Cracker Barrel is subject to the double whammy of Dine and Dash as well as Shoplifting. The same criminals get to conduct two separate crimes in one location.
I believe there are several other reasons, somewhat related: It's getting more and more difficult to do business in "woke" areas due to senseless regulations, and also increasingly difficult to find anyone to do service work with any kind of work ethic... without also demanding wage equality with really skilled and productive workers.
@@spacerconrad Speaking of work ethic: My friend has a 20 year old son. I saw the son at a party and I offered him a job as a cable technician with pay of $40 an hour. Then later the guy that trained this son for a day asked me "where did you find this guy? This guy just wants to be a manager and get paid just to exist. He wants to work 9-1pm only on days he wants, etc". Later I called the son myself trying to figure if maybe he didnt understand what the position entails. The son actually started to blame me and my company for being unprofessional. Like, he wanted me to apologize for my trainer not calling him back or something, and then for me to beg for him to come work for my company. That's so wrong, & cruel. Many older people, & working single moms have no way to leave so many of these places. It's not their fault, they matter as much as anyone else.
Believe it or not there are people who don't like to live a nomadic existence, moving from town to town, city to city, state to state. Take me for instance, I've been living in Battle Creek, Michigan for 22 years. I've got a 4 acre country estate surrounded by over 100 acres of woods and wetlands. No sir, you couldn't drag me away.
@@USSTOLEDOSSN769 It's a big world out there, I guess being an ex-Military person I'm used to your nomadic life existence as you put it, and actually enjoy different places and people and thik it is a good thing to be able to move away from those disagreeable ones rather than having to deal with or in some cases kill them.

They should make friends with Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson.
I’m about an hour south of Portland and while I didn’t eat there often (Celiac) it’s sad to see them go. Lots of family memories in a Cracker Barrel, but honestly don’t blame them for leaving. The great city of Portland, once touted as being one of the best places to live by Oprah, is now a cesspool of degenerates. It’s all thanks to the people running this state into the ground and stomping on it as it dies.
I feel sorry for the local residents that didn’t vote for this.
There are none.
You mean people who regret voting for it? Seems like the majority must have voted for it if it happened lol
@@Algorythmfpv You think these old people from Georgia are voting blue 😐
@@xulula7035 More than likely. Probably the whole reason they moved. Tired of the politics of the south but now they can’t eat Cracker Barrel. 😂😂😂
All four of them
Well brace yourself Oregon you’re gonna have a lot of places shutting down and leaving your liberal policies are bearing fruit keep voting the way you’re voting
The whole state isn’t liberal. It’s just the big cities like in other states like IL and AZ. They ruin the whole state
Get Woke go broke!
Oh look, politics.🙄
Don't worry, progressives will move their cancer elsewhere.
@@darkreigncometh What else would cause a mass exodus?
Happy to see the summer of love continue.
Unsheltered street homeless are fentanyl addicts, and fentanyl destroys humans mentally and physically beyond the point of repair very quickly. They will destroy any housing we put them in because they are not mentally capable of living in an organized manner. Millions will die from fentanyl and other destructive synthetic chemicals in the states just in this decade. Fentanyl pills called blues/M30 contain fentanyl, rat poison, horse tranquilizer TRANQ, benzo, ISO, nitazene chemicals, etc. They gradually destroy everything around themselves. It will only get worse my friends.
I loved Portland in the 1990's. I went to college out there and the city was fun to go to. You felt safe and it always had a great energy. Unfortunately, the crazies found it and claim it.
Did you notice they didn’t give a reason for the closing. But everyone knows why.
They can't say the reason, it's "racist"
Local shops closing, Starbucks, Walmart, now Cracker Barrel and news reporters don't know why. Everyone except the reporters know why.
Regurgitator, not reporter
They know why. They just aren't allowed to say for fear of losing their jobs.
@@pwessie4pwesident941 say what you mean and mean what you say
When reporters no report what a shame
They support democrat policies. Of course businesses are closing.
looks like every business is leaving . they have killed their own town
The "reporter" was actually blaming this on the pandemic. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Covid killed 1,000,000 people over 60 y/o.....which were their main customers.
1 Million people over 60 y/o died from Covid, but people under 40 y/o were little affected.
Only because she couldn't figure out a way to pin it on Trump. haha
It's pronounced Plandemic 😅
I blame it all on the BLM riots!
I feel bad for the folks that lost their jobs, horrible.
I don't feel bad they got what they voted for.
Me too. Loving the food at the barrel I feel bad for the patrons. But, I steer clear of blue states and cities.
They probably had a hard time hiring qualified people.
@@marksday4936 Please do, incel
@@tinaleanne8230 You do realize not every single person votes the same way just because of an election right? Then again, you probably judge people solely on race too with that kind of attitude.
Weird how other Cracker Barrel’s are able to stay in business despite the pandemic
They do more than stay in business... you can't get in the parking lot of a cracker barrel anywhere near where I live... Crazy busy!
They're only closing the one's in blue cities and blue states!
Frankly, I never saw the attraction. 🤨
@@robertdesantis6205 the thieven woke fekers in Portland love em! They can dine and dash and grab something from the store on thier way out.

So do I. So sad for them.
🤣🤣🤣
Hopefully they will be out of their misery soon….
Portland is particularly cruel to older people who can't afford to move out of this rapidly decaying city.
Yet another story of business leaving Oregon,
Nevermind that silly local news. Go straight to the comments.
Portland , like San Francisco, is dying.....and you all know why.
Is it worth it?
Add Seatlle, LA, San Diego, Austin TX, Albuquerque, Houston, Dallas, Chicago etc etc.
they are to dumb to know it. i lived in oregon 20 years. i moved away 2 years ago. the place is destroying itself.
While I’d like to agree with you, statistics do not. Lots of new homes and luxury condos being built in Portland and are being bought VERY quickly.
That said, I don’t understand it.
@@MOUNTAINOUS Reading through the comment section you're spot on. They act as though the entire franchise is closing down nation wide.
At some point the citizens have to stand up and put an end this nonsense themselves!
The citizens can but they keep voting the same "crooks" at the city hall...
Why?! It’s exactly what they bleated for.
So you expect citizens to pay for a private business' security? Why cant Walmart and these private, billion dollar corporations hire more security guards, or change the way they're doing business to prevent theft? Why should tax dollars be spent on that?
This is what they have been indoctrinated for by the loonie left
@@id10t98 It's called "Public Safety" for a reason. The government's first responsibility is to keep the Public safe.
Everyone knows why store chains are pulling out of the area but the newscasters won't talk about it
Yup. Republican owned businesses are done.
City politicians would never eat there anyway. too much of a normal family atmosphere.
Oregon isn't going to get any better until the liberals are removed from power. That having said, Oregon is a total, irreparable loss. I moved out of Oregon a couple months ago and my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner.
Whenever a business (Cracker Barrel or even Walmart) can't expect their staff or customers to be relatively safe, it's in their best interest to close and focus on the other locations.
If you're in a highly populated city and don't have Walmart, Cracker Barrel, or a Chickfila chances are you too should leave.
