I feel she should have got her third Oscar for The Devil Wears Prada. That would have made Voila won for help. And Michelle Williams for Manchester by the Sea.
@@Dr.SyedSaifAbbasNaqvi Yeach ,She deserve for the devil wears prada, not the iron lady
remembering that Meryl couldn't either. I believe her reaction revealed the Academy messed that one up (again)
Her and Emma sharing that little moment at 1:48 after BOTH of their incredible performances on The Help, I’m HERE for it!!
The most georgous woman on the planet. What a spirit she s got omg!
I have never believed that an actress like Viola Davis will have a strong and positive influence over me. But i will never forget the first when i saw her in "Doubt" and "The Help", but this time in "Fences" this is the role of a lifetime that blow me away. Yet, at the moment she was giving her acceptance award, i was absolutely speechless. I stand in respect for her and i wish him the best in her career.
Is she still in character 🤔 why am i used to see her as Annelise 😭
hahaha same
Ha so do I
It’s the wig 😂🗣
can we get her another Oscar for this speech? i mean, wow. her passion is palpable.
She's an absolute legend
I just can't imagine how wonderful her presence is...I can feel her totally... Go Viola Go... Long
One of the best speeches. Every time a person of colorful gets the Academy Award, she or he is telling little brown or Hispanic kids, you can achieve anything you want.
Viola is representing Black people, especially African Americans. She is not up there representing people of color, nor little brown or Hispanic kids (the ones who are racist against Blacks like Viola). Stop trying to create a fairy tale to make yourself feel better. Hispanics, for the most part, are racist & colorist.
@@ExquisiteKinkyCoils I dont know what you mean by Hispanic, but there are black hispanics as well, as white hispanics, as well as indigenous hispanics, or even hispanics with asian feature. So is kinda of weird and oversimplyfing the concept of being hispanic that USA citizens use.
@@alejandropradilladuarte3407 lets not play games, ok? By default, white Hispanics are the ones I'm taking about. Since when are indigenous Hispanics & Black Hispanics every mentioned in the media by white Hispanics? Hardly ever. The colorism & racism with Hispanics is an utter mess. Let this be the last time you assume to have an upper hand.
@@ExquisiteKinkyCoils yeah sure i mean i live in Colombia and im Colombian , and im pretty sure we are not as racists as you say we are... But sure I guess you know more about being a latino than me. Just Please stop oversimplyfing, latinoamérica is pretty big and have a lot of countries in it, it is annoying as hell when we are threated as an homogenous group, for example in Brazil they dont even speak spanish, in Aruba they speak papiamento... So we are not all the same. And im sorry, but im pretty sure that racism between white hispanics and black people is not the main problem to solve regarding racism in USA.
@@alejandropradilladuarte3407 if you're going to have a thin-skin, then don't engaged in a debate. Truth is, Hispanic America, good Lord, have terrible racism, & you can't even be honest about it when attempting to respond. I know about Latin America, & will speak on it. Hispanic & Latin American's messy history & current state of racism & colorism is not hidden, except by people like you. My goodness, fix your own messy backyards before posting to me, hypocrite.
Beyoncé would say : she need an Oscar for the pretty dark skin
Hell yeah
Yeaaah love this 😍
She looks really beautiful 😍
That red compliments are perfectly 💋
@Arthur He funny you say that because that's exactly what the Oscar's do
Viola: "To my husband and my daughter"
The camera: *shows her husband and Emma Stone*
I was confused too. Had to google to make sure I didn't miss the adoption of Emma Stone by Viola and Julius. You never know, hollywood is crazy if you don't keep up with the everyday hustle bustle.
Lmao!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@pavelmedbery3055 😂😂😂😂
I was already tearing but then burst into laughter on this part 😅😂
History Repeated. Another Lead Performer Won An Oscar In Best Supporting Actress Category.
A.S Alfred who else did this happen to?
Example:
Timothy Hutton in Ordinary People
Tatum O'Neal in Paper Moon
Exactly, the academy does this all the time.
@@nandimillett8406 Lupita did it!
Whoopi Goldberg for "Ghost."
Viola needs to do something as a narrator, I coud hear her speak for hours.
She deserves an Oscar for her Oscar speech! Absolutely adore her, incredibly talented.
Her capability to connect with the soul of the universe, to translate love into words, vibration into manifestation, is astounding. Thanks a lot Viola!
