- Do you think you are popular with all your Discord friend requests? Well believe it or not, these friend requests might not be so friendly after all. Random Discord friend requests can actually be inhumane robots that are wanting to enslave your Discord account and possibly your family. I am not too sure about that last claim to be honest.
This video also shows you how to verify if a message actually came from Discord. Those system message accounts are not actually from discord (wow so shocking, shocked emoji, ghost emoji, wow that is so unreal no way ntts that's crazy).

usually i accept friend requests and then ask them in the chat who they are or what they want and when they dont have a reason to be my friend i unfriend them, anyone with a bit of common sense should be able to know when someone tries to scam them and if they do its funny to mess with them

same here only difference is i block them straight if they seem sus or just added me advertise their server or something
I always start talking in some random language and some scammers even go as far as using a translator to realise after half an hour that I've been a brainless idiot
I love to add them and troll with their shitty cryptoscams
It becomes worse when people with no mutual servers nor friends send you friend requests and no actual way to know how they found you

I dont accept friend requests and dont decline them either. The more friend requests come, the more I feel like I matter and people want to be friends with me.

little tip for everyone, if their username ends with SV its 100% one of these bots, ive gotten 5 friend requests from these SV accounts with no mutual servers or friends and they all turned into system message accounts
theres also been posts on the discord subreddit showing more SV accounts too

Massive hint about people lying they are "Discord" is that you can't usually reply to system message.
But you can sometimes reply to posts in the announcements channel on a poorly set up server... ;) that's always fun

I kept getting friend requests from random accounts who had no shared servers or friends. I kept on declining them, but it got so frustrating I just decided to turn friend requests off in general and leave my dms off. Which is a bit of a shame since I am a support mod in a server and I didn't mind people asking privately for help but I couldn't deal with all the spam requests.
yeah that is real unfortunate actually :/ dumb scammers making it so its harder for people to recieve help
I had my friend requests off for a year and only a week ago, I turn it on. Got 2 scam bots within a week

I actually dislike when people send me random friend request since I used to get messages about random scammers saying something about my Steam account being “At risk”.
I’ve since disconnected it and only accept friend request to people I’ve talked to or know. The only exception is when they ask which so far hasn’t happened.
I tend to accept these friend requests knowing they're most likely trying to scam me. Sometimes I try and communicate with the scammer and recently I was actually able to have a short conversation with one. I asked why they hijacked the account and they just replied with "because free".
I friend random people and get people friemd me without any mutual stuff and for me i dont get scams i get new friends :>

What if you get completely random friend requests from people you don't share any mutual servers with? It's happened to me before, and the person said they were "just randomly entering usernames", they later got their account terminated

A guy randomly friended me we started talking, he sent me strange minecraft versions like the ones you see in creepyasta videos (in the end it was an arg) and it was really cool
ive gotten multiple random friend requests and usually just right click on their name and press "send message" thatll open the dm without accepting the friend request and ask them

This happens me all the time, and those bots all have nft pfp pictures for no reason.
Sometimes i get friend requests from people who i have no mutual friends or servers with and ask who they are but they do not reply.

i sometimes get absolutely random friend requests, from someone with no pfp, but not a new account, no mutual servers, and even if i accept right away they are offline and dont say anything. when i waited a few days for one to say something, turns out they are just some cringe pay to win minecraft server advertisement bots

As a developer I usually link to my discord profile for any suggestions and/or bug reports since I don't wanna manage a server so I always accept requests if I don't share a server with them, if I do I just msg them straight away... and I mean all scams come from a shared server anyways

This is why I always ask people why they add me. I've always been super cautious knowing about all these scams, mostly because I've gotten at least 5 scam dms and I've yet to fall for one
when i accept random requests, it is mostly to mess with them, little bit of trolling
this actually happend to me where a random user added me and then days later it turned into a system message bot, and then spammed random scams
I usually check mutual servers, and mutual friends and if they have neither i complete block them and report them for spam... only if they have mutuals servers or friends i'd ask them what they want
I usually accept them and then ask what they want and if they respond with a server I usually tell them to f off and block them

Note: Internal System messages are ONLY true if they have the SYSTEM ✓ tag, if they have a notification, have the teamdiscord tag, have the banner
Addtionally, ask someone a picture of the message and have them check if the message is cap (if its a discord mod then its better unless its worse)
Another thing is discord offical profiles have #0000 at the end. Which is unobtainable for anyone even with nitro
I like getting these type of friend requests, I almost always accept because Im curious what type of dumb scam they are about to try. I usually just tell them to kill them selves or I commited terrorist attacks then block them.

