forest on fire right now
We had farmers and dealers in our district leave machines hooked up for us. Never far from a disk! As hard as farmers work they're still always willing to help us!
That was really cool of you guys to help out the fire department. Those fires can spread fast.
I just did this on a much much smaller scale with my JD 1025r. Had an out of control bonfire at my buddies farm take off into a dry field. A few fire breaks and buckets of dirt and I got her put out. Maybe 20 minutes of work. Good job sir!
Same things here but with a JD1120, we plow over the dirt and dead cover crop and it makes for a perfect firebreak to control or set a boundary.
,,,,,,,,,,,, I think YOU are now an official volunteer Fire Fighter,,,,,, !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOOD JOB
I've helped the fire department alot over the years so I suppose your right! Thanks for watching!!
We had some large forrest fires 2018 here in sweden and many farmers saved the day with spreader wagons beating the fires
Thank You to the FD and the farmers that helped out.
Neighbors helping Neighbors.. that's the way I was raised and lived
I remember a story my father told me. My uncle was burning a brush pile he made cleaning the fence line on a windy day and left it unattended. The fire took off and started the field on fire. My grandfather saw the fire burning out of control so he grabbed my father and they took the only two tractors they had. One was an Allis Chalmers D19 and D14. They both hooked up the disc harrows and went to stop the advance of the fire. They managed to get the fire out before the fire department got their. Mind you this was back in 1982.
"left it unattended" --> that was just stupid, good they could stop it
Farmers are great!!!! They're always out standing in their field!!! F.D. and Farmers..... doesn't get any better than that.
Thank you!! Lol we are outstanding in our field 🤣
@@dirtgrainsteel I heard that song by Brad paisley just a bit ago 🤣
Nice to see people working with one another. All my best
Wonderful work. This isn't something we see too much near us (thankfully), but it's good to see people like yourself taking care of your communities. Props to you good sir
We had someone in our area going around burning wheat fields last Sumner I think 3 large fields were burnt one was harvested the other 2 were not . Luckily it wasn't any of ours though .I'd like to find who was doing it and kick their ass it probably was some teenagers who were bored. Field fires happen quickly especially in the early spring once stuff drys it gets dangerous fast . I'd rather see 5 minutes of good content then 30 of bs and nonsense. We need more people who will help the community/ fire departments especially the rual ones who are mostly volunteers. Great video keep up the good work!
It's nice to have the equipment so you can help others in need!
I helped put out a straw fire (seed and straw) with a little 25 hp, dragging the bucket and box blade, knocking down the flame with the bucked than then the rippers pulling up dirt and box smothering it.
Catch the fire early enough and lighter equip can deal with it.
ALWAYS call it in.
Knocking it down doesn't mean it's completely out.
Fire dept would rather come out and check on a fire you already put out than deal with one spreading that you thought was out.
That was very nice of you. You are a good man for helping. Even if you can't push the right buttons. Lol
Sincerely
Ed from Chicago
Thank you for helping out!
For those that don’t know, this is really awesome and helps tremendously!
Thank you for your efforts!
Ahhh the boys of BLFD! I need to make a visit to see them all again. Bunch of great guys.
We had a local farmer, that was raking his straw, with a tractor with an underslung exhaust. The tractor had a loader on it. The exhaust set the straw on fire. The farmer panicked, shut off the tractor in the burning area. The fire burned off the fuel lines, dumping all the fuel onto the fire. The tires were burned off. I was tasked with repairing the tractor.
We would do controlled fires to burn clean our ditches. We would call the FD and let them know we were burning and normally would disc the area clean to create the fire break. never lost control of a fire. keep safe friend.
God bless you 🙏
awsome , thanks for your service
I have few family members they are farmers and firefighters I am so proud of them
grass fires go out super easy, i keep a 5 gallon backpack pesticide sprayer in my truck and you can put out alot of fire with just those 5 gallons. you would be surprised. or if you do alot of ag burning maybe look into a 15 or 25 gallon 12v spot sprayer they work amazing and some of them have 40' of spray
The crazy thing is this isn't even his land......I am so glad I grew up as a country oerson versus a city person......a better quality of people.
Awesome work helping out.
I did the same with my John Deere 5200 went around the outside dragging dirt i was busting up with box with teeth down pulling it over the harvested crops
I wish all farmers in rural areas help the the fire department and firefighters thank you all farmers for job will done
Huge fan of tractors. I use a 1981 Massey Ferguson 285 and I love it
This is cool
To those firefighters the best sound in the world was that John Deere lug down and start rollin🤟
Cool video !
first video of yours I've seen and it got an instant follow.
Wish had that John deere &plow
Nice. Just like the helicopter news clip from 10 years ago where someone did that to stop the rest of their field from burning. They should add these missions to farming simulator.
The field behind my house caught on fire and it went over a mile before my neighbors got there with their equipment. The fire department would never have got it out.
