@@DonnyPZ Are you perhaps thinking of "vaudeville"? That's a theater performance though. But more or less the same era (the end of its heyday at least)
My issue wouldn't be the cost but instead the quality of sound and tuning. The final piano seems to cost that much because it was built as a work of art. It still sounds amazing though.
Wasn't something a bit off with the tempo of the third mvt of the moonlight sonata, by the way ? Or is it because I'm used to hear another interpretation ? Or my ears are garbage.
That was a very, very misleading information (and I'm pretty sure you know that). You can't buy half of Venezuela for that. Not even somewhere close to that amount of land. You could certainly buy a pretty big farm for that value, but the relative value of one currency if compared to the dollar is nothing more than "relative". Considering Venezuela's super devalued currency, you would face three problems: 1. Nobody would sell any property in Venezuelan currency; 2. Converting from dollar to bolivar wouldn't make you have more purchase power or anything (to be honest, you would be left with - literally - tons of useless pieces of paper), unless you want to buy some basic items (like food), whose prices are fixed (but you would have huge problems to find people selling them at a fixed price, let alone selling them in large quantities); 3. The price you would pay would consider the state of the local economy, but you would pretty much pay not too much less than what you would pay for land in other countries in Latin America.

That 1st piano has this special nostalgic sound including being slightly out of tune. I'm sure that certain genres as ragtime or silent movie scores will sound optimal on this instrument.

@Satalurna Reading the article it sounds like if you are a professional musician looking to purchase a high end piano, they will let you visit the vault to try them out. There's only three people who have access directly but they bring other people in all the time.
@Satalurna Well, Lord Vinheteiro certainly plays amazingly well, so they might let him in just to see what he sounds like on their most expensive models :D (IDK, just guessing...) Also, free advertising for them?

The best happy playing of all these is the 2nd one although it cost 2400$ but listening to you while you are playing produced the best happy feelings like it was built to fit that music piece.
Literally sat here with my Hi-Fi speaker setup and struggling to find any meaningful difference between any of the grand pianos. Especially the Steinway models all sound almost the same to me. I guess the real question is, how do they feel to the player. Since the 2nd one and the last one sound about the same, does it feel 1000x better to play?
This happens with most really expensive stuff. 5 dollar to 10 dollar wine? Big difference. 10 to 20? Considerable. 20 to 40? Pretty small. And so on.

Actually, the Steinway model B has the most beautiful and smooth sound. "Pictures at exhibition" is an art object (also it's an excellent quality piano too)
Yes! That’s the one I liked the best!
Thought that too! Loved the sound of that one.
My grandma has one when I was little I always went to her house to play piano
Trust me bro, the pianos sound is not $2.4 million worth. I just hear a slight bit better sound quality with the more expensive piano, than the cheaper one. There is definitely not a $2.4 million sound difference. 🤣🤣🤣
Nigga who knows that
The first one is the most nostalgic. Reminds me of High School music classes.

@@TheWitchOvAgnesi yeah but i remember that it had a more proper name
@@DonnyPZ Are you perhaps thinking of "vaudeville"? That's a theater performance though. But more or less the same era (the end of its heyday at least)
My issue wouldn't be the cost but instead the quality of sound and tuning. The final piano seems to cost that much because it was built as a work of art. It still sounds amazing though.
Wow you play so beautifully on all of those pianos! :)

The piano's are beautiful and all but if I have 2,500,000 I am definitely going to go for half of Venezuela
Lol are you even a musician
HOL' UP
No dictator would sell land
Well okay then mister Guilherme Cairo de Mattos, thank you for the comment. Now fuck off
