@Bhojon Kirton First song "Ami Kothay Pabo Tare" is originally by Gagan Harkora, the tune of which was later used as the tune of the national anthem of Bangladesh "Amar Shonar Bangla" written by Rabindranath Tagore. The second song is originally by Rabindranath Tagore as well.
The Very first song was written and composed by Gagan Harkara who was a postmaster, hailed from Kushtia, modern day Bangladesh and Rabindranath was so influenced by his song that he copied this version and written a new patriotic song called ''Amar sonar Bangla'' in 1905 which later became the National Anthem of Bangladesh in 1972.
the song is written by Rabindranath Tagore in Bengali language in 1905 when India, Pakistan, Bangladesh were one. song is a call to be ready to walk alone even when no one helps. the same dude who wrote India's national anthem. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka are inhabited by the same people. A clear definition of border exists now but in older times, everything travelled organically without division. it might be surprising to you but we also had great cultural exchange and strong influences with Indonesia and Malaysia in ancient times
Damn... 'Dude' !(?) really?🤣 That's just outright outrageous yet feels funny. Left me with a conflicting taste. Hats off to your courage (if it was intentional) or naivety (if it wasn't intentional) to call out the most respectable, honorable person of Bengal - as dude.
The instrument at 4:33 minute is called "ektara". "Ek" means one and "tar" means string. So it is a single string instrument. It is quite popular in Bengali folk songs. Being india , pakistan and bangladesh was one before, there is similarity in style of singing.
That instrument is known as "ektara" means a single string. Its an instrument usually used in Bangladesh and West Bengal ( India ) for singing these incredible compositions. Its gives the flavour and smell of soil to the folk songs of this region. Glad you reacted to this...❤️ Do react to more bengali songs. I am sure you will be mesmerized by the compositions. Love from "INDIA"...❤️
Bangla or bengali is recognised as one of the world's sweetest language🙏proud to be a Bengali.... These songs are written and composed by Rabindranath Thakur🙏
This my first time hearing Bengali and I do agree, it's very sweet sounding. This music brings relaxing and peaceful feeling and it makes you feel closer to nature. Love from the Philippines ❤️

Actually they collaborated three songs here. First one is a folk song, second one is Rabindra Shangeet, and third one is a song from Bangladeshi band 'shironamhin'.
Hello Waleska and Efra! Here's a rough english translation for the parts of the three songs used in the video. Hope this helps... 😊 2:08 and 12:46 "Ami kothay pabo taare" "Where am I gonna find the person Who resides in my heart I keep roaming around all the places Only in this quest " 2:24 "Ekla cholo" "If they pay no heed to your call walk on your own. Walk alone, walk alone, walk alone, walk all alone. If none speaks, o wretched one, If all turn their face away and cower in silence- Then open out your heart dear one, speak out your mind, voice alone. If everyone spurns, o wretched one If all leave you in the lurch in wilderness Then trample the trail of thorns With your blood stained feet alone, on your own. If no one holds up a light, o wretched one And bolts the doors in dark, stormy night Then in the lightning fire of pain Kindle your own heart and keep it burning bright alone." 12:03 "Hashi mukh" "Sunshine has brighten your city Light is hitting on your windows Joyous smiley known faces Keeps showing up everywhere Let's get lost among all these I walk along the road as you are counting on me. I want to walk a long long way.."
Also add that the 1st song is "Moner Manush" (the one who occupies my heart), mainly written by "Gagan harkara" a bangladeshi baul poet. 2nd one "Ekla Cholo Re(Keep moving forward on your own)", is a Bengali patriotic song written by Rabindranath Tagore, here sang by "Shayan Chowdhury Arnob" who is also the music producer of coke st bangla. LASTLy the 3rd track is "Hashi mukh" by the Bangladeshi band "Shironamhin(title-less)".
Till 1947 , Pakistan and Bangladesh were all part of India. You must have found lots of similarities in music. Bangla is spoken both in eastern part of India and adjacent Bangladesh. Shreya Ghoshal and Arijit Singh are Indian Bengalis.
Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore ,the writer of this song wrote "Sonar Bangla" for his own state (at that time West bengal of India and Bangladesh were one state) and it later became the national anthem of Bangladesh. The video is compilation of his two song "Sonar Bangla"and "Ekla chalo" both were written during independence movement of India P.S- He is also the writer of Indian National anthem
2:23 Here this vocal is Sayan Chowdhury Arnob, He is the music producer of Coke Studio Bangla. He is also a former student of "Shantiniketan", the biggest music university of South Asia form by Rabindranath Tagore himself. 😇
This is a "rabindrasangeet".The song written and composed by Indian writer Rabindranath Tagore, the first Asian to get a Nobel prize(literature). Also react to the same song live by Shreya Ghoshal.