I have done the exact same thing before. I back up to the ditch just ahead of the fire and drop there. Funnels the fire to a point that a single brush truck can either extinguish or soak it and move on.
I noticed that disk doing a pretty good job digging
That's why I love Case IH disks they will move dirt!
as learning question; how come those in texas or your area do not disc/till over harvested crop immediately after harvesting? great video. thanks for sharing and your time.
Nothing could be worse for the soil to leave it uncovered for longer time. ..beside preventing for fires.
We leave the stubble in the soil to keep the dirt from blowing/washing away in weather.
@@owenstrickler1185 The same here it's properly call erosion control iirc.
You run bushhog down the flames it will blow fire out ! Crazy but I've done it on 200 AC. Field ! Blew flame slap out !!
It would be my luck I’d go over where it is burning.and it would get wet and get stuck in the flams. Thanks
Good looking out
That's a neighbor!!!
Nice job dude
We do a lot of control burns here for wheat stocks an a lot of CRP. It’s fun disking the outside’s ngl
God bless our farmers and firefighters
I'll let you know I like your channel than those other ones you explain and talk a lot too and I like it
I love this
Nice video thanks 😊
Good video!
I was on a hotshot crew in california in the 90s. Always appreciated when the power McLeod's (dozers) could come in and put a line down. Less hand tool work for us.
Always wondered about this with all the wide-open dry dead vegetation. Guess it's a relatively common problem.
Here in South Georgia I do control burns every other year in my timber to reduce litter and control unwanted vegetation. Was wondering why y'all don't do the same there. Y doing control burns the fires don't get so big. Areas where we have a real problem are the national forest where they don't burn and when they have a fire it usually is a really bad one like the fire down in the swamp in 2011, burned over 500,000 acres. 40,000 acres was private land. When a fire gets that big and hot there is no stopping it.
I'm not sure where these guys are, but here in Illinois you will see small controlled burns along fence lines, road ditches and sometimes small wooded areas. We don't need to do it as often because it stays pretty damp around here year round.
Out of curiosity, what can the firefighters do? Seems like they have nothing at their disposal to work with.
This is real life!
Call the fire department? No they call us.
Some fool tossed a lit cigarette butt out the window last year and I watched our local farmers scramble like a fighter squadron to do what this guy did while the fire department went in for point dousing. Really impressive to see that happen.
thanks for helping
Nice job.
Good job sir
good neighbor
Glad you able to help it’s almost planting season stay safe we may be planting by April 10 if the weather keeps up
You and Ron Pratt need to do a collab.
The only issues we see as firefighter is when farmers try to attack the fire by driving too close or through a fire. Discing is to contain it, nothing more.
*when i do controlled burning at my land to burn the long dried grasses, i use my tiller to put out the fire or control the spread. it works 10x better than spraying water since it stop the fire on its track. With water, the flame can overwhelm it and render it unreliable especially if the flame are like this* 4:41.
I'm not being vulgar seeing examples of what my grandpa used to be about gave me a warm fuzzy.
He was a Farmall man on farm but worked for John Deere, cause they needed fixin more!!
The farmer next to our house has, whatever harrow you’re pulling there, and you’re going a goodly rate of knots. I used to do that stuff for a British farmer and everybody in our area worked ground the same speed, flat out- time being money etc. However our next door farmer goes painfully slow, every year the fore-ends and closeness to hedges get noticeably bigger, every year the weeds get worse. PUT YER FOOT DOWN OR PLOUGH THE DAMN THING!
Nice job of discing.
Thanks!
Way to go!!
Badasses like you keep many houses from turning into charcoal
Hero
I thought this was a videogame the first few seconds until he turned around 🤣
In south Australia we use skidders for this purpose especially in scrub and bush. On has a set of heavy discs the other has a custom A frame plot that levels the ground and makes a road for fire trucks. Look up Sth Australia cfs Tatiara skidder A &B
may 2023 -the link is broken
We used to be able to get assistance from land owners with their equipment. Not anymore. BLM and Sheriff will not let us. They like big fires. Make more money. Good for next years budget.
Never seen anything like this before. Bad ass.
Question ?
This is more a matter of control so no structures are threatened?
Fie is not really harmful to the feilds ?
Firetruck? Haha John deere go brrr
Nice!
And I hope you're going to put some new ones out soon
Just weeds should just let it burn, Fire department need go back in buying tankers like We had in 70's and 80's...
How you started the video and what you were going to do made it really funny.
Is it true the gov is taking most of the corps? destroying it or sending it overseas?
Most people don’t understand the first thing about farming. They think the grocery store grows the food. Farmers are made fun of and disrespected all the time. City folk and those that disrespect need to experience food shortages maybe then they’ll appreciate what hard work and what a gamble farming is. Pathetic
until a war breaks out
He’s literally driving on melted rubber and still has grip
is the tractor Left hand Drive or Right Hand Drive ??? 🤑
Did ya ever loose a crop to fire ?
Very cool
What state was this?
