I don't think I've ever seen this. I was over in the States doing a few gigs with Corky, Ken and Joe Venti pictured above, playing at venues like BB Kings in New York no less and Corky was invited to play on Don Odells Legends Channel. I remember this because, 1. I was using a Strat which I never use for Mountain songs always a Les Paul and 2. The amp packed in before we started recording so my guitar just went through the pedals direct so never got the raw sound off the amp but it was a great experience and I'd love to do it again sometime. The man who invented the fixed hi-hat over his right bass drum.. The most underrated rock drummer hands down.. The drummer who left a 'signed' drum seat in a closet in lower Manhattan in 1978 which has since disappeared.. And the drummer I saw more times than any other mostly at the Capital theater in Port Chester NY.. One helluva talent :)
ahhh, the old Capital Theater, where you could smell the men's room from the top of the basement stairs! I recall tickets being like $3 for general admission and $2 for the balcony. I still have a few bootleg tapes from that venue, including Rod Stewart with Small Faces. Will have to check, but I know I have at least one of Mountain, maybe two.
@@rupe53 Haha yes the men's room lol.. I was there for the Small Faces gig too.. Most shows were on Thursdays before the bands played the Fillmore East on the weekend.. Priceless memories of incredible times and inspired music.. Yes the good old days were good indeed.
This is really an excellent cover, especially with Corky , who muse have played this thousands of times. It does miss that raw power of Leslie, who was one of a kind.
Great job boys, Corky, still singing well. organs and toms worked a one. I could listen in tell my final ship come in for me tales me on that long voyage to my final resting place with my burial at sea for my 23 naval service
Great rendition of this classic.The Big Man`s awesome guitar -his incomparable tone- is missed to be sure. But Corky was at his best on this and I enjoyed the performance very much.
Sorry, this is OK, but without Felix or Leslie, it just doesn't pass muster for those of us who loved the original. There's nothing wrong with what Corky is doing here, because a man's gotta pay his bills, but It wouldn't be something I'd pay to hear. I'll stick with the records.

One of my drumming idols! Saw him at a very small venue in Beverly Ma. last year. A highlight of my life 😊
