The Peterson Farm Bros are made up of Greg (32), Nathan (30), and Kendal (27) Peterson. We are 5th generation family farmers who farm together in Kansas with our parents David and Marla and our wives BrookeAnna (Greg's), Riley (Nathan's) and Caelan (Kendal's). My husband built a bi-fold door on the south end of our metal barn.
A word of advice from the northern tundra, Buy a sheet of 2 inch foam insulation and reinsult the Ritchie waterers. Up here I also add the extra long heat tape for the pipe going into the ground. But you probably don't need the heat tape.
I also cover the floor with 2 inch foam insulation

We got about a foot of snow ❄️ over the whole storm here in Kanopolis. Negative wind chills have been crazy! It was 34 yesterday, and it felt like spring after those temperatures. 🌡

It is amazing to me how you guys can work in such cold weather with all that wind! I feel for the poor cows as well! The polar vortex caused us to go below zero at night a few days and my son’s pipes froze so he and family couldn’t shower. They did thaw without breakage after a couple days. Great organization to feed and water all your cattle! Hope weather has warmed some by now where you are! Love your videos, and great job Nathan on your interview!

The you have a Canadian like me who can go out skating in -15c I know a guy named Kurt Robertson his family owned Robertson implements for years they just sold out to rocket mountain equipment anyways he wears a t shirt an shorts almost all winter long and we get to -56c with the wind chill and well one guy even mad the news wearing shorts for thirty year and I had a bus driver named ryeguy Scooott who was my bus driver he went to school in flip flops a t shirt and shorts the school was going to call social services and first they can the parents and said your boy came to school with nothing but a t shirt and shorts the mom seighs and says we couldn’t get him to put on a jacket the principal says why didn’t you wear a jacket the answer me him and Kurt say is its not cold out

Cows in general know how to deal with the cold. As long as it doesn't last too long, and they have water to drink, they will be OK.
They have wind breaks.
