Thanks for the great video!! A tips for sewing is once you start or stop a seam all you have to do is leave needle down in the fabric, raise the presser foot, turn fabric, sew couple stitches then again turn needle is down in the fabric, raise presser foot and turn fabric, lower the presser foot always before and after your reinforcing stitches and continue around and then repeat and the other side of the seam. Sounds like a complicated process but it isn’t once you get a visual of the method. You don’t have to cut thread or remove the fabric when you do this. Next tip is fabric stores sell 1/4” foam either in packages for on bolts by the yard. Thanks again
🌸🌸🌸This is by far THE BEST EARS TUTORIAL!! 🌸 🌸 🌸 🌸 Now that my daughters spend a lot of time at school and I have more time for myself, this is a beautiful and entertaining way to spend my afternoons. Thank you Holly 😊🌸
Thank you for this video! This is the best Minnie Mouse ear tutorial I’ve seen so far, and they turned out so cute! I’ll definitely be trying this out for my next trip 😁
Thank you for the great tutorial! I really enjoyed this video. You did a great job. Just one question. Regarding the bow is this something that could be sewn? If so do you have a formula for that? I ask because I am using the glue gun as little as possible. Thank you in advance
Hi friend! You are so welcome! I haven’t personally sewn bows before but I believe there are some tutorials on UA-cam of how to sew a bow similar to the ones I make for ears! 🫶🏼
OMG, so glad you popped up on my feed this morning!! I swear I was so tired of cutting cardboard, I am 🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️ to the store for some of that foam!! Also where do you get your fabric from?!?! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Subscribed!! Thank you!! I just started making ears because I needed to get my creativity out and your tutorial was so, so helpful!! ❤️ What is the size you cut the fabric for your bow? I heard you say 28cm, but wasn't sure the other measurement. I am still a newbie, but crafting makes me so happy!!
Hi! Your video has been the only video to be such a help to me! I love the way your ears came out, I love how informative your video was and I love that you got straight to the point! I have one question though, where did you find that little sewing machine? I want one just like it!
Thank you so much!!! I got it at Joann I believe it is called a tailoring machine or something to that effect I know my friend was able to find one on Amazon!
Hi Holly Could you please make a tutorial DIY for Minnie ears but not sewn? I’ve tried but definitely I don’t know how to use the sewing machine correctly and I would like them to be as beautiful as the ones you make, but with the non-sew method
Wowww thank you for being so informative! I’m really glad I ran across your video. I’ve watched so many (stay at home mama trying to bring something other than hair bows to my shop). This was such a good tutorial. I’m lost with the foam tho? I’ve seen all others use cardboard but I didn’t want to use that. Where did u get ur foam from? And is that a BBW candle? Because I have those! Haha Thank you!
Omg you’re so welcome!!! The foam I use is from Amazon! It’s the “White EVA Foam Sheets, 20 Pack, 6mm Extra Thick” and I actually don’t remember what kind of candle this is 😂 but it’s 5in in diameter if that helps!! ❤️❤️
@@HollyHickman thank you. I tried making ears for the first time ever. Made them for my daughter , besides all the glue showing (LOL) I think I did alright for my very first attempt lol
Thank you for this amazing tutorial! 🤍 how much fabric do you need for each pair of ears roughly? (Just so I know how much to get from the craft shop✨)
I would say at least a third of a yard to have enough size for the bow since that’s the largest piece, but it also depends how tall the bolt of fabric is! Happy crafting!! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you!! Oh my gosh honestly I’m Not 100% sure but I know it was super cheap and I got it at Joann and I use the mini clear glue sticks that come in the green packaging from Joann, I hope that helps!! ❤️❤️
Hi there! I notice floppy ears happen if you don't glue the fabric directly and tightly to the foam insert of the ears (21:36) in the video. Also, sometimes it can happen if it's pulling on the fabric of the headband, so try gluing the fabric to the headband where the tape would be. As I've made more ears I notice the tape holds cotton pretty well, but velvets and other heavier fabrics can sometimes come loose! I hope that helps!!
Thanks for the great video!!

Love your vid! Where did you get the crushed velvet?
It’s from Joann!!
Awesome tutorial. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you Holly ❤️ I'll try to make them... You helped me a lot how to understand the process to make ear's Minnie... Kisses and Hugs from Brasil 🇧🇷💗💋
Have fun!!!!
Loved your video! What type of hot glue gun and glue sticks do you use? Is it a high temp or low temp?
Thank you!! Oh my gosh honestly I’m

Where is that pretty blue fabric from? Perfect color!
It's from Joann!!!
"That's what she said"....Subscribed!!!
LMAOOOO 😂😂😂😂😂 welcome to the fam 😂
@Holly Hickman Thank you! Happy to be here!
any tips to prevent floppy ears?

Could you link the items you used as far as that gorgeous light blue fabric please
what are the measurements for the bow fabric?
28cm x 24cm!! ❤️❤️
I made some ears but I noticed they are top heavy , how do I fix that
You might be stuffing them too full with the fiber fil! You don’t need to pack them as much as you can, a very light fill will work!!
@@HollyHickman I’ve been doing the cardboard and poly fil, but I don’t think I like the cardboard method .
Yeah that one can be a bit messier I’ve found!!
Did I miss the dimensions for the curve in the craft foam ?
It should measure 6cm across the bottom of the circle!
what kind of foam is it????
It’s craft foam, I think it’s the 1/4in one! You can buy it from Amazon or most craft stores in the kiddy crafts section!
amazing!!!
Aw thank you ❤️❤️
