Whatever way one may view this situation, I hope we can agree that this is a serious situation that needs a real solution. What, I am not sure; but I do believe that solutions will only come out of true compassion and respect for all included. Please take care and be kind to one another.
Build more prisons and mandatory drug treatment centers. Reopen all the mental institutions we closed years ago so people who can’t live life on life’s terms have a place to be cared for rather then rot on the streets.
The solution is to get a majority of the residents to sign a petition that disallows overnight parking on your street. Then the judge signs an order for signs to block them. In Manzanita the elders did it and have a sign that blocks overnight idling. Just a trucker idling all night over time can vibrate a property into rubble. It's so annoying it causes extreme health problems like ear aches and migraines. Call the health department en masse to complain about the health problems it's causing you all. I got one now in my town driving around every few hours with extreme bass music nearly 24/7. They come by every few hours to waken everyone with the bass so loud it causes instant debilitating earaches and migraines. It really effects people with vascular disorders like extra veins or blockages.
Of course they are back. Where else are they going to go? You can chase them out, they’ll go somewhere else, they’ll get chased out of there, they’ll go back to where they were before. Just chasing homeless people away isn’t going to fix it. They need HOMES.
Why people can't realize this simple fact is beyond me. Oh yeah, because it's easier to condemn the individual and feel superior. As housing and rent continues to rise and more jobs are lost, we are going to see an increase in homelessness in every city and town across the nation, and sooner rather than later we're going to have to collectively come to terms with it and formulate real ways on how to solve it. Housing should be treated as the basic necessity that it is and not a privatized commodity which can be stripped from an individual the moment that their bank account no longer matches their needs.
Follow the money, it’s more profitable to let the homeless problem and crime run rampant. It’s always about the money not about the law abiding citizens.
Follow the money: Boomers like seeing their house is worth almost a million dollars, even though it's not real money, it makes them FEEL good. Thus, 20 years into this crisis there is literally no movement to relax land use restrictions and build more housing.
California is now planning to spend millions to address their state's homeless problem. Oregon and local municipalities should do the same. If not, then rent a bus to take the homeless to California where they can at least get more help than here.
The people aren't homeless. They are in RVs by their own choosing and spent a lot of money on it. What we have here is a parking violation problem. Someone may have to pay towing fees if they aren't careful.
Unsheltered street homeless are fentanyl addicts, and fentanyl destroys humans mentally and physically beyond the point of repair very quickly. The veteran has so much resources available. Disability money, going back to school and getting paid to do so, so much help from the va. How are you not trying harder
Nobody wants to live in a homeless shelter. There's a lot of violence and theft. Cant brink your dog or any property. And you have to be out at 7 and back before 8 or something like that. It's like a jail.
What the hell is the solution for this??? Sooo many hard working people who pay for their dues and taxes are suffering from trauma - seeing THEM being drugged out, SEEING THEM PREPPING THEIR DRUG KITS NEXT TO FOOD CHAINS where families esp with KIDS see them do their sht, TRAUMATIZING those who just want to have a quick stroll - scared of being mugged or chased by the homeless druggies .. yet they DO NOTHING to contribute anything. This is getting out of hand somebody someone needs to do something.
Gee Pat! Thanks for belittling those of us that choose to not live in the dumpster fire of Portland. I drive an hour to work there and I hate every second of it. I saw the writing on the wall years ago. I'm born Oregonian and I can't believe what things have come to. You're part of the problem. The main problem is the people that keep voting for the politicians that allow this. You and KGW with your bias pro lib reporting are a major factor of that. You are a major contributor to this problem.
Imagine if you were to correct the drug addicts allowed to never suffer the consequences. My guess if you clean up the druggies, your homeless issues would disappear. Please use the proper name for them.
They won't accept assistance when its offered so I have to conclude that they live like this by choice. Maybe its easier, maybe there's less responsibility, maybe its cheaper living. But they will always live like this regardless so the only solution I can think of is legislation to make homeless camps completely illegal.

Boulders
BIG ones!