You can see how emotional Meryl was after giving her a kiss ...such a good friendship
This speech and every acceptance speech she has ever made deserve awards in themselves!!!!!! Legend! Queen! Inspiration!
No matter how much I watch this I cry every time.
I just love Pauletta Washington's spirit. She is always graceful and smiling whenever her husband is mentioned.
I sometimes come back here to hear this speech. Best Oscar acceptance ever.
4:20....cap and natasha watching for bad guys as viola makes her beautiful speech...so sweet
This woman knows how to tap into to your soul with her words she earned that reward no doubt
She never disappoints in anything she acts in 🧡
I live for her speeches.
She should have won Best Actress instead Best Supporting Actress.
Yeah, I didn't understand. Why didn't she get best actress? Wasn't she on the screen almost as much as Denzel was?
@@zenamatthews9380 It was a strategic decision. All signs pointed to Emma winning best actress for La La Land, so putting Viola in supporting was a 100% chance she would win because the rest of the supporting actresses paled in comparison. Putting her in lead would risk her not getting anything at all.
The real shame is Denzel not winning best actor.
@@BelleBlack1 thank you! He wasn't as good as her in my opinion.
She committed category fraud so she could win. She feared Emma Stone and since she was so thirsty she went supporting.
@Faye Lasher thanks for clearing it up. But Casey Definitely deserved that Oscar
Great speech. Look how happy Denzel was for her success. He was grinning from ear to ear.
Mark Rylance did a very good opening speech and Viola Davis did one of the best acceptance speeches in the history of The Academy, it was so honest, real, humble and emotional, I love them both, they are the best.
2:03 Look at Emma Stone
GeniusDolphin she was so happy for her. That speech changed my life
They worked together on The Help. And everyone loves Viola.
I know, they are both leads in The Help
Along with Octavia Spencer
She was totally uncomfortable ha ha
Well now... that was just about the most heart-felt, beautiful acceptance speech I've heard. She really is a breathtaking human being.
I love her acceptance speeches...Always so touching and powerful.
as much as I love Viola Davis, she was not a supporting actress but a leading actress.. The Oscars should stop doing that.
Yeah....we'll debate that one until the end of time. Just like with Jennifer Hudson in Dreamgirls.
TheOGKSJ From my perspective, it was fair for Jennifer to be nominated for Supporting Actress. Because Deena was the protagonist and Effie was more of a neutral character.
I think if Beyoncé had been campaigned as supporting she would have been nominated as well - I remember hoping at the beginning of that season that all 3 Dreams would have been nominated
Jennifer was lucky! Had they nominated Meryl in the proper category that year for Devil...Prada Jennifer would have gone home empty handed!
She probably didn’t want to compete against Emma, who is a personal friend and former coworker.
What I love so much here, is the completely raw and unapologetic confidence combined with gratitude. There's no faux "oh my goodness I won? Really you picked me??" No, she knew she was going to win and she knew she deserved to win. And not for one moment is that presumptuous. You can feel her journey. You can feel her authenticity. That cannot be faked. And so many people love her for it.
I love Viola and Michelle. I hope Michelle Williams and Amy Adams (who was ignored) win their deserving Oscars soon. VERY SOON.
After reading her book this speech made me cry. She's an incredible woman. Highly recommend her book. Meryl Streep by Viola Davis' words, is kind and humble... a great conversationalist. Denzel... oh man. I feel like I know them all. Such power in that room. So much talent. Tears are rolling down my eyes
THERE IS NO ONE THAT DESERVED THIS MORE THAN HER!! The “AND I WAS STANDING THERE WITH YOU” line changed the real trajectory of my media sense. Her role communicated the love and lose of the genre she played and I still ruminate on it to this day.
Viola Davis, this speech is incredible, I love her skin tone especially with the red dress, her confidence in front of this huge crowd she speak so effortlessly with so much power and confidence and her kindness and emotion, the gracious being she is, and most of all that how her speech was so inspiring you can see how her being grateful for everything is the reason she has everything and I’m not saying this out of spite of jealousy, it makes me want to be always appreciative and grateful, I love this speech & I love her, she never stop inspiring me to better ❤️
this probably is the most beautiful Oscar speech I've heard.
I’m here 5 years later to celebrate this amazing woman and role AGAIN! Wow! Well deserved QUEEN ❤
