Girl Ship TV .....TYVM FOR THIS LOVELY LESBIAN MOVIE OF CHOICE ON MY BIRTHDAY TODAY!!🙆 🎁YAY!! AWESOME MOVIE! IT WAS VERY WELL DONE! THIS MOVIE WAS JUST LIKE "IMAGINE ME & YOU"👭😙💙 (.....WITHOUT THE 2 ROMANTIC FEMALE LEADS BEING STEP-SISTERS...OF COURSE!!)😹 WHICH REALLY DID MAKE THIS MOVIE "KISS ME" UNIQUE IN THAT REGARD!!😅 I SUBSCRIBED AWHILE AGO.....KEEP UP THE GREAT REVIEWS OF MANY AWESOME MOVIES!! I'll be watching😏
FUN FACT: the woman who plays Frida's girlfriend is played by Josefine Tengblad who produced the movie. It's based on her real life. She fell in love with a woman while married to a man, but left him eventually and is now married to the woman and they have a son together //a swede who is obsessed with this movie
This movie made me realize that most of the LGBT movies we get stuck with are hot garbage, but we tolerate them because we're so desperate for representation/content. This movie was actually GOOD.
MelonApple i was thinking the same thing... Actually thats normally what i think when i watch any movie. Im like "when is there going to be a lebian couple making out? Like where's all the lesbians.
Hold on...... Men in America DON'T wear engagement rings?? Why not? As a Swede I can confirm that Swedish men do, and now I'm wondering which is more common...
Something I notice about lesbian moveis, at least the ones I've seen is it doesn't go into their romance and getting to know each other, it's just mainly sex and staring at each other lol
Meg Pond Maybe you should try a series - Amar a Muerte - witj Juliantina ship. Their romance first developed from friendship then... you know. Gay stuff follows.
Darlings I hate to break it to you but there are a LOT of really well made lesbian films out there, they just don't happen to be American! I review and post promos of LBTQI films every week, so I know, LOL!
There are more BUT not really pass the 90s. If you search long enough, you might find a gem or two like I did but they are mostly romantic throwaway comedies. The Germans make the serious, complex films, the Swedes make the happy endings, the Asians make the beautiful films that are sometimes a muddle to get through, the Australians have started to make really good films but the Canadians, English and the Dutch are on top of their game.
Well, I have seen and own a lot of LBTQ movies and many of the good ones have come from Sweden. 'She Monkeys' was really good and 'Show Me Love' Is literally on everyone's Top 10 list of lesbian films EVER!
Greetings from Sweden! First of all, you have to watch Fucking Åmål, or Show me love in English. Another Swedish film with a happy ending but with teenagers and high school feeling. Now some fun Swedish facts: Yes, men also have engagement rings but they are upgraded to wedding rings at the wedding. Usually the couple buys the rings together when they decide to get engaged and usually there's not a big proposal where the man goes down on one knee and ask for her hand (even though I think it's getting more and more common due to too many American movies). Asking the parents for permission before asking the person you want to marry would also be considered weird in Sweden. It is also tradition that the couple walk into the church together as a symbol that they have chosen each other freely, but also this tradition is being challenged by people watching too many American movies (no offense, I love American movies!)
I'm almost positive that men also wear engagement rings not only in Sweden but throughout the entire Europe; probably the rest of the world too, I could be wrong but I've spotted men of different nationalities and backgrounda wearing engagement rings except for Americans.
thank you guys for this series ♥️ it's so good to watch when you've just had an annoying interaction with a straight person and you need some gay joy as a palate cleanser. It's like being with friends ♥️
YES ! Kiss Me is so much better than Blue is the Warmest Color ! I really don't understand why people say they loved that movie, the sex scenes were so gross...
So true, that movie is so gross. Its made for the male gaze and in no way considers actual wlw. The only reason I would like to see a Drunk Lesbians is to see you guys tear it to pieces!
Plus imagine that this movie received one of the biggest awards for a French film... I hate that people look up to this movie as an actual representation of a lesbian relationship !
I don't think many casual film fans even know what the male gaze is in terms of film/media... I've talked to many of my friends who found the sex scenes "real" albeit a bit too long. It's sad but what makes it more unfortunate is the how unknown the abuse that disgusting director put the actresses through still remains so to this day.
You should watch When the night is falling. (1995) It's an old film, but great and a lesbian classic. Or the true classic: Dessert Hearts. That's from 1985 but a true gem! And It's very well played by the actresses too.
666sharron yes, the handmaiden is the japanese/corean remake of "Fingersmith", a story by Sarah Waters that was made a short tv serie - if i remember correctly - and you can check it out here on UA-cam. I strongly recommend "Tipping the velvet", another short tv series based on Waters' story. They both GAY AF
right, that was the one. for some reason couldn't remember the title. But yeah I know it and I alo watcehd "tipping the velvet" totally agree with you, for all who haven't seen them, DO it soon :D
i said this on your “I cant Think Straight” as well, so thankful for your reactions to these films, just wish more would follow your lead and choose them as well. Love this film and it holds up so well. Wonderful chemistry that you really buy into.❤️ thanks for this!✌️🌈!
Great episode, great film. Y'all are funny. One thing I got from it, apart from butterflies in my stomach, was a whole bunch of awesome new music to look up. This soundtrack is great.
They end up in Spain b/c Mia wanted to run away with Frida to Andalusia or Catalonia....both are in Spain. So they did start over and had their fairytale ending.
In Sweden even the Prime Minister is a feminist (even though it is a man). And yes, men in Scandinavia also wear engagement rings. Why would it just be for women?
Brasil is nothing feminist and men wear engagement rings too...only after people started to copy american movies the “engagment ring” started to be a thing here and some wealth women get theirs rocks together with a proposal. The tradition is the golden ring for both when engaged on the right hand and when they marry goes to the left hand
Nope, they sure don't in the USA. I guess men don't want others to know they could be taken until they are married... It's kind of bullshit. I love that they do elsewhere!
I really enjoyed watching you guys react to this movie. It's a cinematic masterpiece in my opinion with beautiful scenes just like you said. You two are the best, can't wait to watch more vidoes like this!
I started watching this movie i don’t even know how many times and i never reach the ending, i don’t even know why, and eventually i did finished it but i don’t even remember how it ended
I'm from Sweden and i've never seen an engaged man never wearing a ring? that would be so weird if the guy wouldn't wear one haha thought that was the case everywhere :D
Oh my gosh! Thank you for turning me on to this movie!! (Pun kind of intended??) I watched this and then immediately opened up Netflix!! Love your content! 😍😍
I can highly recommend "f*cking Åmål"/"Show me love" (the english more PG13 title) It's another just great movie, that is about a lesbian love story from Sweden. It's from the late 90s, and captures what it's like growing up as in a small town in your teens in just a beautiful way. And the lead character is a lesbian, and it's centred around her and her first love. I would say that Carol, Kyss mig, F*cking Åmål, and imagine me and you, are all in a group of movies that I consider actually good or pretty good movies, not just good for being a lesbian movie. F*cking Åmål is sad at times, but for being a lesbian movie in the 90s it has a happy ending. And I would still say it's a happy-ish ending. It deals with some heavy subjects (most of it actually not centred around homophobia) but in a palatable way, but leaves with a hopeful and positive feeling. I would guess that f*cling Åmål was the main inspiration to the wIw storyline in Everything sucks!
Please react to “Fingersmith” it’s about period British lesbians. It’s great, it’s based on the same book as “the Handmaiden” the Korean film, the author was one of the producers. Love the channel!
Sorry about the screaming, headphone users!
Girl Ship TV I don't care you're too damn gorgeous for me to give a **** about that lol
I had my headphones up loud when the video started. I immediately had to lower it

