  • This is my review of the Becker BK2. I believe with a few mods this knife would be a decent blade to take out with you into the bush.

Rakkasans, Brother! The Jumpers in my regiment (PPCLI, Canada) served with your jumpers in the ‘Stan back in 2003/2004/2005. I’m a leg from the PPCLI, but I’m so pleased to see them Rakkasans on your shirt. BTW, raise that champion of a son. He’s a great kid! Boost his allowance (knife budget, ha ha ha). Strength and Honour, Brother!! Airborne!!

I scraped the coating off the portion of the spine closest to handle. That let's me use it with the ferro rod. I plan to just remove the coating eventually.

I can't help liking the "worst knife ever made." After using it extensively it is now my go-to knife. Thanks for the vid!!

Use the choil to scrape the rod. Mine works just fine.

Great job, both of you! Have you reviewed SCHF51? It looks similar to BK2 and I am wondering how it performs in terms of 3 (Feather) to 5 (Ferro).

It's failures were a known quantity going in. I'm a little surprised at how well if faired cutting.

I agree, cutting was surprising. But it's big lumbering body... Well you would have to grease its hips to get through a doorway.

Enjoyed your video. When did you go thru Air Assault school. I went in a very chilly December of 09. Thanks for the quality assessment of the BK 2.

Also the movie with Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman.
      1973
      Really well done.
      Becker's are great knives.
And I also like the lack of huge blade choils.
      They are nasty.
Edge close up to the handle is all you need.
Put the power where it's most comfortable, 👉the handle.

Great review. I hate to point this out. Your cross foot sitting position, and standing, with the point of your knife up. How do I say this, having a blade that deadly in the ready position, and moving from that position is less than encouraged. Not being critical, just safety conscious.

Say Heah Hightower, You should of said, The Famous BK-2, Infamous mean a negative famous, like the W. W. 2 fighting, But anyhow, I sharpened my BK-2 on my Work Sharp. Infact my friend carved a spoon with it. The kydex sheath my BK-2 came with was so tight that it actually hurt my wrist. So I got the nylong sheath for it. I think the 1st generation BK-2 was smaller, so if they put the 2nd gen. with the 1st gen sheath it won't fit good. So I got the nylon sheath for my BK-2 and it fits alot better and it's a pretty good sheath. I also teamed my BK-2 with the ZT Zomstro, The Zomstro is a modified Japanese like Carpenter's Hatchet. It's a Coping Tip. and a very good chopper and forming hatchet. But no way is the BK-2 Infamous, If anything, It's a Famous knife.,,.

Say Heah Hightower, You don't always have to hold a knife by the handle, I have a friend that could carve a spoon with his BK-2, a weekend ago I teamed my BK-2 with my BK-4 and I accomplished everything I had to.

Say Heah Josh, on that Give Away my name is the one with the gum on it Ok heh heh heh , Yeah, I really like my BK-2, I also like my O.K.C. Ranger Afghan another heavy hitting bullet proof knife. Yeah, A Sheath is so important. With my BK-2 and my Ranger Afghan I found sometimes they were a bit too short, but I love a choil, I wish the BK-2 had a choil, I never ran out of blade lenght because of a choil, but I can choke up better to do my delicate work much better. I got a kydex sheath that was so tight on my BK-2 that it actually hurt my wrist. and I'm not a whimp ed that played as a outside linebacker. So at first I got a Spec-Ops (Small) Sheath and it fit like a glove, but then they came out with the BK-22 Nylon Sheath with Pouch) So I got that one and used my Spec-Ops my Modde Rodent 6 which I had thinned down and the top gaurd taken off, I love that knife and it's one of my Fav's. Then I saw a video on UA-cam that featured a D2, 6" blade with a choil and then I got a e-mail and it was selling on special and first production run. So I got the Bokor Pro Black Vox Rold, it's just the right size and one of my Fav's. Now I have Seven Knives I wouldn't mind having on me if I was in a survival situation. My first choice would be my Modde Rodent 6, then my Fallkniven A-1 Oh I have the Njord too and a Bark River Bravo 1.5 in 3V which would be my Forth after the Njord, then I have (2) S.R.K.'s so that makes it Nine, WoW. yeah pretty good ones. The Benchmade #156 is also in D2. Anyhow I got the Rold, The BK-2 came with a Sheath that was too tight, and the Rold came with a Dangerously loose Sheath..I was planning a trip over the weekend, I was going to use another Bokor Magnum Series Vox Collection 2011 a beautiful looking very Retro 440c. 6"+ blade it's a beauty..I was going to team it off with a Himalayan Imports M-43 Khukuri with a Full Tang and a great chopper with Black Buffalo Horn Handle, that matched my Bokor, for my delicate work I was going to use my Vintage Myerchin Pocket Knife, it's also 440c. and the modified Warrencliff blade really matches the set. The Myerchin has a very sturdy lock-up because they use it on moving sea bearing vessels it has a Marlin Spike which I use to untangle paracord, and it works wood great and it's sharp. That day I called Bokor because I thought the Tec-lok the holes didn't match and no instructions to tell that the Tec-Lok went on at a 46° angle. But also I told Jan at Bokor that my Bokor Plus Vox Black Rold was dangerously loose, and she's a great lady and told me they would take care of the problem which they did, I got the Sheath yesterday on Monday and I talked to her last Thursday. Anyhow that night before we went on the trip, I was thinking of talking the Rold as a back-up. I changed my mind because it was dangerously loose. So I set it on a chair in my bedroom and went to sleep. The next morning getting ready to go on the trip, I picked the Rold up to put it away, and it just flew out of the sheath and stuck me real deep into my bear foot. I military it started pouring out blood, so I applied alot of pressure on the wound, I first checked if it was a arterial cut but it didn't pulse with my heart beat but a dark red flow. so I continued pressing on the wound. But as soon as I got up it started bleeding alot. I finally made it to my easy chair and leaving a trail of blood I kept pressure on it and finally it stopped bleeding a little, But every time I walked like going to the bathroom it would start bleeding again., needless to say I scratched the trip. I closed it up good with some Papp Ilona (Butterfly) Bandages and after three days it stopped bleeding, actually sooner than that but walking would agitate it and it would bleed. So yeah, a Sheath is very important wouldn't you say. Oh, the funny part is, When I asked Jan to put everything together on the sheath she did, She is a great lady at Bokor. But the Tec-Lok goes on at a 45° angle and I don't know if I like the Sheath, Oh, the knife fits muvh, much tighter and it's not Jan's fault. she's a great lady. But on the right side the handle faces to my behind, but as a cross draw it's slanted forward and the handle faces forward and I can use it, but mostly from the cross draw. Anyhow Guys5, Please don't mess with a loose sheath especially when it flies out when it's upsidedown, Don't let that happen to you. Yeah, I have medical training, But I can imagine that happening in the bush in the middle of nowhere, Yikes !!!!
