I like how Seth was politely trying to do an interview while his brain was thinking about nothing except for that burger he wanted to eat
New segment idea! "Seth Goes Day Eating "
George is such a beauty, get that man on Day Drinking!!
100% Day Drinking material.
Absolutely, they already seem like buddies!
I am shocked, SHOCKED that George didn't burn himself at some point while cooking this burger. He seems to do it on every one of his episodes on the Burger Scholar.
Maybe he has some sort of lucky charm that prevents him from burning himself on other shows?
his hands already immune to fire😂
Rhode Islander here. My ears perked up when I heard coffee milk
Same! Hi, neighbor!👋
What a nice discourse between the entire population of Rhode Island
@@cleverusername9369 🤣
@@cleverusername9369 I wish it were just the four of us, because then we would have our choice of housing!
I had a grandma from England that used to make me coffee milk as a kid. It wasn’t coffee syrup though, just milk and a splash of actual coffee. It’s nice to know this wasn’t just a random thing she did and other people appreciate it. We lived on Long Island.
I love this man, George Motz, he is such a lovely man. And he is so passionate about burgers. He's a man you want to be like.
The Burger Scholar! Huge fan of George Motz!!
Such a cool guest to have on, Seth. Thank you for giving George and his burger knowledge the limelight!
I didn't know the searing one side of the ball trick to keep it from sticking to the spatula; neat!
it's like the scene in Parks and Rec where Ron has a burger battle with Chris 😄 simplicity usually prevails
5:48 DID HE CALL HIM JORDAN INSTEAD OF GEORGE?? 😂😂
NOW THIS IS A CORRECTION!
Johrrn Mope!
“ It’s called Hamburger America”, and the camera immediately pans over to his book, which is not called that
Sounds like a correction!
The previous editions of the book were called that.
He also mentioned the very first burger, hamburger of America. But hamburger is from Hamburg in Germany
@@junaid1788 There are many theories and speculations about the origins. This is only one of them.
@@junaid1788 I have a few of George's books about the hamburger. Where can I pick up a copy of yours?
Filmmaker, historian, and now restaurateur - what a renaissance man. Would crush a burger and a coffee milk with that dude any day.
What a legend. I love how much enthusiasm he has.
I love the George is showing up on late night shows, this dude is great.
George is a national treasure. Protect him and burgers at all costs!
LOVE GEORGE!!
This man, is a national treasure. Full of humility
FANTASTIC burger in his shop in NYC. Have visited his site just two weeks ago. And he really is there and stays behind his counter. Great guy!
loved George's video on what made white castle burgers so special when they opened. very interesting technic
And the slider still tasts great! Like an echo from ancient times but still very very tasty - and cheap!
I love George's videos. Gotta love someone who just exudes passion for something and makes it infectious. He gets me pumped about a burger and I can't even taste or smell the thing through the screen.
Seth and food segments are like watching a kid on Christmas every time. 💞🤟
Love George Motz!!!
was just at his restaurant in nyc over the weekend and the food was very satisfying. a burger you could eat all the time
Love George!
That's the 1st clip of the show I didn't watch because of Seth but because of George Motz. 🍔👍
Motz is the man!
Mustard called, it wants it's spot back as a sauce.
Try S&B Japanese spicy mustard in a tube. Also called Karashi. It’s fun. 😂
I'm on the phone with Pluto still.
Mustard is not a sauce. It is a condiment. You can make a mustard sauce using said condiment.
@@ianjohnson2193 a condiment is a subcategory of sauces.... Jesus, plz tell me we aren't about to do this. Just take your L like a man.
@@jonbeltrami6616 My favorite condim- sorry, sauce is dill relish.
Love George. Definitely have him back!
George is a legend
Rhode Island here ... coffee milk made with Autocrat coffee syrup. The next level is a coffee cabinet!
It's been decades since I lived in Rhode Island, but your mention of a "cabinet" took me back. When is a milk shake or frappe neither of those? When you are in Rhode Island, and it's a cabinet (where the syrup is stored!)
