Take it easy! Focus on your recovery. Please don't get down on the floor if that causes you pain. Todd definitely understands ouch. He needs to be patient until you are healed.
Please take care Dad! I was cringing watching you trying to get back up off the floor. If you keep saying “Dad ouch” I’m sure Todd will understand - he’s been so concerned about Glamour’s back so we know how caring he is and he adores you.
I thought the same thing, I have hurt my spine ans part of EDS and have pain 24/7 but I still do things that hurt or that I should not do for my cats. I love them and important, me is all they have to make life nice for them so I better do a good job. I hope your femur healed in a good way.
Lol...grabbers in every room! And, yes, even though my back is crumbling with arthritis, I still do stuff for (and with) my furfolk that causes me pain! Better living through pharmaceuticals!
Take it easy Dad, we heal much quicker outside than we do inside and you don’t want scar tissue to impede your successful healing. Todd looks a little confused but he’ll get over it and adapt while you heal, he’s a very smart cat, you’ll just have to keep telling him ouch. Take care👍🏼🙋🏼♀️
Oh, you were taking those stairs mighty slow, Dad. And 3 ouches cant be good. Take it easy, and focus on healing. Todd knows that something is wrong right now, he'll understand if you aren't able to interact with him right now the way that you usually do. It's amazing how empathetic our cats can be when we're not feeling our best. ❤️❤️
Welcome back! I hope all went well and you are recovering comfortably. Take your time and don't rush to make new content. We will still be here when you return.
You are a loving and wonderful cat dad. Please gage your pain level after this play session upstairs, and go slow!! I set myself back alot by overdoing it, several times. Please listen to your body Todds dad! Get better soon sir.
Oh no Dad. I don't think I'd be getting on the floor on a good day let alone post surgery. I think it's time Todd learned a new word. "Chair time". Wish you the best!
@@Ariadne76-k3d yes, it is good that he *can* get down and back up again (like you said, as a safety concern), but as he is currently recovering from surgery, it may not be the best idea to do it too much. Besides, doesn’t he live with another human or two? I don’t remember. I hope so, at least while he is recovering to have someone taking care of things. ❤
Todd's Dad, Be Careful! Do not let your pride and love for Todd interfere with your healing. Any surgery takes longer to heal from, and is more painful, than any doctor is willing to be truthful about! Even worse for sensitive people who can love their fur families the way you do! Find a way to sit, if that is even possible, to do things with Todd. Explain why, to Todd, in simple words--he will understand. The future and getting to it quickly but in a healthy way is what is important now! Truly the best of luck.
Oh no, you look so sore! Hope your recovery is as speedy as possible. Todd is clearly watching you so closely and trying to figure out what's going on. You two have such a special relationship.
I’m glad that you’re feeling well enough to go upstairs. Todd has missed his brush, cuddle, and play times with his dad. I hope you recover quickly. Take care and don’t overdo it.
Dad needs to settle! Todd is so smart he will understand. Thank you for all these lovely videos. They are such a bright moment between watching the news. I'm sure I speak for many when I say how much we appreciate and are uplifted watching the interaction between you, Todd, Paulie, & Glamour. So please take care of yourself and get well soon. Todd's fans will be glad to wait for new videos. We have many fun old ones to review!
Aw, Todd is so used to a routine with the brushing that he thought he had to be on the floor instead of the chair. Hopefully he will learn to make adjustments.
Sorry to see dad struggling to get upstairs. I hope you are feeling a bit better each day. Todd is watching Dad with great concern. Love seeing the heart connection between you both😍
That is one spoiled cat and a smart one too! He has his human trained. I cringed when you got on the floor to brush Mr. Todd and I was relieved when you were able to get up again! I hope your surgery was a complete success and your recovery is quicker than they told you it would be.
The things we do for our fur babies! You can see Todd's concern for you, and he just wants everything to be 'normal'. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
Cats have staff, dogs have masters. Todd has you trained (in a good way). I think if Todd was your surgeon and he gave you post op instructions, he would have told you to take it easy, but to keep moving ( when he wants you too 🤣). Speedy recovery, hope you feel better soon.
All my cats learned “up,” at the same time they learned, come, eat, treat, and no. I’ve had various surgeries over the years that led to temporary limited mobility. Up proved to be the most important one word they learned when it came to various interactions during surgery recoveries.
It’s interesting how much cats can know …. And not know at the same time. He shows he understands you with some of the phrases but he won’t get up on the chair. 😂. Maybe putting a treat up there ? Hope and prayers for a speedy recovery.
I hope the ouch, ouch, ouch improves soon, Todd's dad- I'm sure your 4 nurses are doing a good job. Todd must've been very happy to have brush & jingle ball with you upstairs, & to see you recovering. Take care.
Glad to see Dad using long-handled reacher but please take it easy! Remind Todd that Dad OUCH OUCH OUCH! He'll understand. Remind him that Glamour had ouch, now Dad has ouch.
Pets worry about us like no other, when we are injured😢it is the best really, thank God for cat and dog and pet videos. I hope you have time to watch other people cute videos too, it takes your mind off the pain😅
My cat who loved being brushed more than almost anything else had designated brushing spots. They were all about waist height and his favorite was the low shelving in front of his cat tv window. Cat tv is the big apple tree out back with lots of wildlife living in it. We tapped the blanket on top of the shelves with his comb or brush and he would rush up there for grooming with an excited trill. I’m sure it wouldn’t take long to do something similar with Todd. Maybe his mom can help plop him on a raised surface the first couple times, but the positive reinforcement will be so strong and he is so smart that he’ll learn fast. You’ll just have to pick spots where he feels stable enough to flop and roll.
Oh no! That looks like a very bad ouch! I see Todd waited for you though, I think he knows Dad has an ouch 😢 He definitely knows something is different, I think he's concerned. Get well soon❤❤❤
I’m sorry you’re so sore, and it’s harder right now. I see Todd look like he’s aware and watchful of you with love and concern .❤❤It’s so cute how he turns each way si you can brush him.❤️