You guys are listening to one of the sweetest languages in the world -Bangla….it is not only prevalent in Bangladesh but also eastern India especially state-West Bengal.Shreya and Arjit have Bangla as there mother tongue.
Amar sonar bangla is both popular in Bangladesh and in India. Specifically in WB, Assam and tripura States as we speak same language. In case you want know
@@Bengal71 Only 2 districts of bengali majority barak valley in Assam, bangla is spoken just 10% of total population. ASSAMESE is the language of Assam. Due to influx of bengali people after partition of India mostly refugees, bangla is now the most spoken language in Tripura.Kokborok or Tripuri is the native language of Tripura.
This song really makes me feel that how lucky and proud i should to born in bengali culture ...really react to more bengali songs ....lots of love from India
Bengali folk music and Bengali (ethnic or cultural) musicians contributed a lot to Bollywood Hindi/Urdu music industry. West Bengal in India& Bangladesh (prev East Bengal) are part of the overall larger Bengali speaking area...the influence comes from classical as well as folk. There are too many people from the Bangladesh region who migrated to India during partition, and they brought the local E Bengali folk as well. It's really hard to draw a line of demarcation to separate the two Bengals at least in terms of music. Arnab who is part of this Coke studio project, was a student at the Biswabharati university in W Bengal, India, he received his musical training there, but he is from Bangladesh....yes we are separated by border, but I enjoy music from both sides.
1. The Classical music traditions of the entire Indian subcontinent is one single culture, with a spectrum of sub-regional influences. You will find the similar techniques across Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and somewhat in Sri Lank as well. 2. The language is Bangla. Spoken in both India and Bangladesh, as well as a large expat community across the world. 3. The song is a Rabindrasangeet. It's a song written and composed by Rabindranath Thakur, the Nobel prize awardee poet laureate of India, who has composed the national anthems of India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. He is a Titan of Indian culture and one of the most prolific writers as well as educationists of the Indian renaissance of 19th century. 4. The instrument is an Ektara, a single-stringed plucked instrument, used by the folk singers of Bengal and Bangladesh, called Bauls.
Not by Rabindranath Tagore, the Very first song was written and composed by Gagan Harkara who was a postmaster, hailed from Kushtia, modern day Bangladesh and Rabindranath was so influenced by his song that he copied this version and written a new patriotic song called ''Amar sonar Bangla'' in 1905 which later became the National Anthem of Bangladesh in 1972.
@@mannadiisyed259 when I talk about "written by Rabindranath Tagore" I meant "Ekla cholo" as in the title. But point taken, entirety is not Kobiguru's creation.
Thanks for your nice reaction. Actually there are 3 Bangla/Bengali songs merged togather. First one is the folk baul song, Second one is called Rabindra sangeet (songs by Nobel Laureate poet of Bengal Rabindranath Tagore), Third one is the band music. All 3 songs are representing the Bangladeshi music industry folk, semi-classic & Rock music.
Loved this rendition of probably the most popular of all Tagore songs. Loved the video too. Congratulations and my best wishes to Coke Studio Bangladesh for their debut. And loved your reaction as always. BTW Rabindranath Tagore not only wrote, but also composed his songs(including this one).
guys india ,pakistan and bangladesh were one country till 1947. and this song is sung in 'bangli' language which is widely used in india and bangladesh because u know "same country'' this song is equally popular in both countries. The song is written by Rabindranath Tagore in 1905 when India, Pakistan, Bangladesh were one, this same dude who wrote India's national anthem. Been an avid watcher of your channel, I am so happy that you have reacted to Bengali content. Lots of love from Bangladesh to both of you!! React to live performance of song "lal meri pat" by three woman legends from 3 countries singing together- Abida Parveen (Pakistan) Asha Bhosle (India) and Runa Laila (Bangladesh). Atif Aslam also sings with them.
4:36 the instrument is called 'Ek Tara', don't know what's it in English but I guess something to do with one string as Ek means one and it has one string. It's mostly heard in Bangla folk music.
I think you guys would love Monkemoner Station, Shreya Goshal's last Bangla album. It's impeccable. It's available on Spotify but check out her earlier work too if you can!
Thank you for all the kind words, and it's a joy to see you experiencing Bangladeshi music for the first time! Note to the world: These two are precious. Protect them at all costs
Thank you for reacting to this 🥺 one thing to know about the Bangla language is people have died fighting to keep our language recognized this means more than you know that you’re acknowledging and reacting to this video.
I was following your channel since a very long time. Suddenly i got surprised to see the video about my Bangladeshi music. Thank you soo much for noticing. Thanks for all the appreciation, #Waleska & #Efra. 4.33sec the intrument you were wondering is called "Ektara". A music intrument with just a one string. Its a basic intrument for Baul (a significant folk form) singers. And yes, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh we all used to be one united nation before 1947. You will be suprised to know that the bengali language is considered to be the Most sweetest language in the world, announced by UNESCO. We are the only nation who fought for their mother tongue in 1952. We have so much history. It may cause sorrow. So, keeping that aside, i am gonna request you to react more Bangladeshi song in future. @@colours8846 oh my mistake. Although its voted to be the most. UNESCO has declared 21st february as The International Mother Language Day on the basis of Language Movement of Bangladesh in 1952. The movement which was held to re-establish BANGLA as our national language.
The language spoken in Bangladesh is Bengali. Bengali is spoken in Bangladesh, and it's the 2nd most spoken language in India. I'm. Bengali from India. The lyrics of the song was written by first Nobel prize winner from Asia and India, Rabindranath Tagore,in early 1900s. Bengali was divided by the British after world war 2 with Indian Bengal for Hindu Bengalis, and Bangladesh for Muslim Bengalis.
@Forrest Gump it wasn't. I'm from Bengal. Lord Curzon did it despite protests from Bengali Hindus and Bengali Muslims. The province of Bengal was divided into East Bengal and West Bengal. That's the reason when the football club came up with people from the eastern region, they named their club East Bengal FC because they were from East Bengal
@Forrest Gump I guess I'm dealing with a stupid idiot over here. The world has eastern hemisphere and western hemisphere. Does it mean its all one. Then the Russian invasion of Ukraine should be applauded because everything is the same. Borahonondon
Bangladesh was part of India as was Pakistan before we gained independence. The language is Bangla. We have the same history till 1947. Song written by an Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore. Walk alone even if no one walks with you - is what the lyrics mean. That is a “Baul” singer and he plays the “Ektara” . This is a bengali folk song
@@Economics-i6g Sir, You are more knowledgeable than me and I have no interest in trying to take away the heritage of Bengal. I just presented the fact that we were all part of the British Empire as India 🙏🏻

