"The Sponge Who Could Fly" was originally intended to be the finale of the show, and was treated as such for a while, with grand commercials leading up to the treasure hunt, the walk cycles, the Remembering SpongeBob sequence, etc. Of course, the show was too popular for Nick to possibly end it, and there would be much to come after the movie. I can't wait for you to see that.
Good it wasn't the end because in my opinion the episode was sh*t and the worst of season 3

Tom Kenny is such a talented man, i swear people squander him. He sang all the early SpongeBob songs, and he sang operatic in his role as Two Brains in Wordgirl. This man is a legend.
He also played as our resident tragic psycho, Ice King.
He was also in Mission Hill, which is lesser known these days but still a good limited ep tv show
The song "Who am I" in spongebob is actually amazing. It really shows Tom Kenny's vocal abilities as spongebob.

I used to use VHS tapes when I was a kid, but they never got ruined.

The German dub tranalated it quite literally. They say "Geister, Geister, Weißbrot" which doesn't convey the actual joke at all (because it doesn't rhyme) and just makes it look like the dude is extremely confused.

Fun fact about the strangler episode. That episode was originally only on the season three d v d. It didn't air on tv till way after during the season four run. We watched that episode on my first watch party as a kid, It was wild because nobody had seen it
Season 3 was already finished by 2002, but Nickelodeon spread out the episodes in anticipation for the first movie

Season 4 isn't necessarily a whole new team took over either. There was a team led by Stephen and after he left the team was still there for a few seasons

Hey guys loved the react keep it up. I'mma long time SpongeBob fan and even as an adult I would STRONGLY encourage giving season 4-5 and then 9 and onwards a shot. People really judge the whole of the series after the movie based on some hated ones from 6-7 some 8 but in terms of a younger children's cartoon, SpongeBob has always remained pretty high quality still and I'd argue in the recent seasons it's getting much better. Looking forward to 4.

@buzzspark I completely agree with you, season 6, 7, 8, and 9 were great seasons for spongebob and they had great episodes, I really enjoyed those seasons, I hope they get a chance to react to those seasons wherever they get around to those seasons, also I loved the movie too from 2004, I can't wait to watch there reaction to that movie 😎

Already at the end of S3, wow. The Strangler and Invisible Spray episodes were very entertaining, my favorite moments include the SpongeBob and the Strangler laughing maniacally, SpongeBob and Patrick using puns to insult each other as they use the spray, plus scaring the heck out of everyone.
I’m interested in seeing what you guys thinks of S4, the season where a lot people are turned off by the show.
Season 4 isn’t even as bad as people make it out to be, most of the hate was influenced by cartoon reviewers

There is something I don't get. At some points, SpongeBob seems to know his bodyguard is the tattletale strangler, but for most of the rest of the episode, SpongeBob is clueless.
The clueless is like “don’t f me moment” and him being scared was to lure The strangler into a trap! Which he fell for…
Actually with a lot of planes you have to manually spin up the propeller! lol

Stephen Hillenburg while originally only working on Seasons 1-3 and the first movie, he did return for the second movie and Season 9 until his death

It's crazy how the Sponge who Could Fly was intended to be the finale of spongebob, and you can tell. It wouldve made me cry if it was the finale honestly
After s4, a lot of the old crew was still around. The showrunner for the post movie episodes is Paul Tibbitt, who Hillenburg chose to head the show for him in his absence. Though Hillenburg still approved scripts, he wasn’t the showrunner anymore and had far less involvement beyond that.
That patchy segment is so good lmao

Don’t get me wrong, the first three seasons are easily, the peak of the show, and I don’t expect you guys to react to every episode. But just know that, even as the quality of the show started to decline, there’s still some gems in there you can watch (Season 4’s still good fun)

So i looked it up and yes, according to history books, people DID laugh at the man who invented the light bulb. They didn't think he was a witch because technically electric light was already available, but the methods were only reliable for public spaces given how the designs were just too big, what Edison did to stand out was literally the bulb being able to not break upon generating the electricity and being able to function indoors.
That said, a fun "myth" is that the reason he invented it was because he was REALLY afraid of the dark.

Kinda like Princess Bubblegum where she ONLY believes in science and technology (but not evil.) Glad to hear you'll continue with Season 4 onwards. Most, though not all, of my favorite episodes that weren't in Season 3 are throughout Seaon 4 to 8. And most of the rest that aren't among my faves are still solid fun episodes imo.
While there are a few bad episodes post-first movie (that I'm definitely gonna skip), I still had a blast about 9/10 times each Season until around the end of Season 8/start of Season 9 when I stopped watching TV and with it this show as well as most other episodic shows I had been watching for years.
