It really looks a bit like craters. The whole quilt is excellent. I don't think you should alter the other guild members' work by adding applique.
I didn't really like the background stripes until you added the applique. Then it all made sense and now I love it. Thanks for sharing your thought process.

I love all of the background colors and textures.
My favorite quilt is a group challenge. 12 quilting friends made 1 block, 12 times. Then we exchanged our blocks. Everyone chose fabric for finishing: sashing, borders, and binding. They were all fantastic and reflected their characters.

I’d love to see a tutorial on your quilting that you did. Maybe show the process of putting your sandwich together and on through quilting and binding. That would be so much easier for me to do! I do most of my quilting on the machine but for the special people in my life I leave open spaces to hand quilt. I have arthritis in my hands so it’s quite difficult and takes a lot of time! Thank you!

Love this tree quilt with it's dark to light sky. The addition of wolves seems to graphically balance the scene - I would not have thought of doing that, but love it. You might consider adding a small applique star to the trees that lost their top point! Or not! The quilt is fantastic as it is now!

I love your trees and remember when you were making them. When you were explaining your plan I thought I'll just wait while you create it in front of us. And wow! It looks fantastic with the added appliques and the strip background. If you switched those two blocks you were thinking of switching you would have 2 oranges together with the red block! Better where it is . More big stitch! 👍💗 Is it possible we will get to see the other ladies quilt when it's finished?
