I saw Leslie, Corky, and Felix do this one at Atlanta Pop Festival 1970. They had lines of big bass amps thumping so intensely that you could see the amps rocking back and forth on their own. The band was at peak strength at the time - I'll never forget that one.
Good for Corky, keeping his music alive. It will never die in any event, they will be listening to Mountain centuries from now. Great music never dies, just listened to or played by new fans. 🎵
Always loved this tune especially off the twin peaks album, thanks Corky for keeping it going!!! And the rest of the band very good job on this song 🎸🎸🎸
Just close your eyes and remember the great times of Mountain. RIP Leslie & Felix keep on rocking in heaven. Thanks to last man standing to make us have Mountain's music still on.
I was at this specific gig, it was absolutely amazing. They played a really long set that lasted over 2 hours, then they left the stage and came back for a encore which lasted another 30 minutes. I will cherish this experience forever ♾️
Some great stuff you'll never hear on FM radio... Mountain, West, Bruce and Lange powerhouse rock at it's best! Loved: "Twin Peaks" Nantucket Sleighride, Never in my life , Mississippi Queen, 'Live 'N' Kickin' The Doctor...The Great Fatsby... PLUS: MC5(just cranked some up!!) Uriah Heep, Rainbow, Armageddon, Atomic Rooster, Captain Beyond, Steppenwolf, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Head East, Blind Faith, Savoy Brown, Wishbone Ash, Cream, Canned Heat, Johnny Winter, Iron Butterfly, Jefferson Airplane, Hendrix, UFO, Quicksilver Messenger Service...to name a few! It was great then, still great now and people will still tune it up in 50 years from now...
There's a full show (audio only) from late 69 here on YT, that I played a part in capturing on open reel tape. Search Mountain at New Canaan High School.... about 45 minutes long.
Just watched this again and it dawned on me that there might be some similarities between Corky and Keith Moon. Just a couple of good drummers that happened to be a few bubbles away from plumb. I wonder if they ever shared a stage over the years?
I read that he watched Keith from behind when The Who played four nights at Madison Square Garden in 1974, and came away dumbfounded, like, "How the hell does he *do* that???"
We shouldn't expect the guitarist to sound just like Leslie West. Nobody will ever achieve that. But the guitarist did a good job, and good to see Corky apparently thriving and still sounding good. Bassist not bad either.
The guitar player was fine. Fan since '70 (65 now) CL going in and out of the 'groove' got tiresome. I got over this.second spin. NY native still rocking. Grateful to see this.
The guitarist is Richie Scarlet, a long time pro from New York that, in addition to having a history with Mountain, has also played with Ace Frehley and Alice Cooper. An excellent musician in his own right
@@thewurm9177 Thanx, man. probably saw it before but y'all get bored. look up MQ via Dennis Miller circa '95. i've viewed this about 50 times in the last few years and it rocks. Ritchie is there on bass. Rock'd it. This is great, too !
Ausgerechnet auf Twin Peaks (live 1973 in Osaka) mit der mE besten Live-Version von Nantucket Sleighride war Laing nicht dabei. Für ihn spielte damals Allan Schwartzberg.
Saw “Mountain” with Leslie, Corky and Ritchie (on bass) a couple of times at the Ferry in Glasgow a good few years ago. Happy times.
Saw them in 73 ten ft. From the stage 8n front of. Leslie, mind blowing to say the least. Leslie was a big guy amazing guitarist band was incredible .
Leslie would be proud. Good Vocals.

Oh man lucky you! Last time I heard Leslie west was on the Howard stern show. He was pretty sick as I recall
Great drumming, great guy and the bass player vocally sounds a lot like Jack Bruce, big thumbs up

Climbing is the quintessential rock roll record.
Truth be told 😮
Corky still got it! Wonderful!
Corky overdubbed Drums on Ten Years Afters Woodstock performance of “I’m Going Home” for the original Woodstock Album and Movie.
Dude still has it
Heavy!
I first saw Corky play in the 60s in Montreal in a band called Bartholomew+3. He was a great drummer and showman then as now.
Great way to pay homage to the bog man Leslie,an admirable job
Glad to hear.Lang is keeping music alive
Kudos to any guitarist saddled with standing in for Leslie West/ no one could possibly replicate his tone 100 % !!!###
Great version! Thanks for posting 😎✌️
Great job. I loved Mountain.
Ten thousand thumbs up!!!!!!!!!!!

Great Prog rock may fade, but it’ll never die

Nantucket Sleighride is my favorite Mountain song!
All that music was from the great days of FM freeform radio!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Thanks for that great Mountain show at Catholic University Gym! 1970-1971? You know the one...Thanks!

totally with michael ketly leslie west had his sound on west bruce and laing that album has some great songs that radio just forgot shame on radio.
Love is Worth the Blues! I can still hear that riff bouncing off the stadium walls... 🎸
When I play Mountain….so do the neighbors….I’m not the original owner of that line….but had to write it again after reading it….So Funny 😂
Go Corky go!
The ghost of Jack Bruce on vocals?
Just watched this again and it dawned on me that there might be some similarities between Corky and Keith Moon. Just a couple of good drummers that happened to be a few bubbles away from plumb. I wonder if they ever shared a stage over the years?

Nice

Surprisingly good vocals here.
Neil Peart, Simon Kirke, Corky, Bonham, Moon.

Ahh , mountain and a triple shot of 100 proof whiskey...oh yeah !! ....
Hmm go Corky !!!!!
not bad …. Wth vocals n guitar .
Leslie wa killer “on guitar though. .
This guitarist has pretty good sound
Mr. Cowbell himself, Corky Laing.
They could do West, Bruce & Lang songs with this guy.
Unforgettable Mountain Leslie, Felix and Steve) and huge drummer Corky Laing

Brown mescaline. The best.
Mr. Corcky "Fuck 🥁" Lang Long Live 🥁
+ More Cowbell 🥁😂⚡🔥👊💪😎🤘
Whhoo plays bass in this version?
You got to be kidding.totally embarrassing to the Mountain legacy
Agreed. Sloppy as all get out!
Of course no one can match Leslie. I play also. But could I play lead and sing like him no!
Jaysus, old fogeys look simply awful on a stage.
Maybe….but..they sound better then MOST of the young dudes today!
Not sure who this guy is singing but don't like it. You should near ME sing this song..............