When a declared war broke out between East Pakistan and West Pakistan in December 1971, the joint forces of Indian Army and Mukti Bahini later known as Bangladesh Armed forces defeated Pakistani forces in East Pakistan and the independent state of Bangladesh was created.
4:35 That is called Aktara/Dotara.Aktara basically means single string and Dotara means 2 strings.this is a very common instrument in Bangladesh but it's used in a very traditional music, specially folk music.normally in modern bengali music this is not used that much.🇧🇩❤
it's so weird to actually understand everything, my parents and their siblings came from Bangladesh to the UK, so I was born here. I dont know that many bengali singers and such. I know some classics songs and folklore songs that the older poeple sing at random events.
Ahh.. Ultimately songs in Bangla... I am not even aware of Coke Studio Bangla.. Thanks to this reaction I will try to explore more... The country Bangladesh and the neighboring state West Bengal of India share same Bengali language, music, history (before independence in 1947 when East Pakistan, now Bangladesh was separated from the mainland India and a new state West Bengal was created in India). All Bengalis, be from West Bengal of India or from Bangladesh, they know this song of Kabiguru Rabindranath Thakur. The song is also mixed with Baul Sangeet in this video. Whatever shown in this video is nothing but Bengali culture, same in West Bengal of India too.
Hello 👋 it's Bangladeshi bangla language. In India westbengal assam tripura state people also speak bangla language. It's natural classical and folk old mixed cultural song. There is more coke studio music you can rect it's coming soon 🇧🇩🐯🐅❤💚
The birth of Bangladesh The borders of present-day Bangladesh were determined in 1947 when the Muslim-majority East Bengal became East Pakistan and Hindu-majority West Bengal remained with India. Pakistan was then divided into two parts, with India between the two sides.then 1971 Bangladesh divided from Pakistan...
Curzon divided bangla, it was the first experiment of the occupationists to divide India. Bengal was chosen as it was the most fearless and enlightened and progressive area and they wanted to strike at the heart of Indian Renaissance
Do a podcast on the instruments. Many foreign instruments have reached India and are being used here but there are still many regional instruments from South Asia that the western audience doesn't know about.

