This isn't Taiko. It's certainly drumming... But, it's not Taiko. I'm not sure exactly what it is. Where is their Sensei? The rhythms are all wrong to my ear.
It is not wrong, this is most definately taiko. Taiko is much more about movement, hitting the drum is the side-effect of their movement if you understand my meaning. Taiko doesn't have a fixed rythm, they may have an underlying baseline upon which they express a story by movement, accompanied by their beats on the drum. I strongly suggest you listen to Yamato and Kodo closely, two full-blooded Japanese Taiko groups. Take this from a Taiko player, this is most definately Taiko, and mighty fine Taiko at that.