Hi Dad. Nice to see you up and about. Todd is keeping eye on you. Todd is so caring. Take care of yourself. The grabber should work for most of Todd's wishes. Your love for each other is so sweet. Thanks for the video. Take care. Love you.
Aren't grabber tools great? So handy for so many tasks - including mousey and throwing jingle ball toys! Maybe try to entice Todd on the chair for brushing using a churu treat stick? Hope you feel better soon!
Wishes for a quick recovery! it is difficult trying to do anything post OP , along with the different restrictions! Todd did not know what to do, he probably has not ever been brushed on the chair! always on the floor! good luck, stay safe, and give Todd pets for me. he loves his daddy!
I am so surprised you are so mobile after surgery. I hope you get well soon and don't rush to get back to normal before you completely heal. Todd should understand what ouch means. It was so endearing to hear Todd's voice today. It's the first time I have heard him mew.❤ Speedy recovery and all best wishes !! Lovely interaction between you and Todd .❤❤❤
Poor Dad! Ooh, please be careful about getting down on the floor!😖 Hope you have a speedy recovery. As soon as I saw this, I had a flashback to the year 2001. It was my first day home from hospital. My husband was at work, and it was just me and my cat Katie. I had just had spinal surgery. I had a disc removed from my neck, replaced with a piece of bone removed from my iliac to fuse it. I was in a neck cage, and my hip was especially painful, making it difficult to get up and down. I went to feed Katie, and after preparing her food, I couldn't figure out how to put it down on the floor. I thought I would have to have her eat it on the counter, so I tried to coax her to jump up. Mind you, my brain cells were a little scrambled from pain meds and muscle relaxers.🤪😂 She looked so confused, like, "Is this a test? I know I'm not supposed to be up there."🤔🤨 I was glad she didn't. That would have set a bad precedent. 🤦♀️She had to wait until my friend came to check in on me. It also soon became apparent that I needed a grabber to pick up everything I dropped. Hadn't thought that far ahead, I guess. 🤪 It's amazing all of the movements we take for granted until we can't. Anyway, I had a good laugh remembering back, not at your expense, though...😂 We still miss Katie. She lived almost 19 years and was the smartest cat we've ever known.
Good to see Dad up and about. Surgery can be tough. Dad does everything to make Todd happy with brushing. I love how Todd starts out on one side, flips over to the other side, and finally lays so Dad can do his back. Great teamwork!
Glad you're home. I know Todd well enough by watching so many of the videos that I can tell that he's worried and he is really focused on what's going on with you. Our cat is an orange tabby mix and is typically uninterested in what's going on. But if you're sick or sad or stressed out he's like a barometer and comes right in. I imagine that all of Todd's alarm bells are going off. God bless you for what you've done with him and may recovery be Swift and your healing sure. Doc
Glad you are able to walk up the stairs. After open heart surgery it was about one year before I could go upstairs without help. Usually a push from the rear. Always made my husband laugh! 🤣 Then I graduated to hands and feet. Eventually I could stand upright as I climbed. About two years in total. Now I only resort to using my hands when I am very tired. Recoveries are very slow processes, be patient with yourself! Best of luck!
We had a food mousey once but my cat's rejected it, figuring they'll get food in the bowl if they ignore the mouse long enough... and of course they did. They know us too well!
I’m so glad to see you back home after surgery, although I winced when you got down to brush Todd. Bless your heart! Just like me, you’ll try to find any way you can to enrich the lives of your kitties. Thank you for sharing so much with us!!! Sending you healing energy and prayers. 💙🙏🏻💙
I fell down 3 weeks ago I thought I broke my knee. Stuff happens. I am on light duty too. My pet got hurt too the other day. I gave her a baby aspirin. She is able to jump again Glad Todd can cheer you up. Pain sucks🆘😩😓😫
Hmm, next time you’re due for surgery that will mean no getting down on the floor, it would be wise to teach Todd to come to you on the chair before it happens. Hindsight is 20:20 but we sure don’t want you in pain doing it half way just to brush Todd and I’m certain he doesn’t want to cause you pain either. Maybe there is more words to help explain that so he will help you? Maybe Tell him the nearest body part he knows (back or leg or something) and tell him that is what ouches and dad needs Todd to help so it doesn’t ouch when brushing Todd…I’m sure he will want to help once he understands it. There must be a way to explain it to Todd!
Todd might have been asking for things like “brush” in order to assess how bad your ouch is. Can you do mousy, can you do brush, can you do jingle ball? Cats are very observant of body language.
Todd is one sweet kitty and pays very close attention to his dad.... feel better soon Dad! Even though it can't be comfortable to be brushing Todd right now, remember... cat's purrs are seriously healing and he always purrs with attention from you!
Glad to see Dad on his feet after "vet" visit despite "ouch, ouch, ouch!"
Take it easy! Focus on your recovery. Please don't get down on the floor if that causes you pain. Todd definitely understands ouch. He needs to be patient until you are healed.
Yesssssss‼️‼️‼️❤
Please take care Dad! I was cringing watching you trying to get back up off the floor.
If you keep saying “Dad ouch” I’m sure Todd will understand - he’s been so concerned about Glamour’s back so we know how caring he is and he adores you.
You are a determined soul to climb the stairs, find solutions, and kneel to brush Todd. Take care of yourself.
After all, you don't let Todd overdo it for the sake of his health. 😊
Those grabbers are a life saver. I discovered them in PT after breaking my femur years ago. As far as the brush - "The things we do for Love...."
I have long used grabbers because I'm short and get sick of dragging a step stool around for things just out of reach. They are very useful!
Also great for retrieving cat toys, especially under the fridge.
POOR DAD! Post-Op pain is NEVER fun!
Here am I yelling at the screen as you get down. Dad OUCH! Dad needs to recover!
I know!!!
All of us as your fans say Pleeeeeease take it easy and let yourself heal‼️‼️‼️💯💯‼️‼️❤️‼️ You are such a beautiful and loving DAD❤️
Yes, please take it easy. Prayers for a full and speedy recovery.
Doctor: how did you fall behind on your healing? Dad: Todd requested a brushing.
I’m yelling at my phone, “Don’t do it! Don’t get down on the floor! You’ll never make it back up!” Well done, Dad!
Hope you feel better soon, Mr. Todd's Dad!

