Brilliant scene. As Roger Ebert said: Toyah Feldshuh "took something ordinary and made it extraordinary". . Love this movie. Would have preferred the ending to be slanted more towards the woman in the shop who showed an interest when Jessica was delivering her flyers, and less towards Josh though.

In a lot of the actual triangle situations, it’s the other way around - they start off with a guy and end up choosing the girl - (*spoilers*) I Can’t Think Straight, Imagine Me & You, South of Nowhere, Orange is the New Black, The Fosters, But I’m a Cheerleader, Glee…even going back to the 80s and 90s with stuff like Desert Hearts and Friends. But at the end of the day, neither of the ladies in this movie “chose the guy” anyway, so this movie couldn’t play into that narrative. We saw Jessica flirting with Josh a while after the break up, but she didn’t chose him over Helen. And Helen was with another woman by then. The problem with their relationship was that they just weren’t sexually attracted to each other anymore. Which happens in real relationships even when both people are 2000% gay! Not every relationship is happily ever after, and it’s dumb that so many movies act like they are.

The L word is the worst! It made me (a committed lesbian) be tired of queer sex scenes towards the end. Cause there were like 3 of them in every episode and TOO LITTLE and TOO SHALLOW storytelling. But still it would be fun if you watched an episide of it... Maybe not the last one, cause that's just depressing... In the beginning the fuckin was still more exciting :-P