I have like 1500+ friend requests and usually when i get these i make sure they have any mutual friends or mutual servers if they don’t i will ignore

It could lead to a scam where they claim that they accidentally reported your Steam account. It happened to me once.
They tried to do that to me once. I told them I reported their steam account too and they'd be banned shortly. They didn't appreciate it lmao
Most the time I get random requests on steam. I just accept to cuss em out sometimes as I clearly state on my profile that I don't need any friends and don't accept friend requests.
when something like this happened to my friend while we were in discord call we just started to add him and type weird things and so ofter like 2 hours he blocked every single one of us lmaooo
1:55 i knew it...one dude had been sending me reqs from alts which have usernames that end with "SV" (prob some scamming team) and then he renames himself to "System Mesage" or "Mesage System" (tier S english lmao) and just keep spamming, it's not a bot account since he reads my messages and keeps spamming when i dm him stuff like "wow so many nitros thx" lmao

I know a bunch of people who get their accounts deleted every few months. (Not friends, just same community)
Usually when it happens to me they just advertise their Minecraft Prison Server
I usually add them just to wait their time, even if it is miliseconds, thats valuable time that someone dosent get scammed, and when they send the message, i report them

and some super outrageous thing called "supermeatbeater" or something i forget 😂
This happened to a friend of me not long ago:
he got a friend request, accepted it, the scammer said that he accidentily reported the steam account of him (he linked his steam with discord), and then the scammer wanted the account data of his account so it didnt get banned
nothing happened because the scammer was suspecious (he wrote in those .txt files and did lots of typing mistakes) and we did not fall for the scam.
If you feel like you are getting scammed or someone wants your info, search up the scam and there will be lots of websites with how to not fall for these kind of scams. And dont click on any links!

I always give them 10 minutes to reply after accepting the friend request. If they dont answer within the time i block them. They want something from me, not i from them so i dont need to care (the ones not any mutual friend are or same servers in)
the ones i get are invitations to minecraft prison servers, i don't even play those.
the most recent one i just added them, took a few hours and then they sent the scam

I usually don't accept discord request because of safety reasons. But a 2 months ago i got request from a user "Your master" and there wasn't any mutual server, i joked around with my friends like "Imagine you made a mistake in your life and then get a friend request from YOUR MASTER" and we start to make Gachi jokes in Voice chat. On a next day i was suspicious about this friend request, but a accepted it. User instantly replied with screenshot where was me and user's friend and said "It was a little mistake". We had a similar nicknames with same numbers. Difference was a "Влад#..." Reads like "Vlad" but user's friend nickname was "Bлад#..." with english "B" because it looks similar to russian "V". I replied with "Ah, it's ok" and then we had a nice conversation and said "Bye" to each other. And then we didn't wright to each other again. It was wholesome moment.
Sometimes random wholesome moments like this happens. But it was kinda risky for me accept because it could be a bot that just sending request and leaving server. I still think better be safe and do not accept a random friend request then let your guard down one day and be in danger.

most of the scams are free nitro and are on a timerwhen they send they dont stop the common usernames are susanSV they have no pfp and after a week they change the name to system message
They always just ask me to join a Minecraft server, so I tell them to shush.
try recieving a friend request on discord where its basically a new account no mutual friends or servers but their user is basically like a real name and i also decline them bc i know that its a fake hook up

The only random requests I get are from random non profile picture bots that just give me random minecraft server notifications
I get random requests from people who are not in my suggestions and whom I have no mutual servers or friends with.
What I usually do is accept it. If they start messaging me with some scam BS, Insta blocked, if not, I'm too lazy to remove ya anyway. In one case it was actually someone I knew as it was an alt account they made and hadn't joined up into mutual servers.

once my sister got a random friend request, she accepted to ask who they were and she got added too OVER 100 gcs. It was a "u r an idiot" thing. And in those gcs you could see others who had gotten attacked

i always add ppl, never got system message thing but i have gotten minecraft server advertisements alot idk if its like a specific target or sum coz ya.
I accept all (even irl friends) and piss them all off and ruin the friendships.

when i get friend random request on discord its ussually cuz they need tech support from me yeah
sometimes i get random friend requests because they try to add Crow#1000 and accidentally add me, crow#1000, one time i got added to a gc with him and the call started acting weird, like when i wasn't talking my icon would disappear. so now we know what happens when 2 people with the same name and tag are in the same call
I remember when this happened to me. A bot with the name "System Mesage" told me i won 3 months of discord nitro from steam.(the name was actually misspelled )
