But apparently cats can just find the smell of human testosterone very loud and so they cover it up with something better - their smell. Which doesn't smell as bad to them as it does to us (or so I've read.) Of course, I can't speak for your cat. But my cat actually loves my male partner. She sits in his lap, makes squishy love eyes at him, ect. But she'll also pee on his stuff/his side of the bed/his pillow. She's NEVER peed on my stuff in 11 years. Of course - we've taken her to the vet multiple times for urinalysis, blood work, ect. I just thought you might like to hear another experience on cat urine and our male partners. xD
Sometimes cats pee on things just to show ownership. Might smell another animal, something that is offensive, or expressing emotions! You just have to know the cat to figure it out, or with words, let them tell you! But meow's, purrmeows, and tail, ear, and facial expressions tell too!
When we DO connect on a verbal level with our pets...cats, dogs, etc., is it so hard to believe they REALLY ARE Meaning what they say? If so, how about more mutual Respect!!!

The channel Billispeaks, which probably inspired them, showcases a much older cat that I consider to truly understand all the words she presses, it's truly a wonder to see her speak what she means, I'd recommend looking at their videos if you're not convinced it can be done. I, myself, would never have the patience to try something like this, but it's really cool to see other people try. I'm not expert on this kind of thing, and as I previously mentioned I've never watched this channel before, but I think their fault lies in introducing too many buttons too fast, without making sure the cat understands all the previous buttons first. It's a very long process that can take months until you have so many buttons.

Cats can actually learn some human words. I met a cat once who used 'yes' and 'no' appropriately. They can produce some of the sounds in human languages, it's just that they don't usually connect their own vocal sounds to the abstract concepts words represent because their braind are developed more for body language, despite some cats seeming to have a very good understanding of what we are saying.

THIS. He wanted outside this morning. Then was mad Dylan hadn't taken him outside for the birdie. He went for the balcony door after mad, but was sidetracked by the pets by Momma.
Russell is mad cuz his New Year's wish of getting rid of Dylan and having momma all to himself didn't come true! Notice how many times he pressed "mad." Like, when something bad happens and we say "damn" or "shit" numerous times! Lol! Happy New Year Russell and family!
What I've noticed with my cats is any instinctive thinking they do is instantaneous but the intellectual part of their brain takes a second or two to register. When I trained my cat to sit and shake a paw I had to wait for her to think about it but training her to do a natural behavior like catch the treat or jump up on command were quick.
Ever since I moved in with my boyfriend (now fiancé) three years ago, I’ve tried to get his cat Taffel to like me. I don’t approach her first, but try to let her come to me, I give her snacks, I talk to her soothingly and give her lots of compliments and help her chase off unwanted admirers. If she could talk I’m still like 99% sure all she’d say to me would be “you’re not my REAL dad”. I still love her ofc that little gremlin.

If you persist in treating them like furry little humans, you won't ever actually understand them. The way cats think can be decyphered but only with effort. Vicky Hall has written some excellent books on the subject.

I've seen in the other MAD video that he seems to be getting a reward after hitting the Mad button (play mousy, love you affirmations). Russell already has a large vocabulary and preferences like mousy and ice, whereas Billi hit it a lot when she didn't have vocabulary yet. I'm not sure I like this new development, it's out of character.

He doesn’t have mad body language he wants Dylan’s attention. Body language is far more important to pay attention too than the words if he was mad or upset his tail would be flicking back and forth. He’s rubbing his chin on his brush that’s affectionate
