When I was first doing my residency at the ER, I had to give a mother the terrible news that her child was most probably raped and tested positive for HIV, when I tell you she screamed the most painful cry I’ve heard. It breaks my heart. I was a victim myself and I cried right along with her on the inside. It is always heart breaking to treat abused children. Never does it ever get easier to see.

They both have to take responsibility. One the mother is dumb af, 2/da if you knew that he was a bad guy and you had that feeling, GET YOUR BABY! Don’t wait for something to happen in order for you to do something about it. I tell people this all the time, if you have a feeling, go with your gut.
It depends on the custody. Yes, the dad could have fought for her (which obviously he wanted to) but the courts almost ALWAYS fall in favor of the mother and the dad had no physical proof of the fact that her boyfriend was a lowlife. As much as I wanna say he could have done something, his hands were tied. Honestly, if I were him, I would have fought for the baby but it can get expensive, absolutely worth it, but not everyone has that type of money for lawyers.