@@adolfothemidgetdamn right!
Love me some coffee milk!
George - Our Hero!!
loooove george!
George is the best!
George is a cool dude his burger place is good too, i like his stuff from firstwefeast wish him the best!
Yay George!
George has helped me up my burger game over the past few years it is so cool to see him on Late Night
Flippin cool. I did not know much about George, but I have watched a lot of the videos he's done featuring burgers. Very very cool. It changed my burger game completely in the past 2 years. Thank you
George is the man!
Congratz to George! Been a big fan since I first watched any youtube clips. Would love to visit the restaurant if I am ever back in NYC.
Great job George!!!!!!
My burger cooking has improved substantially thanks to George and his teachings. We had some friends over for a barbeque the other day and they couldn't get enough of my smash burgers.
George Motz is a National Treasure! Best burgers in America!!
We love George Motz!
Love Motz!
Man, I watch a lot of George's videos on here... dude knows his burgers and burger history. Sandwiches of any sort are SERIOUS BUSINESS!
Im a vegetarian, but I have learned a bit from this man to cook burgers properly for the carnivores I love. Burgers are a great way to have a veggie meal & still satisfy them (without making my kitchen gross to me when I clean & put things away.)
That's kind of you to adapt!
@@LindaC616 love will do that for a person, I’ve found.
@ruthbennett7563 aw! 🥰
Love Motz
These two men got me through covid. This is really something special
Might I offer the syrup first > half glass milk > whirlpool swirl > then fill cup & stir method for proper coffee milk. Also, the Autocrat should have been on your refrigerator shelf a minimum of two years.
A Rhode Island perspective.
What a cool guy
He has a good laugh
I love George. In secons making a great burger!!🍔
Oklahoma and Texas has some of his best burger shop finds.
George Motz is amazing! This is a pleasant surprise.
Mustard is a sauce though, right?
Nope. It can only be part of a sauce.
Yes. And it made no sense to put the coffee syrup in when he did, since he stirred it anyway. He's nothing more than a glorified dishwasher.
That and..."let's smash all the juices out of the burger."
George is a fucking legend. Love from liverpool 🇬🇧
George! Been to hamburger america a few times already and definitely worth the trip to lower Manhattan. My favorite burger spot now.
Hamburger America in NYC is so good, easily became my favorite burger spot in NYC. Every month they are going to have 3 different new regional burgers that come on and off the menu. Excited for when that starts! Visit every month for new burgers
from watching george motz do smash burgers, my cooking has improved enormously, the onion smash burger is incredible.
I love george he's the goat
Oh yeah, coffee milk rules!!!! I am from RI!!
Hell ya Seth interviewing the burger man definitely earned a sub
GREAT DUDE
Maybe Seth should have him back so he can do his recipe for milk cereal.
Georgie! Made it to the late nights!

This guy makes the best ice water
Hey, George Motz! Love this guy. Dude is passionate about what he does, and it's just kinda nice seeing someone take a niche field they love and make a career out of it that they genuinely enjoy doing. Man steams a good ham.
This is the first and only time I have seen George cook and not burn himself and curse on camera. As a longtime fan of both men, I am simultaneously joyed and disappointed.
I didn't know coffee milk is from Rhode Island, in Maine the coffee syrup is swapped out for Allens coffee brandy (made in Lewiston of course) Grandmothers and housewives across the state love it.
As a kid in the 70s, I spent my summers in Rhode Island... Eclipse syrups (coffee and blueberry) were always stocked. Also... Del's Frozen Lemonade trucks, fried (and steamed) clams, stuffed quahogs, and even the cold pizza slices at the counter of the Cumberland Farms convenience stores. Mmmmm.
Del's makes ice cream now....
Tried the Dic Anne's burger in Montreal purely because I watched it on George Motz's show and it did not disappoint. The man is a scholar and I appreciate him.
Just ate at "Hamburger America" this past weekend when I was visiting family in NYC. Honestly, it is the best burger I have ever ate. Was damn near perfection.
