Exactly right, i see so many people on forums talking about cutting their straps down with scissors and i cringe, it was designed that way for a reason, not to mention they’re destroying the value of the watch.
Diving in the pacific ocean, we can get water temps down into the low 50s, so we're using wetsuits anywhere from 7mm - 9mm in thickness. Once you try putting a dive watch without an extra long band on over that type of wetsuit, you'll appreciate the long band. it is a "FROGMAN" watch for a reason... designed for divers. I had a Casio when i was in the Navy in the 80s. It was pretty much indestructible. I once dropped mine from about 20 ft up onto the steel deck. Thought for sure I'd pretty much cost myself a watch, but to my surprise, it looked and worked as if nothing had happened. I'm hoping to pick up one of these Frogman watches... assuming I can find one from a reliable seller.
If purchasing online be careful for gshock clones or fakes. Many of the fakes look and feel extremely similar to the point most people wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. Agree. I do own a previous Gen of Frogman GWF-1000. It is too big on the wrist. With limited function available plus high selling price, and i end up bored of it very fast due to I'm not a diver. At the end i sell it and get the GWN-Q1000 Gulfmaster instead, which is looks nicer and more daily practical function available and it does fit well in my small wrist.