How about IMMEDIATELY tow any camper parked there instead?
Zero homeless where I moved to in Idaho
Why do "homeless" people have so much stuff?!?!?!?!
Consumer society. My stuff is my self value. Been like that for 100's of years. Rich, poor, stuff is what we value.
Most of it is from free piles or stolen.
let them camp in Wheelers yard
Its like WackAMole
Portland deserves itself!
Build more prisons
California is now planning to spend millions to address their state's homeless problem. Oregon and local municipalities should do the same. If not, then rent a bus to take the homeless to California where they can at least get more help than here.
They already spent millions. The people live here also. You don't just kidnap people.
Lmao they spend more than that now. 😂 planning what a clown
How does he move all those vehicles around 🤷
The guy is obviously unstable but he calls himself a hustler. 🤦
I'm Ted Mayor McCheese Wheeler. I approve this message. And I welcome you to Wokeghanistan. Remember always vote Democrat.
The people aren't homeless. They are in RVs by their own choosing and spent a lot of money on it. What we have here is a parking violation problem. Someone may have to pay towing fees if they aren't careful.
Why do they collect junk if they are homeless? Anything to make excuses and bring their shit with them.
Lol it’s all stolen property, ace.
@@Crytoboxer35 It's there alright.
I always thought that myself. You're homeless. Why have a microwave and five lamps when you have no place to live and plug that garbage in?
@@Crytoboxer35 their
Mental illness.
Turning the bums into Soylent Green packaged food slices is the only answer.
What happened to LEOs enforcing vagrancy laws? Pathetic and weak.
Portland gets what it votes for. Keep voting Democrat, my friends. You will pay dearly.
“I’m a good person, I steal things, like Robin Hood.”
Unsheltered street homeless are fentanyl addicts, and fentanyl destroys humans mentally and physically beyond the point of repair very quickly. They will destroy any housing we put them in because they are not mentally capable of living in an organized manner. Millions will die from fentanyl and other destructive synthetic chemicals in the states just in this decade. Fentanyl pills called blues/M30 contain fentanyl, rat poison, horse tranquilizer TRANQ, benzo, ISO, nitazene chemicals, etc.
Robin hood was a fairy tail. Thieves are the lowest right here with child molesters.
Give them all a $500 a day ticket. That'll clear them out overnight. Bast a rds!!!
MY ? IS HOW IN THE HELL COULD THEY PURCHASE A M-Home Or A Trailer And Windup Here. I Just Don't Get It. Maybe Very Poor Choices .
Give them the option of staying in an approved shelter or staying in jail. The problem would be solved quite quickly with rational leadership.
lower the taxes and then force goverment to live on lower income --then force the landlords to lower the rents---just a thought
Mmm. Fascism.
Communism? There's a lot and of "forcing" in that plan
🤣🤣🤣😂😂🤣 You deserve this. Still haven't learned a single thing
Yeah people maybe ALL of the Portland area will get their own homeless Camp, if you do not don't worry YOU'LL GET YOURS!!! VOTE DEMOCRAT AND YOU GET TO ENJOY PARADISE!! HAHAHAHA 😂😅
He's got checks coming to where?????? To NE33rd?
Bwahaha!
Half of the problem is the mess. If they just had their campers instead of all the junk laying around it would be a lot better. They can't do that though it's like a rebellion thing so that is their own fault.
The veteran has so much resources available. Disability money, going back to school and getting paid to do so, so much help from the va. How are you not trying harder
You are not homeless in an RV or a car.......
Nobody wants to live in a homeless shelter. There's a lot of violence and theft. Cant brink your dog or any property. And you have to be out at 7 and back before 8 or something like that. It's like a jail.
I love how the first reporter lectures his viewers. He rides his bike through there people. An obvious liberal hack reporter who isn't from PDX.
This is getting out of hand somebody someone needs to do something.
guess who back. back again. It's not Shady.
Instead of wasting city resources, find unoccupied land us the resources to run a homeless village.
Because you didn't fix anything. You moved it. God damn.