George is the Best
Burger Scholar is the Best.
As someone who is from Wisconsin, the Butter Burger is amazing!
Culver's.....😋...and I don't eat burgers...
God that room must smell so good!
The coffee syrup is called Kahlua, so this is actually a “day drinking” episode
Kahlua is delicious, but it’s coffee liqueur. Coffee syrup is also wonderful but it’s non alcoholic☕️
Nope. It's Camp Coffee, non alcoholic, a concentrated sweet coffee syrup.
George is saying, "syrup" but Seth looks like he's hearing "liqueur"
See Wikipedia: Coffee Milk. In Rhode Island (and through Amazon) people enjoy a non-alcoholic coffee syrup, the leading brand from Eclipse Beverages.
@@-xirx-leave this room at once! It's Autocrat!
this is essentially if johnny knoxville had a passion for burgers
George Motz,
You are the Real BURGER 👑!!
That Burger looks absolute 🔥!!
You NEVER disappoint!! 😍🤤💜
I have lived in Milwaukee all 42 years of my life, so I have definitely had my share of butter burgers. 😋
Culver's....😋.... and I don't really eat burgers....
so funny how impressed Seth is on something literally anyone can make with 5 ingredients, lol. Im sure its delicious but not complicated, which is how I like my food.
I was thinking the same thing. Why are people so easily impressed?
I’m a huge burger fan
His recipes are the best!!
I thought this was Johnny Knoxville in the preview pic
cool guy, mang
I remember watching his documentary Hamburger America at a Food Film Festival that culminated with Big Night with Stanley Tucci and Tony Shaloub. Great night where I met a future girlfriend and reaffirmed my love for Hamburgers.
What an invention jajaja…I only see his videos because I have a burger joint, just to see something new and it’s always the same…still I like his videos because his a nice guy…my signature burger is grilling the meat on mezquite and the onions go on a skillet worked with the same mezquite…on the skillet put butter and garlic and 5 shrimps so the burger is all these toghether with Monterey cheese and a chipotle sauce that I made…I don’t use gas only mezquite…the other one is like the same but it has slice of pineapple grilled and you pour apple juice on the meat and add BBQ…like that is different…hope one day I can open a joint in the USA, but is not easy because of the mezquite smoke…my joint in in Tijuana and it’s beautiful having a joint that people love to go to…✌️
I clicked on this wondering if this was going to be Johnny Knoxville doing a character.
Dude Motz is the GOAT of burgers.
Real deliciousness. No Mac Tonight!
Smashburger with mustard, pickle, and onion -- just how I like it! That's why Freddy's is my favorite burger place
The Midwestern Trilogy is the greatest food thing to ever come out of the Midwest.
this guy is groovy
Butter burgers are one of the more popular items at Culver's restaurants here in Wisconsin; it's the toasted-and-buttered buns that make them delicious.
I started Smashburgers in college in the late 80’s. Our burgers were so bad, I put them between 2 plates, with salt and pepper, then smashed it thin between the 2 plates. It was sooo much better and it was very popular 🤗
Bless your heart. .. my momma was making them in the 50s, 60s, 70s, the way her momma taught her...
So I’m at work, looking up information for a pt with the last name solfisburg, and listening to this on my phone…and yes I accidentally typed solfisburger…couldn’t find that name in the hospital…
That's amazing. Did you see how he fried the burger on both sides and then put a slice of cheese on it? And then, my god, he put it on a bun
with mustard, onions, and pickles. I am blown away.
Don't know how he managed. Insane.
Yeah but have you tried it? 51 MacDougal Street in Soho.
@@CharlesReicheNewsflash, not everyone lives in New York. Or America.
how do i make coffee syrup ?
But it online
Seth was clearly staving to death lol
Hope George is using Autocrat coffee syrup to keep it authentic. I grew up with coffee milk. Big part of my childhood.
That’s not how I expected him to pronounce “Motz” 0:01
