Looks good, but i would definitely spice it up with an assortment of hot peppers...Also, the two sides of foil, dull, vs. shiny; is only a byproduct of the way the foil is made. They are lathed off of a giant roll of tin/metal. Leaving one side shiny and the other not so much. Neither side has any effect on cooking. RJ Reynolds has debunked any claim to the contrary for years. I believe they even started including a small disclaimer on their box. Happy cooking and smoking!

Looks like a new house, the original kitchen was smaller. Love seeing our people expanding and growing! I have been watching AB for years and love his spin on so many traditional dishes also. What I learned from him is you don’t have to follow any recipe 100% like the cook’s , add or subtract ingredients to your personal taste and choice! AB keeps it simple and doesn’t do a lot of chatting about nothing . It’s wonderful to see he has over a million subscribers! Keep up the good job AB! 👏🏾👏🏾🙌🏾❤️

Speaking for someone that next to no time in the a.m. before work, this casserole is the BOMB. I can make this up on a Sunday, and cut off portions and microwave them for breakfast for the remaining three days (I work four 10 hour shifts per week). A good hearty breakfast that I can microwave (instead of sausage, egg, cheese, croissant sandwich), to start my day off. Love breakfast casseroles, and this one is excellent!

OMG! I just made this by following your instructions; I did add mushrooms, red and green bell peppers but everything else was the same. It was so DELICIOUS. I can't wait to make another one. Thanks AB!!

I made this recipe and your French toast casserole for a Father’s Day brunch today and they were a hit. Only change I made was to this recipe, I used 10 eggs except 8. Thanks for sharing

Looks delicious AB! I have a quick question for you… What do you think about browning those shredded potatoes before baking?… Do they get done completely? It seems like they would be soggy. I guess I’ll have to make it to find out!❤❤❤

@merrryBeth I was wondering the same thing. Did you find out by any chance?

I was thinking the same thing. Unless you roll them in a towel and pull the water out, they gon be soggy.

My mother use to make this when I was a kid, over 60 years ago up till I was a teenager and in my early adulthood. It's weird cause she made it the same way has you sir. The only Slightly Different was she made her own sweet Italian sausage and add some red bell with the green. Now since I haven't had this in many moons, guess what for breakfast this weekend? Yes Sir, with the granddaughter's 😃 Thank you for bringing back Memories.🥰🫶

Great recipe! All the similar ones I've seen call for frozen hash browns (which aren't really available outside the US). How would I add more razzle dazzle? Maybe toss the shredded potatoes in a little seasoning before layering and swap out the cream for half & half or evap/whole milk. We're watching cholesterol AND sodium!

I've never done it with hash browns it was normally with biscuits because I normally do it that way for the holidays family love it my son's birthday just passed and he wanted one so think I'll do it with hash browns but I'll pump it up a notch with sour cream on the top for everybody's serving and garnish it with green onion ❤
