Exactly, I 100% agree with you. I like the style but also just the overall heft. I believe the new models are a bit lighter due to the carbon core, but personally I always appreciate how much a tank this thing felt like.
It’s a great dive watch. But for everyday land use, I’ll take a Rangeman over this every time. Being 2 hours from the ocean and only swimming in a river sometimes, I have no need for a dive watch.
Oh my god..after 5years saving money..today finally i get to own Master of G Frogman GWD10001JF. It is expensive in my country. Around 400usd if convert. Finally...
I really like mine. Thanks for the great video. Very interested in what you said about navy divers. I thought all professional divers used dive computers these days but I wasn't sure. Interesting video.
Thanks for a great review on this awesome Gshock. I recently purchased a master G Gshock G9300 Mudman and love it . I definitely aim to purchase this Frogman one day it’s a fantastic watch 👍🏻
I mean even for the MSRP of 750 dollars this watch is not a bad deal at all. ISO200m WR and shock/magnetism resist, and considering the accuracy it has(virtually no error because of the atomic time), it's pretty good value. And they are practically unbreakable. I owned 6.7 maybe 8 G shocks I never managed to break any of them.
Even if you hold and press the button to stop the dive time counter by accident. It still shows you your dive start time from which you can calculate the total underwater time, which is a double safety feature IMO.
Great observation. That definitely is some great redundancy for safety. Just goes to show how important it is to know your gear and simulate emergencies.
honestly I don't see any other company that makes a digital watch with this sort of durability and function. There really aren't that many high end digital watch companies out there, most you see are sport watches like suunto or garmin(which are more functional in their own expertiese than the g shock but far lacking in terms of durability), and low end inexpensive plastic knobs like nixxon or so. G shock is the shit.
The Frogman is incredible. I don't like the direction they're going with the new analog Frogman, and I hope that future models stay true to the digital style.
@@degenerateWA you're definitely not the only one. i dont like the new frog. just too many dials. why? i like the lcd where all the info is right there. instead of five different dials driven by separate mechanisms telling me five different things at once. too much for my pea brains. and theres another 12 hour dial on the normal dial that one offends me the most like why just why
Just had a cpl questions? I have the g-7900 which I had to manually put in my longitude I believe to set my moon 🌙 phase now since this since up for the time does this take away the necessity of manually putting in the longitude? Also including the tide? I was just wondering if this is automatic now instead of putting them in?also I like this watch because I’m a former frogman for the sheriffs office where I was also a deputy sheriff this would be cool to own nice review!
Not at all. I actually bought a D1000. I think both the D1000 and 1000 models are fantastic but the more classic styling of the 1000 is more my preference.
@@degenerateWA thank you. I'm new to this and just bought on ebay the 1000 brand new (how possible after so long lol) and then saw D1000 and thought oh did I choose correct think I did I won't use compass on it realistically lol thanks for reply
@@wildaboutwatches I think what's inevitably going to happen is you're going to own the 1000 Frogman for a few years, fall in love with it, and then buy the D1000 also lol. That's what happened to me anyways
My first guess would be, make sure the cities are all set to the same one. Otherwise, I'm not really sure what other settings you could mess with to fix it. You can always do a manual sync. For most models you need to be on the GET screen and then hold down one of the other buttons, I forget which one. Hope this helps, good luck!
Derek Walter my rangeman gets a much better signal anywhere in the house... the frogman needs to be by a window facing west. Both amazing watches. Love them
@@ripperx444 yeah I love my rangeman. Ordered a gw-200 model frogman recently and can't wait to get it. What model is your frogman? I wonder why the radio signal is weaker than the rangeman?
No where lol not even used! It just shows that the frogs 🐸 keep their value very well. I can’t blame people though this watch is SO different in build quality from other G Shocks it is just a great watch over all.
I ordered Frogman two days ago and I'm waiting for delivery. Your explanation was very helpful. Although I had to turn on English subtitles. 😄 Anyway, be careful of covid and look forward to your other videos. Thanks!
@@degenerateWA it sounded like you were describing what is called the dial, or the bezel. The crown is the thing you unscrew on analog or mechanical watches to manually set the time.
@@derekwalter4238 the dial is the "face" of the watch. The bezel is the area that sits on top of the case surrounding the crystal. I promise you I understand what a crown is but thanks for the assist.

Agree bro. This model is a classic and will age well. The newest version looks like it's from the Invicta 2021 catalog.
Agree..
Agree, with all your assessments of this incredible watch, the Casio Frogman is the absoloute best!

Kept simple, informative and to the point!! 👍
Great watch and I agree...it does look sick!!!

Any idea why getting the time sync never works on this model but does on others I own like the rangeman and both in same spot overnight
