- In this video, I introduce you to the lore behind Warhammer Age of Sigmar’s mortal realms and take you on a tour of the different realms including the Realms of Chaos.
The realms are rich with history with the factions that reside in it and the battles that have taken place, and while I won’t cover EVERYTHING, it will give you a taste and help you continue your own research.

Enjoyed the video and is a nice overview of AoS for starters.
Just to point out that Tzeentch resides in "The Impossible Fortress" at the center of the "The Crystal Labyrinth". The "Silver Towers" are the 9 structures that belong to the Gaunt Summoners which appear sporadically in the Mortal Realms which then connect to the labyrinth.
Cheers for that… I kept some of this thicker detail out of video for simplicity sake, just like I kept Slaanesh’s 6 inner circles generic. You are correct but it’s unwanted complexity for an Intro video and the Silver Tower is threaded throughout our game
Also I will fight anyone who says AOS has bad lore. The lore is fantastic and honestly I enjoy it more then the lore of 40k.
AoS HAD bad lore! (Thank God it got gut over time!)
@@ThaUltimateHunter Tbh any human nation that isn’t Norsca or the Empire in old Fantasy is kind of a disaster. (And even then, Norsca is literally Scandinavia and the Empire is literally the HRE.) Kislev? That’s just Eastern Europe. Cathay is just China and Bretonia is literally France. Araby? Ind? Guess.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not calling it “offensive” or anything, I’m just calling it LAZY!
I do enjoy that the imperium stand-in in AoS is not a fascist hellscape bent on killing everything that isn't a human.
@@MrFairbanksak1 I miss when the jokes in the fascist hellscape were more on the nose. The Thatcher Ork still makes me laugh when I think about it
@@ThaUltimateHunter I personnaly enjoy AoS, but given the knee jerk reactions of some people to anyone criticizing the lore (or the gameplay for that matter) it would seem it is the other way around.
Will be linking this video to everybody who asks me what is AoS!
That’s very kind mate. Thanks for sharing
No sigmar or chaos, ONLY KHORNE!!!!!!
You did fine work in Aqshy Mr Khul
Tea for the tea god, I say!
Delicious green tea for me
really good Overview of all the Realms.
Thank you very much for this good Presentation of the Realms.
perfect for AoS Beginners and but for Old Soldiers too
Cheers Kevin! Glad it was helpful to old soldiers like yourself too
Was glad to hear you were doing lore vids. Can't wait to see more.
Cheers Bruce. Thought I’d give it a crack and help people get into the game
Thanks for lore video, looking forward to see more such content in this channel
Thanks Storytellers. Definitely more on the cards
Great overview mate! Thank you! ❤
Love it. Very concise explanation of the setting.
Thanks Thunder ❤
Since we have other god-level models in the game, such as Nagash and Kragnos, do you thing we'll ever get a model for Sigmar himself? Or is he too powerful?
Thanks coach, this is awesome stuff
Cheers Lee... glad you liked it
Fantastic video. 10\10
Slaanesh seems like it entered our world too.
Slaanesh never left, only got stronger
Master Class lore video
Thanks Elias
Good vid, never liked AOS but this has me somewhat interested. You did a good job of explaining the realms
Thanks Patches, I hope you do come over and play. It’s an enjoyable game
Death to the Gods!
FOR THE EVERCHOSEN!!
(AMAZING video coach!)
Thank you so much Alex 🙏
Amazing video, Coach! Where can i find those colorful maps (e.g. Khul's Keep)?
Found them in the Realmgate Wars. Those are lovely!
The maps were drawn from a wide range of resources and early books like Realmgate Wars had alot of abstract art maps
I bet on Warhammer Age of Sigmar! I'm happy that I wasn't mistaken!
Sounds like it was a solid bet. It was a rough start thats for sure
we need more!
There will be more... Part 2 is on the AoS Gods
Ever since I found that they finally brought in normal humans as a TT faction, im thinking about starting an army.
It’s a good time to play humans in Cities of Sigmar. Great new sculpts and very viable army
@@AoSCoach
love me Guard, love me Empire, love me Cities.
simple as.
I just realized that the Tree Sentinels from Elden Ring are basically Stormcast ethernal!.
I don’t play Elden Ring but that’s cool… I’m sure there is plenty of cross over in fantasy lore
@@AoSCoach I was surprised too!
Honestly a lot of Elden Ring can hit into the AOS setting surprisingly well
@@TalinSilverbane true specially for the bosses
Hmmm, which one of these dystopian tragedies would I choose to live in? Choices, choices!
It’s a great question…. Hopefully Azyr if you were lucky enough or Hysh.
Khorne dominate aqshy actually
Khorne is definitely strong in Aqshy and during the Age of Chaos they dominated.
Wait... is each realm an universe by itself or just an equivalent to a planet?
The simple answer is that it’s more like a planet but some realms have dimensions / plains within it. Shyish being a perfect example.
I think it's like a planet but each one is about 50 times the size of our planet.
Simple version is a planet-like disc that stretch out insanely far(Shyish was mentioned to be 7 Earths across for instance)
More complicatedly it would be accurate to say their own realities as the Realmspheres expand in the void and create their own landmasses, sub-realms and cosmic bodies.
Their cosmic bodies reflect their realm so Ghur suns & stars fight eachother and are random while Ulgu stars will purposefully get you lost so most travelers use only Azyr’s stable stars for navigation and time keepers Hysh as a timetable sun.
