Any instinct kicks in to protect/save a child:
-When I was in high school, I babysat a coworker friend of my mom's 2 boys by myself, constant eyes on em (like if were have my own someday). I kept front door locked, back door too.
      - One time few years ago, I was at the rec center to go swimming. Happened to be walking same direction as the random lil girl (about 4 feet away). Corner of my eye at the basketball court, boys playing their game and I see the ball goin towards to both of us. I darted across and stuck my arm in front of the girl blocking the basketball.
*Just muscle instinct sticks with you at all times, no brainer*

I have arthritis in my right foot ans ankle from when I broke my ankle years ago and there have been times where it would give out and I would fall or catch myself and I was holding my youngest and walking around trying to get her to sleep for a nap and my ankle gave out and I turned and landed on my back on the floor it happened so fast and it scared me.. I'm glad I was able to turn to land on my back otherwise I would of fell on her... I sat down and rocked her after that and got her to sleep finally my ankle has given out after that it's random but luckily when it does I'm not holding my kids

      @OrchidLilies 3 роки тому +35

@@Naturefan354 I don't think that's the case. How could he "not mean" to shake the baby? Clearly the baby had to have been shaken with either enough force or long enough to cause that amount of damage. Remember, the mother fell down a flight of stairs while holding the baby, and the baby came out unscathed. Such an experience would have shaken the baby, but the mother did what she had too to protect the baby. The father didn't fall down a flight of stairs, he didn't drop the baby while sitting down on the couch, he got frustrated with the baby and shook him. No excuse would make that okay.

I believe her. I’m a mother and my daughter’s a toddler now but there was a time when she was about 8 weeks old and she got a bug and was up for almost 4 days straight, napping maybe an hour or two at a time. My husband tried to help but he was also working and I wasn’t and he was sleep deprived as I was and stressed. One night after I’d already woke up with her he tried and came back into the room about 30 minutes later nearly in tears with frustration and asked me if I could take her because he was frustrated and couldn’t get her to calm down, so I did and he went back to sleep. Nobody got hurt and everybody lived.
Why couldn’t he have just came and woke her up if he was frustrated? It’s okay to be frustrated with an infant. It’s beyond not okay to hurt one.

I was 19 and became a single mother real fast used to work 8 hours and come home and stay up ALL night taking care of my baby. The amount of times I had to gently set him down in his crib and go outside for just 2 minutes to come back calm I’m not able to put a number on it but guess how my son is doing now. ALL IT TAKES IS TWO MINUTES OF LETTING THEM CRY AND WALKING AWAY. Please put them down and walk away if you’re feeling like this, you’re not a bad parent.

It should be supervised. Why would he even attempt to do that to his child. First he said he was on drugs then just said he plain out did it. He should’ve gotten 16 years.

I have felt overwhelmed with my son crying several times during the last 7 months since becoming a first time mom, but NEVER once did it cross my mind to shake my baby. If I couldn't get him to stop crying (which happened often the first 3 or so months because he was colic) I would set him down in his crib or strap him into his swing and walk away for a couple of minutes to "reset" and calm myself before going back and trying again to calm my baby.

If you can feel yourself getting close to the point of losing your cool and getting frustrated and stressed beyond belief because your baby won’t stop crying and maybe you’re sleep deprived, put the baby down and walk away. Because them crying isn’t going to hurt them but you losing your cool can. Plug your ears and shut your eyes if you have to and just breathe, focus on inhaling and exhaling, calm yourself down so that you can come back and try to help the baby again. And if you’re still struggling and finding it difficult then get someone else to help you, whether it be a partner, family member, neighbour, or friend. Put your pride aside because I promise you that doing that is a lot less painful than going to court, jail, a funeral, and all the other crap that comes with having hurt a baby. Not to mention frustration is temporary but life is life. Always put your kid’s first. 🤍

This post is long but I really need to get this off my chest. My stepfather died ten days ago and my mother has been struggling to get a grip but she also let out the things she held back that should have been said to him ten years ago. She is 84 and he was 71. Mom wasn't good at picking me, ever since my father died, her judgment about people is very odd. This is why I have made relationships something to study.
Before you breed, spend a LOT of time with your partner's family. Remember you are getting into a relationship with them when you partner up. Also, take your soon-to-be partner to a dog park, pet shop, and others such as family and friends who have pets. Watch this person closely. When they get mad, do they hit things, objects? Do they threaten you or your pets, loved ones or talk about getting revenge on someone? Does this person get jealous easily? Do they have a history of violence.... of any kind? Do they have a problem speaking to your ex? Also, do YOU have a problem with your new mate speaking to your ex? What kind of movies do they like? Same with video games. Are these all violence-related entertainment? Do they yell at the screen, "Shut that kid up! People are too easy on kids these days!"
Ok, that went a bit far but, if you look up Eros and Agape, you will find their definitions. The Greeks asked the age-old question, "What is love?" There is a book called "Women who love too much" and it is an easy read but can change your perspective on who makes the best mate for you.
We learn how to love from our parents. We learn how to use love for entertainment or manipulation, like in a soap opera. The chaos we often live in is more comfortable than the change needed to correct this as it is unfamiliar and you don't know if the outcome would be favorable. We take on the leader role with animals and these beloved creatures can teach you so much on how to be kind so if they can't be kind to a puppy, they can't be kind ALL of the time with children. I am not making this up, this is a study that requires us to seek OUTSIDE of our own knowledge because you may have been taught how to love in a demanding, controlling, threatened way. You might say to yourself, "Why would I jump at the unknown? I think I can change him/her/other. If you have to say, "but" after saying I love ____" Because that means you have a problem with being in love with them.
Try this. Imagine someone you love very deeply, romantic, friendship, family, mates, or co-workers. Imagine getting into a fight with them, an all-out screaming fight. Now, imagine they suddenly fall, dead, at your feet. How do you feel? What do you do? Ask these questions to your mate. Don't tell them why but get them to imagine someone they really love or care about. The reaction has deep and complicated meaning but it isn't about complex relationships, it is about someone showing classic and typical reaction to the loss of someone important in their life.
If that person says they wouldn't give a damn or say they would be glad if they died like that, you need to back out of that relationship as soon as possible. A good person wouldn't wish anyone to die while in an active disagreement. We all want those we care about to have a peaceful passing. I know this sounds rudimentary but it is a great way to see if that person is capable of having healthy reactions to death. If they fail in YOUR eyes, no excuses to boot, then politely end the relationship not too soon after. Then, ask yourself the same question. Get to know yourself, and spend time answering your own questions, especially those regarding the type of person you get into relationships with.
The best way to stay together is all about Balance, Foundation and Communication. Remember that the next time your mate or soon-to-be mate, causes an unreasonable demand to become their "rule". You can't reraise someone, find someone who was raised in a way that you are comfortable with. Don't forget, every day in Venezuela a female is murdered by their partner. That is echoed around the world.

I'm this video & comment are a little aged by now, but can I please quote you this? I have people in my life who need to hear this, but the main one is myself as it is a worry I may fall for a guy like the ones my mother was with before she met my step dad, he's probably got worse issues than the past who were just... Absent to my mother's needs and wants. Step dad is an ex-marine to explain why I said issues, he says he tries to better himself from his only habits of having control or being the only "a-loud" voice [typo is on purpose] but I worry that he will always relapse if he really is trying or worst, hurt my mom, he has anger issues and if not obvious, Strong PSTD.. I want both of them to be safe and especially myself even though I'm almost legally an adult. I've already had a run-in demo with a manipulator in the making, and I hope he gets help to even if he hurt me in that past..
