Are you gonna be picking up the Architecture Trafalgar Square set? It has some absolutely fascinating building techniques. Don't mind if you don't do a review on it, but you need to at least glance at the instructions.

I almost can't hear the "bigger parts/higher price per part" argument anymore. Sure there is more material needed for bigger parts but let's be honest: The production cost of all parts (probably well in the sub cent region regardless of size) is by far the smallest portion of the overall price.
It's almost fascinating how TLG was able to make this narrative accepted as a price argument.
Otherwise great review again and your conclussion just hammers home my general perception: 20%+ off is usually more realistic price.
They should have included Sirius in his dog-form.

I wanted to say, I really appreciate that you place all the window inserts all facing upwards, the OCD in me is happy.
The Shrunken Head was Awesome I loved his role in the movie a couple years ago me and a friend of mine were on a carnival ride that spins around like crazy with manual control and we kept saying his lines. Also the ride was purple
I'm happy that the purple seems to match this time.
I remember when my dad got the original Lego Knight Bus for my birthday back in 2004.
I'm still the proud owner of that set many years later!

I love this set, the scene with the Knightbus was one of my favourate, however I feel like they could have included a black wolf.
And the normal type steering wheel seems to be a bit small in comparisment with the one in the movie... In the movie Ernie seems to be driving with a comically big steering wheel, but understand if that couldn't fit.
FireDash I’m pretty sure they did the same for the normal city bus back in 2017 in regards to the wheel. That had a normal steering wheel piece though it should have a big one too. The steering wheel is usually much bigger on buses yet Lego still use steering wheels suitable for cars.

I love that new window brick, it is the exact size I've wanted for some Pullman style railroad coaches/electric interurban coaches forever, it's such a useful size-
And I personally like the grill tile since the sticker would probably be useful on MOCs of some other AEC vehicles.
Ya I agree about the price. I Canada its $50 and I agree a bit over-priced. I had hoped for more in the way of interior and a froth Min-fig would have been nice.
Of all things I think it’s very interesting that they consistently chose to make sets of the Knight Bus.
I want the diagon alley and the chamber of secrets basilisk and I'm sure they'll make a good deathly hallows set
I love how the shrunken head looks like its driving without a body when you look through the front window. 🤣
I'm glad to see 3 stud wide windows, or 3 stud any piece get some love. Seriously, we go 1, 2, 4 so often, and then you're in awkward terrain if you want to do something on an interval of 3 studs. My most annoying moment with the lack of 3 stud pieces came when I was putting down plates for my city's sidewalks, they make the 1/4 round tiles in 1, 2, and 4 stud radii, but no 3 stud radii one... I ended up having to model one and print it on my 3d printer to fill a rather annoying gap in the sidewalks on the curved roads of my city.... :P So yay for some odd number pieces! :)

The transparent 1x2 45deg slop, and the black Mudguard 4 x 2 1/2 x 2 1/3 with Arch Round are what I am waiting for a long time :D

I love how they totally skipped year 2, although it would mean another brickbuilt basilisk which is unwanted because Lego only made cool molds 10-20 years ago

That sticker would look great on a curved 2x4.. Angled down and in front of an elegant old coupé
I thought this looked terrible, until I went back and looked at pictures of previous designs... it’s not too bad.
I wish the bus itself was a little wider. 6 stud-wide bus means at most 4 studs of space on the inside, and that's not really an ideal amount of space for a public transport in lego form. Maybe 8 studs wide would have been a little better?
Shame they couldn't also re-colour the 1x2x3 window frame to purple, instead of using those clear panel pieces, which I think really detract from the overall look.
Edit: Just realised the previous Knight Bus 4866 from 2011 actually contains those window frames in purple, exclusive to that set!

Forget the head! The PoA cuts were a bumpy ride! I still don't want to get the bus... 16 years to get one... and I still don't want one...
To quote the lady buying dragon livers in the first book. "40 Dollars?! They must be out of there minds!" Not bad never was able to get this set on the first, or second release. But don't know if I want to spend 40 bucks for this release. May have too miss out on this one. Regardless good review. 👍🏽

I'm glad I watched this review! I was so excited for this set, but now I'm not sure if I will get it. It just seems clunky and underwhelming in design. I get the HP sets for display, so I don't really want an ugly set!

I want this set a lot but I will probably wait for it to lower in price a bit but I wish there could be more figures but what else could you add? Maybe Sirius Black as a dog? Or some passengers?
I'm curious if these new windows will scale well to a 24-stud-base train carriage. The 1x4x3 windows we've seen previously are really better off for 28-stud-base carriages.

One of my favourite things that happened to me was when I went to universal studios and saw the Knight Bus. They had one of those talking heads, and I think there must have been someone hidden in the bus somewhere with a peep hole because we had a full conversation. It was brilliant.

Sorry I'm late, I missed the bus.
Was kind of sad I missed out on the previous versions but this is definitely an improvement; this is just such an interesting vehicle that my interest in it is independent of having anything Harry Potter themed. The plus side to it being redesigned so many times is it makes the previous versions cheaper, especially used, which makes them great parts packs to get this grape purple color, which is usually not very common in Lego.
I really want to pick this up, as it's just such a ridiculous (in a good way) vehicle that it would make a great display piece, something eye-catching in my city despite not being realistic at all.
bonus points if you have it making a sharp turn and leaning XD

Great review as always. Thanks alot. Just a small bit of info, the knight bus from the films is actually an RT class bus type from 1939, the Routemaster wasnt built until 1954 and had a much lower and wider radiator, not really important, but anyways.

This means EVERYONE.
Even when the price is a little high- keep in mind Lego needs to acquire a profit for each set. They're always going to make the price of widely enjoyed Lego themes higher so they make more profit. Since Harry Potter does not have another movie in 2019, they may not get as much sales revenue (Like Star Wars sets when there wasn't a new Star Wars movie). So they kept this on the cheap side (from an objective point of view) to take in more money and have more parents who want to spend the right amount of money on the right set.
could you put minifigs a little higher so subtitles don't cover the legs? I need the subtitles, but I can't see the feet! Love your videos.
I have the one from a few years ago, and I like it way better. Only was $20 and can seat several figures, which is important for a bus
That purple suit/hat is useful for costoms.
Forget the price to part ratio... just look at the main color of the pieces... outside of this set the purple pieces don‘t have any value to me.
