Using the cheap lower unit lube is not a good idea on those VERY expensive bravo 3 drives. Those bravo 3 drives are designed to run on Mercury/Quicksilver High Performance Gear lube. Use that cheap stuff at your own risk.
The manual says to just dump that reservoir out (it just hangs there on a clip). And you’re right it does say to pump it back up into that reservoir (instead of filling it at the reservoir) but I think you need to make sure the cap is off?