I thought she was the director as well?
the director is Alexandra-Therese Keining :)
Ah! Thanks for replying.
So do swedish men wear engagement rings?
yes, at least I've never met someone who didn't.
This movie made me realize that most of the LGBT movies we get stuck with are hot garbage, but we tolerate them because we're so desperate for representation/content. This movie was actually GOOD.

Yes, men wear engagement rings as well. I had nooo idea that you didn’t do that in the US!
In India also they do

Men wear rings here in the US? I'm on the Gulf Coast, so there's that.

Girl Ship TV I strongly agree
They're watching matress-sports
"Two women just looks so much better together in bed" Ok can Ashly watch all the lesbian movies there is? I want reviews like this.
"There's too many men in this movie already" - TRUTH
MelonApple Their are already too many women ruining our country.
MelonApple Lets see this triggering double standard comment.
Lebone Jamse haha, nice! Say a similar comment and see how they react to it
MelonApple i was thinking the same thing... Actually thats normally what i think when i watch any movie. Im like "when is there going to be a lebian couple making out? Like where's all the lesbians.
"I am definitely not into my best friend, said every gay woman ever"
So freaking true
-"Ugh there's too many men in this movie"
-"There's two"

“There’s to many men in this movie”
“There’s two”

"I don't like eye contact"- she said, while staring directly INTO MY SOUL
"is she only lesbian at night" lmao how am I just finding these two?!
Hold on...... Men in America DON'T wear engagement rings?? Why not?
As a Swede I can confirm that Swedish men do, and now I'm wondering which is more common...
HelloIamAce in Greece they also wear engagement rings
HelloIamAce in Brazil too
It’s like an ownership thing I suppose like the engagement ring used to mean that the woman was owned by the man
I’m confused bc my dad has an engagement ring!?????????
Kale Cade because he's already married we're talking about when there's the proposal
I love to rewatch this episode cuz Ashly was KILLING IT with the lines LOL
- "She only gay at night"
-"Like a werewolf"
LMAOO
I love Ashly. Everything she says is relatable.
She is only gay a night. Like a werewolf... Lesbi-wolf 😂😂😂😂 this is the content I sub for.
Um, lesbian werewolf is a genre in books. Like, a bunch of them have come out in the last few years.
blade4flame I need titles
I also need titles
Flo curlz and girl ship tv, Radcliffe writing as L. L. Raand. An entire series of “Lesbi-wolves”. Really good read.
Start with The Midnight Hunt
"Is she only gay at night?" Dead lmfao 😂
I just want to say how much I appreciate you guys; there’s so much bisexual hate on other wlw channels and it’s nice to have representation
"Mom get out we're kissing"😂😂😂
ndondo nzama Wayen
"Straight sex is such a bummer" is my favorite thing ever.
and
"can we back to the gay please" :v
"I have watched it many times but never fully cause I just always go to the steamy parts" is gay culture
Accurate.
Ashley: Can we go back to the gay, please?
Me: *SAME*
DRUNK LESBIANS WATCH IS MY FAV THING EVERRRR LOL

Yeah, definitely starting to catch on to that as this series continues. Carol might be the only really solid American queer film.

Please watch Fingersmith, the film is kind of dark but I have no doubt that you would turn it into comedy gold!
YES
Yeah, its absolutely brilliant. 3 hours long, tho ...
Faith Thompson I second this shit. I forgot about Fingersmith!
The handmaiden is the better version tho...
I'm gonna try to be as respectful as possible about this: NO, it FU%!ING isn't.
