Hi Ryan and family. So I wanted to send some unfortunate news. My father, David Loy, passed away last week and his funeral was yesterday. He was a regular follower of your channel and I believe posted several comments or corresponded with you at one point. Anyhow, I just wanted to let you know of his passing and that he really liked your content. We live on a dairy farm in northwest Maryland. I will continue to follow your channel from here on out. God bless
Sorry for your loss John, I'm pretty confident I have read comments from your dad here and on other channels over the years I apologize if I'm mistaken, but I know I've read comments from a gentleman who farmed in Maryland. My condolences to you and your family, Take care
Sorry for your loss John. I pray for the loved ones who have suffered from such a loss. My dad died in 1996 and I still wish I could make a phone call to him. I believe I have seen at least one of your dad's comments. Thanks for sharing your news, so I can say a few prayers for your dad and you.
Ironically enough, my Silverado was having the same trouble and ended up having to get the computer reprogrammed and living out here on the coast, it cost me a bit to get the guy to come out from Medford to do the work. 4 guys in my vicinity who said they could do the work either lied or baled on me...got the work done and am happy that you didn't have to suffer the same probs that I did...
In today's supply chain issues ,I stopped complaining about the price because I'm just happy that I can still get the part. The price is nothing compared to the cost of down time for who knows how long.
Good thing it's and easy fix on Big Red to get you up and going again. To bad about the green grain cart. But I imagine that you will get it going easily enough for corn harvest....
Good teamwork good teamwork is an excellent way to succeed in farming I have learned through personal experience. Hello Ryan and family hopefully you have a good harvest season as I am hoping to have
The sensor that kicks in the fan is to keep the turbo air boost temp in limit. When the intake gets to warm, the fan kicks in to move air through the after cooler in front of radiator to cool down the boosted air. Important one to keep in mind.
Exactly as Adam posted. In a diesel engine, the speed is controlled by the fuel delivery directly into the cylinder. It is controlled by an injection pump or pumps on mechanical engines and the engine computer on electronic engines. On a non turbocharged diesel engine, the only restriction to the air reaching the intake valves is the air filter so the intake manifold vacuum is very low. On a turbocharged diesel engine, the turbocharger uses exhaust gases to turn a compressor to pressurize the air going into the intake to provide a denser air charge so the intake manifold air is under pressure not vacuum.
What camera are you using Ryan? I definitely need to get what you’re using. Seems like the GoPro I’m using just doesn’t have the clarity your camera has. Another great video keep them coming.
Hmmm... how would that M11 run when it would start acting up? Would it act like it was misfiring or just overall loss of power? Having an issue with one of my trucks with the same engine, but can't pull the codes off of it without having a tech come out and plug in. Had injectors changed and it seemed to help a lot but it still randomly has issues.
Good afternoon Tom Woods Driveshafts and Patton's Driveshafts They each specialize in Offroad Driveshafts They may be able to mfg a better shaft ie stronger wall, u joint, easier to grease Worth a shot
The error code just tells you that the sensor value into the engine computer is not within the programmed limits, it doesn't tell you why it isn't within limits. The sensor is the easiest thing to replace. I've always thought it should be mounted in the cab because of the heat in the engine compartment.
Ryan the reason cold air gives a better performance is because of the fact that cold air is more oxygen rich. its also why people have difficulty breathing on really hot days.
@@jaredmoorman1300 That depends on the beans too. Some of the other farming channels are getting about 10 acres per hour per combine due to the conditions where they're harvesting.

glad it was a simple fix Hannah and the dogs to the rescue
No power in hill country is not fun. Hannah to the rescue. May God bless you with a safe and bountiful harvest.
Ryan, I don’t post much, but I wanted to say thank you for your channel and your positivity.
Glad that all breakdowns were quickly fixed. Good luck with the rest of harvest.
A good harvest to feed us all. That Hannah girl is as handy as a pocket on a shirt. Extra hug for her efforts.
nice to have Hannah on hand to help
Great job Hannah and Ryan, glad the MAP sensor cured Your problem and not the wiring harness, that would suck👍🙏🙂
I am impressed by your knowledge of engine mechanics and your skill in making the repair.

UA-cam must be on the blink again this is the second time your video has come up and I've hit like twice so far and watched it twice so far
Hanna to the rescue! Glad it was a simple fix and you were able to keep going.
Nice fix👍🏻
We had some trouble getting PTO shafts. Might want to consider replacing the combine's spare.
Like the video on big red Sensor . and glade Hannah was there to the rescue .
I could watch an entire video of your drone shots of equipment and the beautiful Driftless Region landscape! Great work!
The small issues are the ones that slow down harvest, but it's great that you got it fixed👍
Nice video again, let's get the beans done!😁👍
Hey Ryan!! Hey Hannah!! Nice roadside repair. Hopefully that sensor wasn't too expensive. Big Red just keeps chugging along.
Hey Darrin! Actually still haven’t seen the price of it. All I know is it got me running so it couldn’t be that expensive 😂
In today's supply chain issues ,I stopped complaining about the price because I'm just happy that I can still get the part. The price is nothing compared to the cost of down time for who knows how long.
Don't forget the cost of fuel for Hannah's part run. Oh, Hannah's tip too.
The 4640 a 10:19 sounds awesome.
Another GREAT video Ryan. Love your drone shot's top notch!!!! Glad you got the truck back up and running.
Three cheers for Hannah!
Going to put leds on the combine?
awsome video ryan better to get her fix now rahter waiting till something mayjor happens good job thumbs up and shared
Great job on the fix. Great team work there 🙂
Those FLD's were (and still are) good trucks.
I agree can't beat an old Fld 120,
Hooray for Hannah! That was a easy fix
Thanks for posting!

Hannah For the save!!!!!
we run a 4640 on a brent 500 bushel cart and a 8400 on a 600 bushel and 9550 combine
time for a Kenworth!
Great Video, shame a simple sensor could derail "big red!" yay for Hannah
Good fix. Always satisfying seeing the harvest come in. Thanks for sharing!
Hope you get a nice little break Ryan!
Great awesome video Ryan , better get that truck looked at
Loading in the road…. Way to be that guy!
Nowhere else to load!
@@HowFarmsWork looks like plenty of grass there…. It’s a dry year too…. Do better Ryan!

Are you not getting a demo this year Green cart
Not much combine footage
Good 👍 job man
The sensor measures the intake manifold vacuum that exists in the intake manifold after the throttle.
No throttle plate or vacuum that's a diesel engine-An older one without EGR

Do you still use the bin at the burton farm?

Hard to beat having a pretty pit crew like that! 🙂
What's causing the driveshaft to break in the combine?
Hey we don’t ask those kinds of questions around here!
@@HowFarmsWork oh yeah wrong channel I'll ask @therestofthestory
I liked working the harvest for farmers, but I DO NOT miss the dust from the beans and corn. And the red things from corn

It derated the motor. The only time it would misfire is when the check engine light wasn’t on and it wasn’t derating

How Farms Work and truck don't lol
Having 45 acres of soybeans isn't bad probably means maybe 2 or 3 days left....
That’s three hours of harvesting
@@jaredmoorman1300 not really sure it's 3 hours...especially with combine 2 grain carts and a semi with how far it has to go to unload
@@Blackwellll3066 should be able to combine about 15 acres an hour…. Who knows might take Ryan 3 days tho!
