As someone who loved this book but also took a long time to get into it, I think you have a lot if great points! Adolin and Dalinar are also the parts that I connected the most to. Glad you will be continuing the series- The next two books are my favorites in the series so far! (Book 2 is probably my favorite but Book 3 is so close. xD)

@@meredithnovaco Way of Kings is kind of a prologue to the entire Stormlight Archives. It's still a 10/10 for me. But it only gets better in my opinion. His worldbuilding, character development, and plot are just unmatched. I can definitely understand that it can feel too slow to some. But upon reading more you learn how important some of those slower moments were. Upon re-read I think Way of Kings ranks even higher. I will say I'm pretty sure you will get answers to every question you raised at the end there. You're asking some great questions too.
I also have ADHD and felt the same way as you for how slow it was. I was impatient getting closer to the end because I knew it was going to be the exciting part.
I really like that the book is as long as it is. I just want to keep spending time in that world and the more time I get to spend there the better for me. The second book definitely has alot more happening throughout though. That's probably why its rated a bit higher on goodreads etc.
I would love more videos like this! I'm currently reading the series too and while you think like the COMPLETE opposite of me (dalinar and adolin are my least favorite chapters, LOVE every chapter I get of Kaladin and Shallan) it's just so fun to be able to hear like the exact different perspective than my own lmao. Even if they aren't exactly like this video, I'd still love to hear your thoughts on the future books in the series and maybe some of his other stuff. (You might enjoy Mistborn, at least the first book seems to align more with your interests.)

I’ve given up on being spoiler free, just give me all the deets and if I get to the thing I’ll get the payoff from seeing it myself. It all started when a friend told little me Sirius Black (my fave) would die… now i read the wiki page of movies and stuff all the time and watch lore videos on things Ive never read or watched before just because 😄✨
I liked the first half of this review but calling Kaladin and Shallan’s parts of the book “fluff”, makes it hard to take the rest of this seriously. You’re 1/10 of the way into the series so you respectfully don’t know enough to know what is or isn’t necessary. I know I didn’t. You’re not being unfair at all, but I can’t say I agree either. Idk, I’d wait till i had more context before calling any part of the book unnecessary. I’ve never understood the need to critique a series before you have the full scope of what’s going on with the characters/plot/setting. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
this review, also, needed to be condensed because so much is repetitive, and the information could have been condensed, like take all the information and COMBINE it, and just give the condensed info, and you might agree or disagree, idek what i am writing help, and disagree, and it was so similar a lot of it, relationship of words you say, and it just feeeel like its not for me, and story of review could have been condensed please help after part 1 2, just condense, felt like every point is similar, over over again, why we are doing this, condense this comment already bruhhh
