Last of the Summer Wine, Are You Being Served, Grace and Favor, On the Buses. I found these shows on You Tube a year before i retired, and i absolutely love them. I esppecially enjoy the simple laid back life and beautiful countryside in Last of the Summer Wine. I agree with others, that would be a perfect setting for the waning years.
I think my bp goes down a few points when I tuned into this sweet, safe, kind and amusing little village of the Summer Wine crowd. Take a deep cleansing breath, put your feet up and relax. ahhhhhh.
Love this show so much. I've been where this is filmed twice and was lucky enough to see Compo, Clegg and Foggy in Hepworth during filming back in '96! Lucky me!! How beautiful it is in Yorkshire and I miss it!
Yorkshire and Around Holmfirth and the dales is where I would love to live, with so much open space to enjoy but it's too expensive to move around that area now, will never get to live where I have always wanted to
I just love these episodes, I only wish that I would have seen all the episodes when it was on ..TV....I love all the actors they are just so great and funny,. they each have their own talent , they are cuddly and very good,....I would have loved to have friends like that and live in a place like that,.....MAY THEY ALL...REST IN PEACE.
At 77 with all the complexities and problems in my life ,......I would love to go and live the rest of my days in a place like ....YORKSHIRE...until my Father calls me.
Not in the winter. The BBC has a transmitter at Holm Moss, and I worked there from time to time. This series is filmed in a village called Holm Firth, just down the road. It is wild in winter. There are supplies of food and beds in the transmitter in case you get snowed in, and the roof is armored concrete, as ice falling 1000 feet from the top of the transmitter mast can do some damage to a normal roof, and the people beneath!
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment?"
This is when TV was worth watching. I enjoyed this era, better than what we have to live with now, humourless rubbish on TV and humourless Idiots who enjoy moaning about everything and everyone
Howard was married to a slave driver, don't know how or why he put up with it. But removing wallpaper is the worst job in the world to me. There's such a thing as boundaries and she just walked all over him and he allowed it!
I love this comedy however I don't like the way the men are treated by their wives and other women. Howard is continually pushed around by Pearl and he never gets his own back.
If you notice, that dynamic is common in older British culture & especially on older British sitcoms. The wives & women are very no-nonsense & aggressive & they’re always independent of the men-even their husbands.
I used to like this show back in the eighties when I lived in England, but looking at it now, I just don't like any of the characters. Most of them are just pathetic!
You have to love this sitcom. The humor is clean, dry, and on point. British humor is unbeatable
You right it is dry but funny and entertaining and to the point instead of going around the barn

Armando6565,
I’m 80, and i too would also like to spend the winter of my life in the same country as cleggy and the gang
Maybe a little Irish humour is ok also. Dave Allen , for instance, just to mention one, but I do love British humour 😂
Full of innuendo and occasional swearing is clean?

Summer Wine is the best
The funniest sitcom I’ve ever seen here in Indiana!
@@janetmcdonald2009 I agree, I also like keeping up appearances.
Great show. Love Howard and marina.❤️
I'm from the other side of the ocean in USA and it looks so beautiful there I would love to see the places they show over there...

Burt Kwouk, Kato in The Pink Panther with Peter Sellers 1964
I only start to watch this this comedy last week this is one of the best comedies ever watch
Velma Alleyne is
I love these shows, but I have learned to not take a drink because that’s when someone quips a line that makes me laughs.
Love this show💗
Love this series so much shame most of the picture can't be seen as normal on tv.
Can’t say enough about that show love it

Great show loving it
🚲 Not today Howard 😂 I love Pearl 🌹
This is a very prophetic episode. 2020
Just loved them.dont make actor's or actresses like that anymore xxxxx
I am really sorry for Howard. He is continually physically pushed around by Pearl. He should sometimes stop her by grabbing her hands.....
🐙💕 my favorite
I saw only the last couple of seasons on the Dallas PBS station - so excited to find so many more episodes to watch!
Entwhistle with his invisible dog, barking recorded on his cellphone.
I would love to pull that prank off.
Howard is so pittiful. His friends go to the pub while he is on lockdown and has to clean the house.
First time I am seeing this show. Big fun of British humor. Is that Frank Taranton ?
Longest running Comedy in history!! Amazing Show..32 years on TV..
No Frank Thornton.
@@robbiemify yup. From are you being served.
@@RN0010 oh yea, thought i recognized the voice, just couldnt place the face..... until now, brilliant

Very enjoyable and funny
I do miss Foggy, he was great?
Frank Thornton (Truly) and Michael Aldridge (Seymour) were much better.

Tea with the ladies
Did I lock the door ?........No clergy the doors always open
classic comedy at its best. compo R.I.P
See,ya Cleggy R.I.P. :(
i think they should bring the show back with new actors, who would you choose.... i think david jason be great or luvly jubbly
or maybe clive swift, richard wilson or wendy craig
Season 27, Episode 3. excellent
Lol fun funny show..
Does anyone know where Howard’s house is
Jackson bridge(near holmfirth)
❤❤❤❤
Lockdown, oh the irony.
Great Comment! Howard’s Wife, Pearl could have been the face of the corona virus! 😅
@@4KindnessGal She could indeed!
@@4KindnessGal Yes, she could send the milk sour!

Toast!
Yorkshire is not the same anymore. It’s all houses and no hills
Cropped. Lots of nice detail is lost 😕
I really like to show but I can't stand watching it when it's off centre like it is on your Channel.
I'm just glad it's on so idc.
You would have to be insane to go anywhere near a Yorkshire women
COW!!!!!!!
Why has Yorkshire so funny?
Is it me, or is Pearl dangerously close to being a sadistic psycho ?

it wouldnt be much of a comedy show if the women were nice n kind to all the men,lol
❤😂🎉
Howard is such a womanizer, most of us guys are just as guilty as Howard.
Norman Clegg. What a waste of oxygen.
The laugh track is super annoying
I can't stand more then one Ads....... so I skip them....
ive heard if anyone watches an advert completly then the person who posted the video gets a commision, thats how they make money
I used to like this show back in the eighties when I lived in England, but looking at it now, I just don't like any of the characters. Most of them are just pathetic!
i think they are hilarious….
...ummm they're acting
What the fuck are you doing here?
Thank you.
