I have been wondering why we are addressing issues like obesity without looking at root causes like the impact of GMO on the growth of obesity across global populations. Autoimmune diseases are also growing since pesticide-infused seeds have controlled conventional farming in America where we saw obesity rise first. From a capitalist perspective, this works well: create a problem, create new markets (diet, exercise, pharma, surgeries) and continue growth. So why would anyone be motivated to question or address an actual root cause?

However there are 2 types of skinny people: first those who can remain skinny chronically with normal lifestyle and with whatever they do, they eat. Second those who need to monitor their lifestyle to remain skinny, otherwise if they lose the balance, they would gain weight.

You didn't ask the doctor how much he charges. This is big business, I think profit and GREED may may be a bigger motive for those in the weight loss business than patient welfare. They often seem to be interested in only treating those patients with the cash available.

Meanwhile, less than 10% of population is fully healthy and wealthy that most people dream about. No covid, no obesity, no depression. I would rather ask them what they are doing and copy them cause they are actually living proof, than to blindly believe in "experts".