The second singer that came in was Arnob. You should check out some of his work. To put it in a easy way, he's like arijit singh of Bangladesh (Not comparing at all, they are very very different. I am trying to portray how much Arnob means to us in terms of musicality, touchiness of his songs and popularity)
I am shocked to see that this many people think the first song is written by Rabindranath Thakur! The first song 'Ami kothay pabo taare' was actually composed by a folk singer named Gagan Harkara. Rabindranath Thakur took inspiration from this song and composed 'Amar Sonar Bangla', that's why these two songs have similar tune. Rabindranath Thakur is a shining star in our culture, yes, but the real creator of this beautiful song deserves recognition.
In this video, there are 3 songs. The 1st song is an original Bangladeshi song by Gagan Harkara.. 2nd song was written by Rabindranath Tagore... And the final song is "Hashimukh" which is a masterpiece of a popular band "Shironaamhin" in Bangladesh....
Ektara/ Dotara, single or dual string instrument. Very much regional, mostly interlinked with baul(folk music) of East Bengal( Bangladesh) as well as west bengal (india).
Thank you so much for this reaction!! I feel so honored and incredibly proud as a Bangladeshi. Long time fan of your two, absolutely love your reactions as well as all the musical explorations. Thanks again ♥️♥️
4:36 that's a "ektara". That's the one, you guys saw at the first and asked, and, the boog boog kinda sound with which the video starts is also produced by this instrument. It's a one string instrument mainly played by "Bauls", one the folk singers of bengal. Now, here Bengal doesn't only mean Bengal of India, or Bangladesh. They both are same, they were a single Bengal before partition. A lot of the culture is similar in between the both Bengal, specially the cultural taste. The second singer is Arnob. Man, you gotta listen to him! Please! I came here after you guys reaction on Nasek Nasek. You guys are damn knowledgeable! You guys get things, understand things so beautifully! I can imagine a talk over a coffee with you guys will be damn great! 🤩 Wish to have it one day! I'm Sourish Pramanik from India. Our school and university, Visva-Bharati University was founded by the Noble laureate Rabindranath Tagore, who has written the national anthems of both India and Bangladesh, including the second song you hear in the video. Songs by Rabindranath are called "Rabindra Sangeet", I bet you, you listen to Arnob da's renditions of Rabindrasangeet, you would not even go anywhere to listen it by anyone else! I'd say bangladesh makes bengali people from India more proud. If you ask any non-bengali people from india to say the name of any bengali song, most of them probably cannot and the other part will only know this song (although it's modernized a bit with new lyricism and all, in a good way)...Try listening to more songs of Rabindranath Tagore who is one of the legends (got Nobel as well), who wrote uncountable songs (died in 1941, just to give a context of how relevant the music and lyricism is still valid to this day and he was probably the first to incorporate some western influence to the mostly 'classical genre' from that time, N.B. the national anthem of india was also written by him). There's a saying that you can learn the songs at childhood but can only realize the meaning once you're an adult. you can find a lot of Rabindra-sangeet(music) artist nowadays who are absolute legends ua-cam.com/video/0EF6gwixrSg/v-deo.html also RIP Borno Chakraborty...try listening to his approach to rabindrasangeet as well... Look for the chords progressions and how much the melody is western influenced with Indian classical basis/structure.

