I love seeing reactions from people who are just getting into this series. Kaladin is my favorite sad boy and I personally loved his flashbacks, they help explain his hatred towards all lighteyes, his character and how someone with his skill with the spear ended up as a bridgeman. Now that I think about it, probably all my favorite scenes from the 5 published books involve him in some way. Him trying to be morally righteous and failing is probably the biggest source for his depression, and that's a very relevant theme throughout all these books. You said at some point that Jasnah made a good point on atheism even knowing the book is written by a mormon. That's because Brandon Sanderson researches every single aspect of his books before he writes about them, from religion to mental health and everything in between (the depression from Kaladin is written beautifully and other things from future books that I can't talk about because spoilers are also great). He develops the parshendi/parshmen more on the future. If you still plan on reading the next book, know that they're not going to be savages forever. I'm surprised you didn't mention Elhokar at any point. Adolin is great. Sadeas is a bitch. Dalinar is too used to people doing what he wants, although his intentions are good. And I love the bromance from everyone in bridge four, specially from the characters we really get to know like Rock, Teft, Skar, The Lopen, the sad boy, and everyone else they lost along the way. From what I've seen online, most people's favorite books are between the 2nd and the 3rd (not counting Wind and Truth, since it was published less than a month ago), so if you expected more from this book, know that what's next won't disappoint you.
@@trickboost6236 thanks for your feedback, I really enjoy hearing what other people have to say about this series because it’s definitely a very rich world and story with a lot to offer! I’m absolutely planning on continuing the series because despite my expectations not having been fully met in this one (they were VERY high considering the 4.66 Goodreads average) I can’t tell Brandie Sandie has much more to offer with this world
@@em.s.corner Then all I have to say right now is good luck with the next book! I hope you like it, it has my favorite battle sequence in all of the Cosmere novels I've read so far.
