My dog loves this program, we have had to record 20+ episodes to play while we are out at work and he lays watching until he gets dozy and I have to always put it on at night so he will come up to his bed. I remember watching it as a child with my parents and grandparents and found it as funny as I still do all these years on
I LOVED this show. I found it by accident late one night on my local PBS channel. I was awake, depressed and in all kinds of pain. I had just gotten out of the hospital after a car accident that took my wife and 2 of my 3 kids away from me, I was also told I'd never walk or talk again. I walked out a few days later lol. Anyway this show and "Waiting for God" probably kept me from self canceling. Then a few months later they aired the episode after Compo/Bill Owen dies and it was like losing everything all over again. I so wanted to meet these people. I was designing a game a few years later and had even checked into what I'd need to do to add Compo, Cleg and Truly in as some NPCs that you could come across occasionally just doing what they do in the tv show. Even got my mom hooked on the show. Went to the library and found a dvd collection of all the old episodes and she pretty much binged the entire show up to like right before Truly came on (that was all the library had at the time). Great show, amazing show.... Thanks for saving my life.
I have been forunate to have collected the entire series. I watch a couple of episodes each night before bed. Regardless of the day I have had or what is going on in my life -- I am raised to a higher place of peace and thanksgiving. Last of the Summer Wine is my personal blessing. Has been for years. Glad you found it as well.
My mom passed in the year 2015 and when she was alive we would watch this show regularly. Everytime I hear that music at the beginning and the end of the show I just want to cry. That was our special time together watching this show. Miss you mom🙋
Heidi Kersey this time everytime you hear the songs try smiling instead of. Smile then refresh your memories with mom! Ok? I tell you it will change your life almost instantly . In a huge positive way!
I'm sorry to hear about your mom☹. I used to watch this show with my Dad....he is still alive but dosen't speak to me. But these shows still make memories, and make me smile 🤗
Heidi Kersey 🌹Just Get a cup of coffee ! And keep watching and as If she is right there setting watching with you! I also pray God will Comfort you alway 🌹🕊️❤🕊️🌹
Great series.never stop watching it. Been to holmfirth a few times love a cuppa in SIDS. Have stopped in the white horse at Jackson's bridge and the elephant & castle in the town.food was excellent
“Keeping Up Appearances”, “Last of the Summer Wine”, “Are You Being Served”, “As Time Goes By”, all of these British Comedies are true comedy at the best. I wish these types of comedies still existed!
The BBC no longer caters for the middle aged or pensioners or anyone with more than 2 brain cells. It's now run by quiche korraine eating, chardonnay sipping, Guardian reading neo marxists who think that unless you're a university educated millenial what you want to watch doesn't count. They still want your £157.50 a year licence fee though. I haven't watched the Biased Bullshit Corporation for at least 4 years.
True...very true...Add " Open all Hours" and "Dad's Army" too....La creme de la crem ....Too bad all these were in the past....No more Golden Age of Comedy....
You probably dont give a shit but does any of you know a tool to log back into an Instagram account? I was stupid forgot my password. I would love any help you can give me
Howard and Marina are in classic form- "that's a lie! i love my wife!" and the lonely, auto mechanic librarian harkens to the library scenes from the earliest episodes, brilliant fun
Move to the uk. We have 3 programs a day. From episode 1 through to the last show the it starts again. Wonderful lost my dad in Jan. pneumonia. Couple of weeks ago we had compo funeral. Suddenly realised I was crying. I agree with you. These fun loving old folk reminds us of our own families. My wife’s family live only 15mins away from holmfirth. I took my parents a couple of times. Lovely happy memories of my family sat round the box on a Sunday evening watching this.
This was a time when the BBC knew how to produce wonderful sitcoms and programmes that everyone could enjoy. Not like today’s miserable selection of doom and gloom soaps, irresponsible man-boy car racers, classic novels that are modernised filth, endless boring games shows and rubbish so-called talent shows which we have to pay for because if we don’t we are hounded by their bully boys enforcers. Roll on the day when this so called licence fee is made illegal. It certainly is not valve for money.

sharon anderson the co op started in this part of the country and because it was funded by local workers it became the largest shop in the area and people would brag that they bought xyz from the co op.
@@garygalt4146 really? Huh. I thought ppl looked down on you if you shopped co op. I say tht because I noticed when the punch line was co op it was always whispered like it was something dirty. Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment?"
Here it is, summer of 2023, and this program is as funny as ever. Excellent writing and acting are timeless.
All i can think of is how beautiful the countryside looks! Really heaven

Good on ya Howard! 🤣
Nice and relaxing

Frank Thornton aged beautifully. He looked better in this series than he did in AYBS.
I agree.
Yes!!!
2020 still watching
Been to Holmfirth and sadly the pub the white horse is boarded up!! One of the great shows ever produced!1
Awwww...how sad
@27:58 Cleggy says "I often wonder what happened to him." only to explain one sentence later that "he got himself killed in the war".
I think Clegg meant between when he knew him and when he died
just love the last of the summer wine
Fun show for a Saturday night
Love this brings back such memories
I like this show it brings back good memories. As I used to watch it when I lived in London
Whoever, London is a beautiful and historic city. I appreciate it more now, as I live in New York

Well said.
Hear,hear!
love to watch but its all ways bitter sweet
Howard is my favorite
He's 94 now
RIP Peter Sallis
I don't think many of them are still alive now sadly, great talent's, at least they have left a legacy of laughter 😁
lmao, Compo and Alvin would have got on famously
Could you not see them giving foggy fits
Isn't that lady at the start with the broom the "black widow" from Arkwrights
She isn't the black widow, she is Mrs. Blewitt from Arkwrights. Mrs. Featherstone was the black widow.
R I p an other beautiful soul passed away
Just way too many characters ,and still can’t hold candle to earlier seasons!! (Compo Cleggie,Foggy, ruled!! Lol)
TO ME ,FOGGY WAS ALWAYS THE BEST . CAN'T FIND TOO MANY EPISODES WITH HIM IN IT. 😁
I like all of the Seasons.
Marina? I once knew a Doreen.
Whoever puts these out should correct the screen size so you can see the whole picture!!!!!!!!!!
That's true.its annoying at times.
Avoiding copyrights - but it makes a lot of them unwatchable.
Can anyone tell me where I can watch Season 20? I cannot even find a place to buy it where it plays in the U.S.
You could try Amazon
Try Dailey Motion, there's a few of season 20 on it
What series and episode is this ?
Foggy and compo were the best characters I think....
Without question.
I AGREE , BOTH WERE VERY GOOD IN THEIR ROLES .👍
Its Mr Scrimshaw was the nasty manager in Co-op in 1937 ..don't remember emsworth..
I thought the manager's name was Scrimshaw.
Ah . . . this shows that twisps father twasp was an odobssala bino 'unter-da-poo-gah' . . .
Pity some of the title is off the screen. Overdue for fixing.
Wht is the big deal with a co-op? They act like it somehow relates to class or something. In America it is something ppl want to do to save money.
