PSU offense got much better once Yurcich opened up the playbook a little bit. This was one hell of a test to start the season. Going against the B1G west favorite in their own packed house in week 1 is no joke. Big up to Wisconsin, hopefully we see you in Indy in December

As a Penn State fan and season ticket holders son since the 1970's I have the most absolute respect for Wisconsin's football program! They have a great student section, good coaching, and some of the nicest fans on the internet. And I love the cheese from their proud state!
As a Michigan fan I feel pretty much the same about both teams in this game. Both came to play against us, and coincidentally both QBs got knocked around pretty bad by the Michigan defense
I love Gus Johnson's announcing skills in both college ball, and NFL. Pretty good at college basketball too. So talented. Sometimes I get chills the way he calls a big play!

If Clifford was any kind of competent, Penn State would have won this game by 10 points; he has the best receiver in college (Dotson) and a bonafide playmaker and up and comer in Parker Washington and he needs to utilize these two in the very near future.
Yeah I’ve never been too high on Clifford he’s got all these great players around him and he’s always mediocre at best. I think it’s time to move on if he doesn’t improve this year

3 things I learned from this game
1. T.O.P. doesn't mean shit if you can't score
2. Whoever wins the turnover battle usually wins
3. The targeting penalty needs to be taken out of the game

Winning at home is great, and there’s no place like Happy Valley, but there’s something so sweet about going on the road as an underdog and just RUINING someone’s sh*t. Beating a team ranked higher than you in their own house is awesome. Michigan, you should try it sometime.
Exactly! And you have people on here complaining about Clifford, who I'll admit isn't the best and he stunk it up in the first half just like the rest of the offense, but he turned it around when he had to. These people have to understand that this was a conference opener on the road against a tough opponent and everybody was picking against us. As for me, I'll take an ugly win like this every Saturday this season.

Penn State’s best players are better than Wisconsin’s best players. That’s why every big play went their way and why they went into Madison and won. Where the game was played means a lot more than you realize.

This game was crazy. Mertz could’ve won it at the end but he missed on a key throw
linebacker caused the missed throw, jumped high enough that mertz had to adjust the throw
It wasn't just him. Running back fumbled inside the 10 (turnover) and a blocked fg when inside the 10.
Bullshit targeting call btw...lead with the shoulder. Head contact was incidental. That rule needs to change

Factor incidental head contact into the review decision whether or not to apply the penalty. I think it should also just be a little looser overall. There are egregious head to head hits that should be penalized but this wasn't one and I think the rule is applied a little too much.
Idk who the commentator is but I love how in tune he is with the game 😭 made it so much fun for me to watch

Wisconsin, so many chances to score and they couldn't get the points. A lot of emotions went into this game. Next games for both these teams should be interesting to watch. You don't want to play the Badgers next. Penn State could have let down, after such a win. A long season to go.

This game was fun as hell to watch, PROOF that stats aren’t everything. If you watched this highlight video after only looking at the stat sheet like I did, it would totally change your mind on this game. Nothing more exciting than waiting to see who can capitalize more off turnovers, good field position, and blown opportunities!

7:52 False start on both 82 and 84. Both jumped before the snap. 84's left leg twitches and thus 82 jumps from that twitch in 84. 82 has to put hands down to prevent from falling.

Just thoughts. If Wisconsin can open holes and run like that, I saw a lot of tackles that wouldn't bring down Bigsby or Hunter. Clifford has potential, but that back foot...I'm not sure if he can stay healthy if he gets hit 6 times this game. Noah Cain is good, but his OIL is not. Tackles seem slow handling speed on the outside. #1 is no joke. About to look him up, but he saved a touched around the 2:15 mark. If he doesn't make that Superman dive, that RB is gone. Sticking with Auburn 34-10.

This is the first targeting call I remember seeing where the guy who got hit didn't even fall down
They called targeting because the helmets did in fact hit, but you are right, they ignored the defender led with his right shoulder (and entire arm for that matter). Bad call. That was also the difference between 4th down and a fresh set of downs late in the 4th. Huge mistake, but fortunately, did not turn the outcome.
The whole targeting rule is a joke!! The Refs NEVER get it right. Then the ejection of the player is even worse. Klatt is always talking about how the ruling should be changed!!!
