    Hi Bro, congrats for getting accepted! I am an IBEW member since 8 months, have 2 years experience (non union) our company joined the union and they put us in CW/CE classifications while waiting for the next classes, I just took the aptitude test and passed it, and now wait for the interview, I ll probably have to start as a first year, but thankfully I won't take a paycut, my wages will freeze until they catch up with the other apprentices (3rd year)...It is an amazing opportunity! Keep sharing updates on your journey!

    SO happy to hear about the update man! I passed my aptitude test in Tucson, AZ but apparently I didn't do well on their interview here. I sent my information to KCMO 124 and they were willing to set up an interview with me! I am really excited for another opportunity to interview! Would love it if you could maybe message or email me, or just respond here with a little more insight on the interview there at the local 124? If that is too much to ask I totally understand, just thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. Again, super happy for you to have been accepted! have a wonderful day/evening!

    Taking a college algebra class, if you didn't take one in highschool, would also be a good class to take and might be a prerequisite to some of the electrical classes.

      @@Triggerologee For both of my interviews, there were 2 people asking question/talking to me. My First interview they asked me 7 questions, I'm pretty sure, and they were all based around what you would do in certain circumstances. I have another video on my channel that talks about those questions and the interview process, and the other processes, more in depth.

    Congrats bro! I came back to this channel to check out to see if you got in. I got a job offer to the Kansas side local 126, but I turned it down because someone told me to apply for kc because of the $45/hr wage. Currently working as a non union apprentice. I got an aptitude test scheduled next month for local 124. Wish me luck

      I was accepted in May and started working in September, but the first place I got assigned to fell through so mine took a lil longer, since you are new, you should be put with a contractor soon, like 1 to 2 months, 3 months max is my guess

    So a good gameplay would be to take community college courses, and get certificates? Before the interview right? And courses and certificates will give you the 1000 hours?

    • @shakproot
      @shakproot  Рік тому

      So a good plan if you are wanting to reinterview would be take at least 2 college classes and then wait the 6 months from your last interview and you're golden

      @shakproot  Рік тому +2

      If you are able to get experience, that is also an option, but all I did was take some college classes and it worked out, also I didn't get a certificate I only took classes towards one

      IBEW member here, they just wanna see commitment because they re going to invest alot into you and want to know if you re really commited to this, so try to get experience in construction, and stuff like OSHA10/30 and NFPA70E (safety certifications you can take online) will also help alot in showing that you re taking this stuff seriously and that you know what you want

      So to apply for a reinterview I took 5 college classes that related to electrical work, and then during the interview they didn't ask me any of the questions they asked my during my first interview, they told me that I would be getting accepted because I showed determination to join the IBEW and they appreciated that.

    • @shakproot
      @shakproot  9 місяців тому +1

      Also I brought in a cover letter for my resume and in that cover letter I expressed my willingness to learn and work hard and I believe they realized in that interview that I'm not some dumb guy and that I would be a valuable asset to the IBEW

    I got a few questions. 1. When you did your second interview, did you have the same interviewers ? Was it the same amount of people in the room ? How did they know it was your second interview and that you “really wanted to get in” ? Where the questions the same as before ? How did your answers change ?

    • @shakproot
      @shakproot  Рік тому

      Alrighty so 1. I did not have the same interviewers that I had during my first interview. 2. It was still only 2 people in the room. 3. They knew it was my second interview because they keep records and you have to apply for a reinterview so they know it isn't your first interview. They realized I really wanted to get in due to the fact that I went in for a second interview after not getting accepted on the first one, I did college classes to make myself a better candidate, and the whole process took over a year for me so they thought I was dedicated to joining IBEW. 4. They don't ask the same questions because you've already answered them before, instead they just told me what was gonna be going on and how the schooling would be easy for me. 5. No questions were asked of me like there were in the first interview.

    • @shakproot
      @shakproot  Рік тому

      So all in all, if you don't get in on your first try with the first interview, do what needs to be done to get the reinterview, which is take at least 2 college classes or 1000 hours in the field, and they will appreciate you coming back a 2nd time trying to get in and showing that you really want to be a part of IBEW.

      In April 2022 I interviewed but didn't hear anything back, so I took college classes in the fall of 2022 and more in spring 2023 and applied for a reinterview in like march 2023, reinterviewed in april 2023, and in that interview they basically told me that im in and that they understood I really want to be in IBEW due to me taking more than the required classes for a reinterview and just by reinterviewing they realized how much I wanted in, and it has been the best career choice I've made so far

    • @shakproot
      @shakproot  10 місяців тому +1

      I took like 8 college classes cuz I used the classes I took in the fall of 2022, 5 of them, to use for my reinterview, and if I hadn't gotten in that time I would've used the 3 classes I took in spring of 2023 to reinterview 6 months later

I just checked through my jatc website, it said I got accepted around march 11th but the email apparently it was sent to was different from what mine. So I’m curious if that means I’m not in anymore or do I still have a chance to accept since it seems to be an error on their part? I never recieved mail, email, or even a phone call. Only on the jatc website is where I saw the acceptance letter so I’m worried that I’m not accepted. I’m calling them on Monday but let me know on what your thoughts it could be.
