I watched some of the videos, to learn how to setup the focus on the Nikon D3400. But it is the first time that I watch and listen to your explanation of how to adjust the focus settings. Thank you for the clarity of the information. And I want to know how to focus to take a picture of a document written in a frame or a video of that document. The D3400 is a great camera. I have one. This video applies to the 3500 as well.
I really enjoy the videos that you are putting out. Very informative on the workings of that camera.
The other thing is flash. You have a lot of videos on how to use flash, lighting the subject and gels. I bought a set of flash gels because of the videos you posted. I also bought a 24x24 Godox Softbox on Amazon which just arrived.

Take your mode dial off of auto.

Love these videos! Have watched them a few times. I understand the principles but I feel like there is something either inconsistent with me or my camera 🤣🤦🏻♀️ I have some lovely photos of my nieces in a field and humming birds from last summer. However I was out shooting yesterday and couldn’t get one thing in focus! Tried all your suggestions and re watched the videos. My stuff was either too dark or too bright and when I adjusted everything it was then not in focus 😬 helllppppppppp

Thank you for this video. Is there a way to change the size of the focus dot on D3400. I took pic at my brothers wedding and the sun was HOT and BRIGHT....and I had to pull the camera off the subject to SEE the focus dot.....I have the settings as you suggested....AFS, and go between matrix and single shot. I see all the 'empty' boxes for potential focus points.....is it always a DOT...can it be a lite up BOX? Maybe that would help....thanks (sometimes I use Back button focus but am leaning away from that)

Using my camera to shoot videos is really painful. The focusing won’t stop, I can even barely smile and the thing is trying to focus again. So my video is 98% intermittent focus and 2% actual footage. Do you have any idea of what’s going on? Thanks

That feature for the auto focus is grayed out and stuck in MF how do I fix that?
The focus mode doesnt highlight in my d5300.
It stays blank and un navigate or ckick able along with af area and metring mode
