@@Davidge87 I really appreciate the comment, so for the interview you will want to show up at least 15 min early from whenever your interview time is scheduled. Then you will be waiting in the hallway upstairs until it is your time to interview. You will almost 100% not interview at the exact time they tell you via mail when your interview is, I waited 40 minutes past my scheduled interview time before I got called in to interview. Bring your resume and also a cover letter that tells them why you would like to join IBEW and other stuff along the lines of that. I was interviewed by 2 people, they were very chill about the process and enjoyed that I brought in a resume and cover letter. They asked me 7 questions I believe and I asked them to 2 questions at the end and thanked them and went on my way. Now, I got in on my 2nd interview, on my first interview I got asked all those questions, but when my second interview came around a year later, they were like "We see the determination you have to join IBEW and we like that" pretty much and I was in just like that. Good luck on your interview and comment again if you have any more questions or want me to be more specific about something.

@@Davidge87 The questions I listed in the video will help you get some ideas you could talk about for when you're asked those questions. They should be the same 7 questions they asked me, but I think I was only able to remember 5 of the 7 for the video. Get a good answer for why you want to Join IBEW, that's the first question they ask you or at least asked me. But if you get a good answer for "Why do you want to join IBEW?", it will set you up for a successful interview with the remaining questions. GOOD LUCK!

@@johnminty8243 learning different wire sizes and how 8awg is bigger wire than 12awg. Other than that, just be willing to learn, respectful, and appreciative of their time.

@@DETAIL_DIRECT try to do the best you can on the aptitude test, aswell as the interview, but I believe my aptitude test score, which I never got but thought the tests were super easy, I believe my score is the reason I started out as a 1st apprentice instead of a pre-apprentice. Getting in as a pre-apprentice is great but it is definitely not as great as just starting out as a first year apprentice. So my advice is do the best you can, but to also be prepared for what the outcome is. Getting in as a pre apprentice is still very worth it.

@@shakproot got u yeah that’s kinda of what I’m focusing on right now only have algebra one from highschool but will be studying up scheduled to test Nov 18th working on those interview questions as well I saw on your other video I guess we’ll see how it goes then congrats on getting accepted btw

@@GFlakko For the local 124 test I did not have to solve any quadratic equations. The test is very basic algebra so you're all good 👍

@@Camachocollects I've been workin through IBEW for about 9 months now, it's great in my opinion

I did college classes for the reinterview and got in from that, I don't think I obtained any certificates from the college classes. If you're trying to get a reinterview just follow through with getting it because they appreciate the people that come in for a reinterview showing their determination to get in

how did you do on the test?

@@AHM0NSTER I'll be honest and say some questions I was not ready for because these guides never mentioned them. I don't think I did great but I still passed and will interview this month.

@@User-hv2sz I have my test scheduled for this sept 18 and my math knowledge is at 2nd grade level lol im studying as much as i can until then see where it gets me. btw wishing you nothing but the best ♥

I don't remember using a calculator, and from what I remember a calculator isn't really necessary.

I interviewed in april 2023 and got accepted in may 2023 then started working in September 2023

But that was my 2nd time interviewing when I got accepted, I didn't hear anything back after my first interview in april 2022 so I took college classes and reinterviewed in april 2023

Thanks for the response! I interviewed in April and I still haven’t heard anything back. Did a follow up call last week and they said they are running behind schedule but they will email you whether you got accepted or not. So technically I guess I’m still in the running?
