This is my favorite trail! Including the little extra credit patch. If you walk up that little hill at the very top where you setup your drone there's an amazing view spot like less than a minutes walk.
For the climb, you do on this trail and the features it has I gotta say it's the most fun I have ridden so far in my 2 years of MTBiking. I did go off a cliff on one of my solo rides here. Went down about 15-20 feet and man was that scary AF!
@@TheOutsiderMTB it's funny, this trail (the upper part) looks very similar to one of my fave local trails up here in L.A. This looks promising. I feel you are prepping for the Mt Wilson DH, finally! I really think you & Alan should hit it together. El P is the last section, where you’re super exhausted and merely holding on for dear life to get back to the car! lolol. Can’t wait for THAT vlog!! 😎🤘🏼
Finally you filmed Brown El P! My local ride. Just rode this on Sunday. It gets crowded on the weekends but you can’t beat the downhill-flow and tech! I still can’t ride that one left steep tight switchback. You should ride Mt Lowe to Lower Merrill and Sunset sometime!
Is this area referred to as brown mtn ?? If so I rode there in the 90’s when we had pedal power with only human assistance . Then I’d go to the rose bowl on Wednesday afternoons to link up with the LA sheriff cycling team to do loops around the rose bowl . Yeah back then I was a cat 2 roady & held a Norba pro x-country license & Norba pro down hill license . The access road ride was fun due to the decent which was shoots off the access road . It now looks super overgrown as back then you could rip down on the access road 2 abreast .
In August, I rode a monster 28 mile loop up Mt. Lowe connecting to Gabrielino Trail at Red Box Ranger Station. This was the classic 90's route I did as a teenager. However, I wouldn't recommend Gabrielino, the two upper sections are overgrown and/or damaged, and the lower section is overrun by hikers. This looks much better. I'm glad to see Tony overcoming his acrophobia, that can't be very pleasant. This one really gets going around 5:42 with great editing and a choice selection of upbeat music.
If you are not familiar, you definitely need to look into FAA part 107 since your channel is monetized. You are likely to wind up with some unwanted attention from the FAA due to the drone footage. Love the channel. Just some friendly advice from a pilot who rides.
Cool, I probably climbed Brown Mountain fire road 100 times over the years. BTW, the "extra credit" tag you did was about 3 miles and it was up to the trailhead of the Burton Trail. Not to take away from your channel but I have dozens of videos of Brown and El Prieto. I’m actually the local legend on Strava on all the main trails since I ride almost daily and this is my local mountain. Totally worth the extra effort to climb to the top and it’s a trail that is pretty easy to ride with a hardtail or even a rigid SS if you’re up for that.