The instrument at 4:33 minute is called "ektara". "Ek" means one and "tar" means string. So it is a single string instrument. It is quite popular in Bengali folk songs. Being india , pakistan and bangladesh was one before, there is similarity in style of singing.

Hello Waleska and Efra! Here's a rough english translation for the parts of the three songs used in the video. Hope this helps... 😊
2:08 and 12:46 "Ami kothay pabo taare"
"Where am I gonna find the person
Who resides in my heart
I keep roaming around all the places
Only in this quest "
2:24 "Ekla cholo"
"If they pay no heed to your call walk on your own.
Walk alone, walk alone, walk alone, walk all alone.
If none speaks, o wretched one,
If all turn their face away and cower in silence-
Then open out your heart
dear one, speak out your mind, voice alone.
If everyone spurns, o wretched one
If all leave you in the lurch in wilderness
Then trample the trail of thorns
With your blood stained feet alone, on your own.
If no one holds up a light, o wretched one
And bolts the doors in dark, stormy night
Then in the lightning fire of pain
Kindle your own heart and keep it burning bright alone."
12:03 "Hashi mukh"
"Sunshine has brighten your city
Light is hitting on your windows
Joyous smiley known faces
Keeps showing up everywhere
Let's get lost among all these
I walk along the road as you are counting on me.
I want to walk a long long way.."

Also add that the
1st song is "Moner Manush" (the one who occupies my heart), mainly written by "Gagan harkara" a bangladeshi baul poet.
The instrument is " Ektara " it is a instrument used by folk singers
Also it's called Ektara (Ek = one, tar = string), because it's a single string instrument
Till 1947 , Pakistan and Bangladesh were all part of India. You must have found lots of similarities in music. Bangla is spoken both in eastern part of India and adjacent Bangladesh. Shreya Ghoshal and Arijit Singh are Indian Bengalis.

Correction needed for point 3.

The birth of Bangladesh
The borders of present-day Bangladesh were determined in 1947 when the Muslim-majority East Bengal became East Pakistan and Hindu-majority West Bengal remained with India.

Jodi sabai thake mukh phiraye, sabai kore bhoy…
If they all cower mutely facing away from you in fear
Tobe poraan khule

Then open your mind and heart and speak out alone.
Jodi sabai phire jaay, ore ore o abhaga

Jodi gahan pothe jabar kaale keu phire na chay..
If no one looks back (to see if you are keeping up and are still ok) while crossing the wilderness
Tobe pother kaanta
O tui rakto makha charan tole ekla dalo re.
Then crush the thorns ( dangers) in your path under your own bleeding feet.
Jodi aalo na dhore, ore ore o abhaga,

Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩💖🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩
It's a Indian song ❤️❤️❤️
it's mixed. The video started with a baul song, then moved to robindro shongeet followed by Shironamhin's song.
There's a saying that you can learn the songs at childhood but can only realize the meaning once you're an adult. you can find a lot of Rabindra-sangeet(music) artist nowadays who are absolute legends ua-cam.com/video/0EF6gwixrSg/v-deo.html
also RIP Borno Chakraborty...try listening to his approach to rabindrasangeet as well...
Look for the chords progressions and how much the melody is western influenced with Indian classical basis/structure.
I was waiting for this for a long time.
That first and last song is called "Kothay pabo tare" by Gagan Harkara. Bangladesh's National anthem is loosely based on that tune..💜
That's written by Rabindranath Tagore. The man who written Indian and Bangladeshi National Anthems. These are famous in India and Bangladesh. The west bengal of india to be exact
I'm proud of my country,,,

Guys, till 75 years back Bangladesh was a part of India and a part of the Indian state of Bengal. Infact the song you are hearing here is written and composed by Rabindranath Tagore, an Indian Nobel prize winning, poet, author, composer, lyricist