Here Here!!! Slow and easy does it, I agree!
I love how Todd waits for Dad and looks back to see if he is there, coming and ok. Prayers for a healthy and speedy recovery for Todds Dad 🙏
I noticed that also!!!❤
Me too. Soooo sweet. Wishing you a speedy recovery Dad!
Wishing Todd’s Dad a speedy recovery. Hugs to Todd 😁
Todd, Dad has ouchie. Dad loves you. Play later later. Get well soon, Todd"s Dad!

Oh no Dad. I don't think I'd be getting on the floor on a good day let alone post surgery. I think it's time Todd learned a new word. "Chair time". Wish you the best!
If you can get down on the floor and then get up again, you can live independently. If you can't, that is cause for concern.
As a general rule, but not applicable to Todd's Dad, as this is his post surgery mobility not his regular condition, and he doesn't live alone.
@@Ariadne76-k3d yes, it is good that he *can* get down and back up again (like you said, as a safety concern), but as he is currently recovering from surgery, it may not be the best idea to do it too much.

So nice of Dad to come play with Todd even though he has an ouchie! Hope you feel better soon.
A treat on the chair is an inspired idea.

Please, Please, Please take it easy! Todd will understand!
1:46 Is it just me or does Todd look a bit shocked? His eyes were like, "whoa, easy there!" 😮
It's funny how much trouble he has understanding your limitations, given how sensitive he was to Glamor's back ouch.
Glad you're home. I know Todd well enough by watching so many of the videos that I can tell that he's worried and he is really focused on what's going on with you. You must be happy to see Todd again. Wish you a good recovery, Todd will help you for sure
I fell down 3 weeks ago I thought I broke my knee. Stuff happens. I am on light duty too. My pet got hurt too the other day. I gave her a baby aspirin. She is able to jump again Glad Todd can cheer you up. Pain sucks🆘😩😓😫

Hoping you have a speedy recovery!! No floor time!! 😊 Aww I heard a meow in the background. I love the meows.
Sorry you're ouch, ouch, ouch, please be careful, I'm sure Todd will jump on the chair for you for his next brush, he's a clever boy xx
