Taylor, you will find if you cut on the fabric diagonally, your fabric will be a little stretchy(it is called cutting on a bias...it makes curved "seams" lay smoothly each time. Also, if you cut out your fabric with pinking shears(zigzag scissors), it will lay better around the curves.

How durable are they? I want to make some but I want them to last
I found this a few months before my Disney trip earlier last year, and when I tell you mine turned out so well using this tutorial, they were beyond amazing. I used some cheap beauty and the beast fabric I found at walmart and used some red fabric with white dots to do the bow, a normal headband, as well as some cheap trim stuff, all from walmart under $10. When I tell you the ears turned out AMAZING, they came out better than I thought they would. I made a few pairs with different fabrics just to get the hang of it, and I'm going to be honest it took a few tries to get some good pairs. Anywho, I went on my disney trip a month ago wearing the beauty and the beast ears, and I got complimented by at least 4 staff members and a dozen strangers in lines or at restaurants, saying how cute they were, and how I could even open a business. So long story short, yes this tutorial is legit, yes it's time consuming but oh my goodness it was so worth it in the end :)

These are super cute, but I would iron the fabric first. Also, if you don't mind spending the extra $, you could buy plastic needlepoint squares to use instead of cardboard. That way if they get wet, you don't have to worry about ruining your ears.
Michele Of The Oaks but wouldn’t that make the ears heavy? Is that Plastic that you are talking about lightweight?
I know the plastic she’s talking about & no, it’s not heavy at all. In fact, it’s pretty close to the same as cardboard weight wise, but far durable & an awesome idea!!!
Wish I’d thought of it before this, as I’ve got an idea for a pair of ears & have the material, but wasn’t as keen on the hot glue gun & cardboard method because I’m using Metallic material for the ears part & I want these to last. So I wasn’t looking forward to sewing these, but using Plastic Canvas could really help me make these doable by sewing, so Thank You So Much!!

After seeing how proud you were of your Star Wars ears in the latest Hollywood Studios video, I was hoping you'd make a tutorial. Video was great to watch. Straight-Forward and detailed, as a good tutorial should be. I hate when you're trying to find tutorials for something and the person wastes half the video just jabbering! Thanks for sharing!
This is the BEST tutorial out there. Currently on ear number 6 in the making and even have a friend I’m teaching. So easy and fast and inexpensive!! Thank you so much!
Another good tip to remember is if you want to stop the stuffing coming through the fabric it’s a good idea to use interfacing. You can get iron on if you don’t want to do any stitching, and it stops the stuffing from coming out through the fabric
I LOVE THIS!!! I sew a lot and could sew these.. but this is a great alternative as well! Another way you could keep your head band on is do a couple hot glue strips on the inside of the head band and let them dry like that. I did this on the bottom of toddler socks to keep my kid from slipping and you can do it to any clothing item you don't want to constantly fall down. I think it would work quite well in this case!

Have loved Josh and Taylor's Disney videos for a while so when i searched UA-cam for DIY ears and saw this one from Taylor, i knew i had to watch that first. One and done! No need for further instruction from other channels. Taylor you checked all the boxes. Im a craft person anyway so familiar with technique and you gave the best tips! Even a newbie to crafting could do this after watching your vid!!
Just finished a Minnie inspired pair of ears! My first attempt and I made a few mistakes but overall I’m happy with them. I’m a Make A Wish volunteer and hope to add these to our Wish reveals for Disney wish kiddos. 😊 ❤️ Thank you so much for this video!

Enjoyed your tutorial. I liked the fast, but still very clear, pace of it. Another tutorial said to put the middle of each ear two inches down from the middle of the headband. Looked about right.

Thanks so much for posting this video. I have been wanting to make nautical Minnie ears for our upcoming cruise - and was confident enough to try it after watching your video. My daughter Riley is now obsessed with DIY Disney Crafts. I think the fabric ears could be a tad bigger- saving your fingers from hot glue blisters. I used a popsicle stick which helped. Not sure how to post a picture of the finished product but we love them. Thanks for the great directions.
This is freakin awesome! I tried to print the pattern from my Iphone to my printer and it was only printing the pattern in half size. I just switched to my laptop, and it printed perfect! Just in case someone else is having the same issue. :) I can't wait to make these. I have been looking online for a how-to and I was convinced I was going to have to buy a sewing machine. Me and my sister did this and we now have a pair of Stich Ears and Star Wars Ears!!!!! This was very fun and the ears turned out great!! The process was a little tough at times but in the end they were great!

I actually use fabric glue!
What kind of fabric glue do you use? I make a terrible mess with hot glue, lol.
@@ginagreen1202..Aleene's Fabric Fusion. You can get it at any craft store and I think mine came from Walmart. I let it dry overnight and place it underneath something heavy. But I have used it and washed something and it stays together!
