@@kevinsingel5948 Thanks Kevin! I purchased it about 5 years ago and love checking out new places in it. Thanks for all the work you put into it. I live in Omaha and use the book like an adventure guide when we plan trips up into the mountains. It's an extremely helpful resource for the hobby prospectors out there.
@@kevinsingel7213 I looked for the second book a couple of different places when we were out there but they were sold out. I'll have to just order it online.
@@kevinsingel7213 I stayed up in Keystone for 2 nights and looked at a couple outdoors type stores up there. Not sure what the names were. We were just walking through the little shops on the resort. I was going to pick it up at High Alpine Sports when I bought the mining permit for Fairplay. The owner said they didn't have them there either so I figured I could just order it online. If you'd like to mail me one that would be awesome, just let me know how to pay ya for it! Thanks again!
I like your trick of using painter’s tape to label your cons. I think I’ll do that too! Further classification will make your panning faster and easier. Get yourself a 50 mesh classifier just like your 20 mesh. Maybe a 40 and an 80 would be even better!
A tip for next time: never put dry material into your sluice. Fine, dry gold will float right out of the sluice. Instead, add some water into your bucket of paydirt before you start feeding it into the sluice.
@@kevinsingel5948 I usually wet classify the material so that isn't an issue. I was just trying to do too much in a short time that day, since we had other plans to get to.
Nice color, good job
Thanks! I wish I had a few more days to spend exploring the park. I would love to visit there again in the future!
Wow that looks like a fun place to go and dig all day! You did much better than I expected! 😊
@@WildKatProspecting Yeah I wish I would have had a few days to spend there! It feels like it has a ton of potential!
Still a lot of water considering it's July....
Nice work!
@@Mattytube18 Yeah they had a ton of snow up there this winter. Levels are dropping by the day though.
I’m honored that you read the site intro from my book. I hope the book leads you to lots of great adventures!

@@DeweyPierce76interesting. Do you remember where you looked?
Also since you live outside of CO, I can mail it to you if you’d like!?!

When you mine at Fairplay do you stick to the lower creek bed material or play the tailings pile lottery?
@@DeweyPierce76I’ve done both…the tailings piles are often better
